Tom is not considering the distance Ederson had to cover now looking at it back. If Ederson had started off in the center of the goal at that moment he wouldn’t have needed to even jump for it he could have simply moved and caught it. But that’s not a real criticism of him because he is in the correct position a goalkeeper should be in relation to the ball’s position on the pitch. It would have been the best save of the season if he got to it because he essentially would have needed to guess that the player was going to shoot it there, and I think it took Ederson really off guard because I don’t even think Calafiori knew he was shootting let alone everyone else on the pitch, stadiums, watching at home. Reev saying it was a defensive masterclass got overlooked. In boxing terms it’s the equivalent of being dropped in the first round, being easy to hit for the last 6 rounds, and then being dropped again in the last seconds of the fight. The fear of being beat always seems to outweigh the desire to win for Arsenal against City. Their fan base is too comfortable in celebrating mediocrity and I’m not confident they’ll get it over the line this season based on what we’ve seen so far.
But do you not account for the fact that Arsenal were playing with 10 men away at the Etihad? While 2-1 up? They certainly did try to win the game with 11 men. Also, the fear of being beat is valid in this context, since they were already winning, why would the try to score a 3rd at the VERY high risk of conceding? The desire to win was obviously the goal here, hence protecting their lead until the final seconds.

No buddy if you had 11 men you play straight up and try to attack and lose. City were dominating you guys and you needed a 25 yard shot after a ref mistake and corner to score. City were destroying you
At 9:10 Tom‘s absolutely right. I think the ref giving Trossard a yellow for kicking the ball away (with such little reaction time) is absolutely ludicrous. However, his foul seconds earlier on Silva is absolutely worthy of a yellow. If he would have just given him a yellow for the foul, nobody would bat an eye
How many sides out possess city at their own ground or even come close to it, nevermind away at the Etihad? Real Madrid employed the exact same tactics under don Carlo last year in the UCL and they beat them on pens, game plan was perfect, everything was executed perfectly in that first half, but a stupid lapse of concentration from trossard cost us in the end, haaland is inevitable he will score, but when it was 11v11 the game was tight with very few chances for either side. It’s funny everyone saying haaland scores so easy and never misses yet 6 months ago everyone was saying how awful he is at finishing and only scores because he gets loads of chances 😂😂
Anyone else getting sick of Lewis' agenda with Arsenal, this is getting boring now and I'm a Man Utd fan...
Good work Lewis, had them rattled 😂
Those teams every single week that go through it with 10 men Arsenal definitely good enough to score a goal with 10 men, even if it is against Man City
god i love tom
Think that United are trying to do a similar thing with De Ligt but they’ll need time to perfect it
No way ederson is saving that. The shot went from calafiori's left foot it has a curl that is going away from edersons hand. Incredibly hard to save that
i cant tell if lewis really has an agenda against arsenal or if hes just winding theo up
Do you know what I'm not hearing anyone say, did Man City bottle it? At home against a title rival and playing 10 men for 45 minutes, only got a draw. Surely that's the actual bottle in this situation
😂😂😂 no it’s not do you do realise how hard it is to score when you out 10 men in the box
city are proven winners of multiple PL titles YOU are not. You bottled your chance and you're naive enough not to realise that
No even stoke used to hold teams to no goals with 10 men in the box. It takes no skill
They conceded at the very last possible chance, technically they still bottled lmao
Lewis rattling Theo is class
A draw at the start is a good result but a draw when your a goal up in the 96th minutes is a terrible result Theo literally says it feels like a lost so how can that be a good result
15:51 Theo just said Raya was blinded by the lights and the players…really doesn’t do himself any favors
Revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night.
toms wrong about the ball curling away from the keeper being easier. There a lot of clips of top keepers saying that makes it a lot harder for them.
It doesn’t though
Arsenal very nearly won the game and bar the stupid red card from Trossard which was a red we would've won, but even Liverpool's best manager ever jurgen klopp never beat Pep Guardiola at the etihad in the league yet Bowden thinks we should be beating them every time we play them, imagine if Arsenal celebrated the draw against 10 men the way city did. He'd have a field day the knob
Ole beat Pep at the Etihad with United, beat them home and away in the league one season.
@@alexfielding7191 yeah and fair play to him, got the jobs done, was probably not down to 10 men at any stage in those games is the only difference, but i wouldnt knock that and ole always had a good record against pep from what i can remember, and there are other managers too. But in our last 3 games against them in the league a win at home and 2 draws, and how good results from us get frowned upon from rival fans is just laughable
No buddy if you had 11 men you play straight up and try to attack and lose. City were dominating you guys and you needed a 25 yard shot after a ref mistake and corner to score. City were destroying you
"without trossard red they win the game"
Who does he play for? That's literally the definition of bottle 😭😭😭😭
8:19 when tom is saying no english clubs have good attacking set pieces, i introduce you to Aston Villa mate
Fair to say Newcastle bottled their title charge ?
At 9:10 Tom‘s absolutely right. I think the ref giving Trossard a yellow for kicking the ball away (with such little reaction time) is absolutely ludicrous.
However, his foul seconds earlier on Silva is absolutely worthy of a yellow. If he would have just given him a yellow for the foul, nobody would bat an eye
"went there and tried to win" 34% possession in first half before the red card
Say the scoreline fam. Why you talking possession stats lmao
Show me the last time any team went to the Etihad and had more or equal possession
Hate this narrative that Arsenal are wrong and shameful for using their best attributes to win a game of football
Winning 2-1 before the red card so possession is kinda pointless.
They were getting absolutely battered too. The red card actually helped them. They had an excuse to just defend. Arsenal would’ve lost with 11 playing normally
Havertz did get a completed pass by the way, he won the ball off a goal kick and made a pass to Saka.
It obviously doesn’t count for some reason because the official premier league stat is 0
No he didn't. That "completed "pass" was actually a deflection off Doku.
Crazy how goldbridge is crying about arsenal more than the arsenal fans.
Yeah because he hates City more than he likes United
Calafioris goal was literally side netting I’m just guessing Tom has literally not watched it back
Have we just given up on the fact that Lewis is supposed to be a producer and not on camera?
can be saying arsenal had a weakened side when they injured citys best player and kdb didn't play
Tom chewing his fingers is so distracting lol
For the love of god. I know you read the comments Reev, take this note from this pod PLEASE. Stop saying current for lists man and just say IN FORM. Doing a top 10 players in the league list is so pointless whereas top inform players so far this season, I’m interested 😂
city haven’t beat us in our last 4 games now, what we need is other teams to start playing against them so they drop some more points lol, rest of the league is scared of city, atleast Liverpool still give them a good game
Lewis: Going in to half time, everyone would have expected Man City to score.
Also Lewis: Come on man, Arsenal should have seen that out.
they should've. it was the 97th minute
Careful mate. He's a scrapper now
At this point we are used to seeing Arsenal fail when it really matters so if anyone is asking did Arsenal bottle it I'd say no . I'd say Arsenal did exactly what they normally do😂
Lewis is cooking this episode rate it
"typical arsenal" would probably be winning that game since we almost always hold one whenever we're forced to park the bus in the closing minutes of a game lol, also Lewis hold that 3-1 loss to Hale End FC
Ederson should save it, he doesn’t step into the dive
"They went there to win" did they fuck
Interesting the only time I’ve heard Tom moan about missing a baggies game is when they’re top of the league 🤔
It is common place to go and win that game if you are going to win the title, arsenal won titles always beating united at old Trafford same difference
Not a good result when you concede in the 97th minute
Surely we should be talking about how Man City bottled it?
How’s scoring a 98 minute equaliser bottling it
@@Cameron0548 barely scrapping a draw against a team that has 10 men and you’re supposed to be levels above?
@@Cbfbxvzg 😂😂😂 Mate trying to score a goal against 10 players is in the box is much harder to do with 11 players just playing normal football
@@Cameron0548 come on stop being naive if the roles were reversed it would be “embarrassing Arsenal celebrating a draw against 10 men”
How does Theo manage to mess up every analogy he tries to make 😂
i thought he was gonna say first 2 players in 20 years to suck eachothers knobs
A Newcastle fan talking like they know what it takes to win the league what has this world come to
No clearly not.
Lewis is right for once. Yes arsenal had 10 men. But it is a bottle. Arsenal held them off for the entire game then switched off in the last minute. If they didn’t switch off they would’ve won the game
Havertz and Timber had 0 successful passes but still had a better game than Kovacic, Silva, Doku and Walker🤣🤣🤣
God Arsenal fans are thick aren’t they
They lost their concentration at the end and it cost them… looks like Arteta’s little pickpocket lesson on staying alert was a load of crap … just like it sounds!
