Hey, just watched your videos from the engine removal to current on the gtss project. I have an impala SS I will be transplanting into the rear of a 1951 GMC 3100 I have. Helped me a lot in the planning. Looking at the sea of parts from the donor and cable I'll just go straight with the aftermarket engine and transmission management.... Keep up the good work. Good channel
Thank you. I may end up doing the same.
Thank you so much for this video! It helped me out tremendously!
👍
Well I’m gonna have to put it back in. Soo let’s seee ,Should be fun 😕😋. Thanks for the video. Super helpful 😇🙌🏼🤙🏽✌🏽 not sure if I could have done it without your video! Thanks brother 🙏
glad it helped
hey were you able to put it back in the same way or did you have to do some loopholes??
@@ball7411 yeah like one loop hole. The part that the wires run through… I just squished it down, wasn’t able to get the back bolt in .. too tight of a space. To be honest, I don’t even know how Toyota got it down in the first place. I think they screwed that down as they were building the car. But it’s all fine and works like a charm, as long as you can get one or two bolts, I forgot. But the ones that I couldn’t reach on that plate, I just didn’t worry about. And it worked great, no problems, no complaints, and it’s not like anyone seeing that one bolt in the back that I can’t tighten down that plate 👌🏽👍🏽🤙🏽😜
Are the two bolts on the inside plate 10mm?
yes
Yes, this job is awful. Had to do it last year. Ended up putting an extension on a ratchet wrench with electrical tape. There is no room.
ya its a pain. I am glad I didn't have to put theses back in
@@TSRGarage bout to take them out and put em back in. Let’s see. I got 10 hours of light. Here we go. 🤙🏽🙌🏼. Let’s hope I don’t need duck tape extensions 😄
So, quick sorry. I was driving back to my dorm from work and my shifter cables snapped. Pulled into a place, removed my battery and left it in my seat. Towed it to my house, and replacing the shifter cables was the worst automotive job I've done, I've rebuilt engines and other stuff, but this was ridiculous. I ended up pulling the entire dash, not to mention the battery I left in my seat leaked acid, and sitting in it / touching it was excruciating. Took me about a week to do the entire job .
It is crazy how they are put in. I mean no access after the car is built around them.
I feel u
Oh shit you're doing the same thing im doing to my scion
Fun job lol. At least I didn't have to put mine back in.....
So was this an automatic transmission then swapped to manual?
No from the factory it was a manual. Being swapped to an automatic rear wheel drive....

@@TSRGarageWhy did you want an automatic?? Usually swaps like this people want to have a manual. I need to replace the cables and shift bushings. It doesn’t look too terrible to do, just mainly those 2 or 3 bolts under the heater seem difficult to get to right.
Lesson learned. "Dont swap transmissions, not worth it".
Lol, they are a pain to get at
This makes me not want to attempt this. Nor do i know a shoo that would do a swap like this.
in the middle of doing this, definitely not worth 😭
@@ball7411 sold mine lol buying a civic 5-speed and just build from there 😂
@@grimakastatik that was definitely on my list before i picked the celica preferably a 2002 Si 😶 starting to wish i waited for one instead 🥲
@@ball7411 that was my mistake. I was impatient. The Celica is a good car if it's a gts and then spend the money on a supercharger or something. But the civic just has waaaaay more options and flexibility. Especially aftermarket. It's endless. With the Celica, it's not plentiful. But still a fun car!
