Your ideas on magick are the best I have ever come across. You are concise, relevant and immediately understandable. Listening to you can literally allow the aspirant avoid years of less than productive information searching. For some time, I intuitively understood that the results of my work were unique to myself even if they did not coincide with traditional methodology. Your acknowledgement of this idea gives me new energy for my work. Thank you.

@@simonjurado2326 It's certainly a lot easier than wording it in pure Skeptic fashion: There may be nothing that is ultimately true, and there may not be any objective reason to not behave as one wishes. A pure skeptic may live as if nothing is true and everything is permitted until they are presented with sufficient reason to believe in absolute truth and further a truth that serves as a barrier to preventing them from behaving as they will. Being a hard skeptic goes very well with chaos magick when it serves as the backdrop weltenscheung. Not ultimately believing in anything with absolute certainty and accepting the possibility that nothing may be true and all that is perceived may be a lie turns the world into a blank canvas that the magician can paint meaning onto.

I really jive with these 6 principles, surprisingly, since I am not a witch, magician, or sorceress! But with such clear and relevant principles, you make one consider becoming one just to explore and deepen these principles. I am working on “deconstructing,” as you put it, deconstructing from YEARS AND YEARS of Catholic Christianity, a belief system that was lovely in my 20s, but has now failed me in my 40s, bringing on a huge and very painful writers block. Somehow I discovered Tarot, and discovered your excellent tutorial videos, and just stumbled upon this one today. Well, I’m hooked, to put it succinctly. Since finding Tarot I have felt my writers block slowly dissolve, and now with your elucidation of these 6 principles, I am intrigued and eager to learn more. I am learning to use Tarot to open up and deepen an eclectic spirituality, and these principles are right up my alley. Thank you for your videos. I have you subbed, and am happily anticipating what is yet to come. You are truly making a difference in my life.

First off, *fantastic video* -- thank you for doing this, you do it well.
For myself, I'd say the most important reason to be non-dogmatic is that dogmatism is an inflexible mental framework that cages the thinking, and by breaking down that framework -- deconstructing the self/ego -- one realizes that the universe (this word used lightly and in the most broadest sense possible), and, simultaneously, the "self/ego" is a construct and can be reconstructed after the deconstruction. This is *shapeshifting*, and shapeshifting is perhaps the oldest form of magic, as seen in the shamanistic cave paintings of "manimals". If I believe "I am" -- I am "this", I am "that", I am, I am, I am -- then I have *fixed* my-self, I have reconstituted the (false) consciousness of "being", and in so doing I have fashioned myself a fancy cage. The shapeshifter -- the sorcerer/shaman -- is one that must let go of labels and rituals and dogma (and one of the fastest paths to this is through the breaking of strictly observed taboos against certain behaviors, such as coprophagy or incest or what-have-you, but for the more timid *myself included* other small transgressions work as well, such as allowing oneself to be wrong!, which is akin to self-sacrifice, the offering of the body -- the self -- up to "The Void", etc.) in order to be able to allow change -- XAOS -- into the world (LOGOS). This violation, this invasion of the "wyrd" into the "mundane" is magick. Magick is nothing less than the deconstruction and reconstruction of reality -- it is a paradigm shift. On that same note, the process of Naming has since the dawn of language been a spiritual (read: magickal) act, and this is simply because naming something *fixes* an identity, it attaches a signifier to a signified, or rather it fixes a sign to a sign, robbing the named of its fluidity, but in so doing providing it form -- giving it shape, and identity, "being".
If one thinks about it, the entirety of the principles of (Chaos) magick can be distilled down to loss of self (the ecstatic/gnostic state). Lose the dogmatism by losing the ego, and vice versa, and when one loses the ego, one arrives at a literal altered consciousness (a paradigm shift) -- losing the ego is the same as losing control, loss of SELF-CONTROL. The sorcerer is the master over symbols and symbolic systems, able to deconstruct, reconstruct, and re-deconstruct meaning -- and therefor reality -- at will.

Its as if pathways in my brain are now working or unlocked. Its a great feeling to let go of judgment and just feel.

I just came to channel. Thank you. This helps. With me being a new witch (embraced the path late December 2017/early January 2018... Started seriously studying in March 2018), I'm learning and unlearning so much. I'm a black woman in Illinois and I follow A LOT of different metaphysical/witchcraft/Wiccan pages and groups across pretty much all social media. And not to disrespect anyone's path, I notice that a lot of practitioners seem to hate when others try "their" style of magick. I choose to stand alone, do eclectic/solitary/chaos magick in a respectful, honorable manner. But even that may be taken as "appropriation" 😢

I would never have particularly thought of myself as a Chaote but apparently I am closer to that than anything else. I guess taking Granny Weatherwax's Headology theory as my major system should probably have given me a clue, eh? I'm very much into interpreting things for yourself. Just because amethyst works like 'this' generally doesn't mean that's how it works for me, especially if I'm wearing other crystals as well. I often have this issue with the Wheel of the Year. I was born on Imbolc, so for -me- Imbolc is my new year. It feels right and always has. The amount of times I've been told I'm 'wrong' and that Samhain is the new year! But honestly, for me, Samhain feels like the beginning of an end for me, leading from autumn to winter. Imbolc is the looking forward to Spring, so to me it makes perfect sense that that is the start of the year. Very hard to get people to understand that just -for me- though and I don't care what anyone else is using.

I am enjoying learning about these principles. One of my main belief systems and constant work of shadow is the dualistic approach to pain and pleasure, as well as going deeper into death, transformation and fear. Most of my younger experience with the occult were established and fed by others fears and ideals around it, and I am only now in my Twenties really deconstructing these conditioned beliefs and reconstructing them to be what I need in that moment of time.

Hello, nice to meet you. Let me introduce myself. Chaos Witcher , Dark indigo aura. Abilities discovered since childhood . Artist, channeling, channeling , summoning, necromancer, astral projection and remote viewing, mind trickster, telepathy, distant mind comunication (the shine)etc. I use a mixed combination of asian, african, american, european traditions. But lately I'm starting to thing that all those rituals are just spiritual crutches and that the only thing I need to do magick is my mind, my will and to be focused.anyway I feel so happy to have found a specimen like you.
I love the color of your nails

Kelly Ann-Maddox loving your blunt honesty. I enjoy learning from witches who visit both sides of the spectrum. Left-hand and right-hand. I firmly believe that as witches, knowledge is quite important. Even if we choose not to ever act on or practice with it. Blessed be!)0(

Jerome Alexandre Thanks. :) I'm planning some further lessons in chaos magick and then I will design a course this year which can be purchased in one go and done in one's own time. Nothing I've explained in this video is any different to what people could read in Phil Hine's book, 'Condensed Chaos', however I think people appreciate the interactive aspect when learning, so the course could be more helpful than another book on the topic because it will involve further video workshops and audio files. An exciting project for me. :) Thanks for watching!

I would love to see you do a show about how you found the friends in chaos magic. I'm in Sin Sity Nevada USA and Chaos magik was not part of our culture like it was in the U.K.

I love your idea of a magical record book. Would you be able to make a video on your process and possibly show how you organize yours? I am debating using a book versus a binder. Any input would be awesome 🤔

Thank you! I've considered myself a Wiccan for many years but lately have been wanting to come back and revisit what my beliefs are. A friend told me about Chaos Magick and I think my beliefs might align better with Chaos Magick than Wicca. I'm still learning though. :)

OMG, this is a huge topic. To me the caveat boils down not so much to the hesitation about its reality but to the possibility of what I often read from Jung and his disciples, namely, in their expression - based on their hands-on clinical experiences - the looming capacity of the unconscious to devour our frail ego-consciousness. Aside from the magickal practice, I'm not even sure if I dare to read Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar, let alone go any further in becoming immersed in something about which I have less than a modicum of insight. Thank you for bringing this up, it really interests me, despite my immediate neurotic reaction.

Do you think that this overt caution might be 'chaos magick specific' in a way? I've come across quite a few people who have claimed to be interested in it but unwilling to get involved because they'd heard from others that it was dangerous or because it just seemed like a slippery road to madness.. For me, I think it's been a road to ultimate personal freedom and discovery; sticking doggedly to one tradition would have been the road to madness in my case! I need to feel free to take from wherever I wish.
One thing that I think freaks people out is the idea that chaotes use belief like other people use spices and flavourings in food. Chaotes choose what to believe and then convince themselves of it. But it's not as scary as it sounds. Actually, it's just like being a method actor each time. And the general result of actually doing that over a number of years is that you feel like you've lived a great many times and can appreciate different points of view.
The Bell Jar is indeed intense. But I reckon 'Naked Lunch' by William Burroughs is the book most likely to take one over the edge. Of course I've read it more than once.. I just love to stay on my toes, haha!
      Thank you for watching.

Chaos magic gave me the freedom to stop trying to convince myself of parts of pagan beliefs (like I did when I was Christian) and gave me the power to say "this is bullshit" and move on to something useful to myself.

interesting how you talk about 'being always right' as standing in the way of feeling free of experimenting when in my way of seeing things it's the exact opposite. Being always right for me means trust in who I am now and that any decision I make is good no matter if it gives me the result I expected or it takes me on a completely different path...if that makes sense :P But I like how you talk in general.....I'm just like 8 min in the video :P
