Shame wild wolf packs do not have Alpha's then isn't it? And before you point to Rudolph Schenkel's 1948 paper I will inform you now that that particular paper was written after observing non related wolves in a zoo. Later in life, after observing wild wolves, Rudolph Schenkel himself refuted his prior Hypothesis, and spent most of the rest of his life trying to undo the damage his paper did among the population. Wild Wolves do NOT have alpha's, they never have, and never will. And there is plenty of Scientific data to back that statement up. It is a myth, one propagated by the ignorant and ill informed. It is not reality.
Wild wolves do not have Alpha's. Rudolph Schenkel's 1948 paper was written after observing non related wolves in a zoo, not a wild wolf pack. Later, after he had the opportunity to observe wild wolves in the wild he refuted his own paper. Wild wolves do not, and never have had alpha's. Pack dynamics and interaction is NOT the same in wild wolves as it is in captive wolves, in fact it is very different. Neither do wild wolf packs form of unrelated animals save possibly the dominant pair. Schenkel spent most of the rest of his life trying to undo the damage his paper propagated among the uninformed. Alpha wolves are, and always have been a myth. These days there is plenty of scientific evidence to back my statement up fully.
Played this while going to work, feels like I’m going on a battlefield.
