    Recently bought an overseas harness for a blue/red 2000 LS1F body parts swap. Checked out very much like your review. They skimped on colors but everything still ohm'd out. Kept thinking I was missing something because I wasn't finding any problems. And as a surprise it came with a fairly good manual. The units claiming to be made in the USA often aren't made here. Recently got some relays stating made in USA in the advertisement and on the cardboard and plastic hanger card. You can see through the plastic on the card that the relay is printed with made in China. So I tried my luck and so far working out. Thanks for the step by step walk-through.

      Thank you! Check out my videos on the red/blue 99-02 ebay harness, the ones I have had are based on the LS1 and not the vortec like the green/blue ones are. I re-pinned mine to match the vortec prints instead of the LS1 like they come, and the engine fired up first time. I have two videos on the red/blue. One goes over the repin, and one goes over why I do the repin even if it is not needed for the engine to run. Good luck with the build!

      After looking at different sellers on Ebay I am sure they are all selling the same harness, most are using the same pictures. I would be checking the pins regardless, never know if one will get sent out pinned wrong. I did find one issue with the harness after the fact, the MAF connector needs a notch cut in it to fit onto the MAP sensor fully, I go over it in a later video in the build series. Thanks for watching!

    I bought one of these and it was worse than awful. Led to months of headaches trying to diagnose engine issues, engine kept stumbling and back firing through the intake....ended up having to go pin by pin and plug by plug checking pin outs only to discover this thing was wired WAY out kf wack. I have a list of what was pinned where but it was insane. Only thing pinned correctly was the min to make it run...on 5 cylinders i may add but it would crank...what a nightmare. Mine was about 6 months ago and was a blue Green DBW harness. They must have made this on a friday afternoon and did it on purpose it was so badly done lol

      I didnt post a link because they are all the same as far as I can tell, this one was from Ebay around $95. On the one side of the fuel pump relay that is keyed on? And the other goes to the pump

    • @rust_hoarder_garage
      @rust_hoarder_garage Год назад +2

      You can run the fuel pump relay feed side to fused 12v key on or fused constant 12v, relay output to fuel pump. Watch the first start video I show the hookup. If the relay feed is key on only the pump will not run while cranking but should not be an issue as long as the rails are primed with fuel. I have mine wired to fused 12v constant similar to what GM did.

    question, I bought this harness recently and when I turned on my truck , 64 c10 with 5.3 4l60e dbw, I got a couple trans codes mostly open circuit tcc/torque converter and a solenoid, when I checked the harness there was no pin 75 for the E connector on the blue/green plug, so when I ran the continuity it was on pin 76 which was for injector number 5, is that okay since im not Sure if its constant 12 or should I add a pin on 75 and jus use that wire for the trans plug.

    • @rust_hoarder_garage
      @rust_hoarder_garage 5 месяцев назад

      Best thing to do with any of these harnesses is to verify every wire is in the correct location for your engine/trans configuration. 4l60e/80e are wired differently, I would check that first. Injectors have constant 12v but this harness does not wire the injectors to the same circuit as the trans, you may have one made by a different company.

So I have to connect a wire to the standalone harness relay 27:55 going to the fuel pump and one wire for fuel pump 12v(power) right ?

    • @rust_hoarder_garage

      Nothing in the under dash bundle of wires is for the fuel pump. You have to add 12v batt power to one side of the fuel pump relay and connect the other side of the fuel pump relay to the hot lead of the pump. Fuel pump relay trigger wire from the pcm and ground are already there. See my first start video in the 1951 Hudson play list, it goes over installation of the wires.

Today I looked at their listings for 99-02 red/blue DBC cables and there were pictures of connectors that are not on the harness, pictures showing the PCM connectors with bolts and without, so it is really a gamble either way.
