I think many of the 'claimed' dyno's figures are actually bullshit. The way some 'tuners' calibrate the dyno, and calculate the loss/corrected power, is a joke. Of course, headline figures sell, so if you can offer somebody a remap to 450bhp, and another tuner only offers a 400bhp remap, then people are going to come to you. I took my stock M140i (2017) for a map, it made 336bhp standard. The tuner said it was bang on, and claimed his dyno was actually accurate. After a remap it made 411bhp & 576nm torque, with a very linear power curve, almost identical to the factory map. I think this is realistic, and a genuine number, unlike some of the tuners who dyno stock at 370bhp and give a remap to 450bhp ! Edit : This was with no mods at all. I think, to get a genuine 450/460 bhp the car definitely needs downpipe, possibly exhaust, and a free-flowing air filter.
Love your videos!. Not only this one but in some others also, great explanation of how all parameters: boost, throttle, timing, etc... work together! 5 star videos you do!. and 5 start tune!
@@NVMotorsportUK so you’d expect low 600s with stock fuel pump and high 600s with upgrades HPFP? Looking at some other b58s you have tuned, some of them stage 2 are getting high 600s with no mention of HPFP? Thanks
Brilliant vid looking to get my 2016 m240i to stage 2 however I'm a bit concerned of longevity of engine auto transmission etc. Plus I heard there may be some unusual smells due to the decat can anyone help cheers.
Hi just wondering if anyone can help, I’m looking at stage 2 remapping my bmw 325d lci e92 with the n57 engine. Would the piper cross air filter be good enough? Also if anyone could recommend an intercooler. Any helps appreciated thanks
All our tuning is based on development of around 100 dyno hours with rigorous road tests before we release any tuning for a model/engine. Further more the steps we take as per vlog ensure the best reliability.
@@NVMotorsportUK Only reason I want to know, is because I am buying an M140i later this year, and thinking about stage 2 tuning, but I cannot be arsed faffing about swapping the exhaust back every time I MOT it.
Feel ya pain Nik would live a stage 2 on mine also but again when it comes to MOT ur screwed. You can still do a stage 1 and keep the gpf with fairly decent results.
Torque is relative to load in most circumstances when manufactures create linearization. That is direct to an optimum torque to load map. Torque monitoring and torque targeting are two different factors utilising the same methodology.
NV Motorsport UK oh okay, I never knew that as I’m new to all this. Which sounds better in your opinion. Do the different exhaust options vary in sound, is there not much difference between say the scorpion, fi, akra etc.
It’s good to see someone actually explaining exactly what they’re doing.
This brother knows what his doing.
Experience and knowledge in cars
Interesting. First M140 in standard form that’s hit less than the claimed 340bhp. They are normally 360+
Probably because our dyno measures parasitic loss and doesnt use a database multiplier
Yea I can confirm I have a stock gpf m240i only mod is a pwc exhaust mod. After modding the exhaust I get loads more crackle on a stock map
THEG12EG I also have a gpf m240i. How much was the pwc exhaust mod?
Shahid Hussain I cant remember 300 I think? If you sign up to LLF card you get discount. Mod is great tho I get I little drone from the centre pipe.

You're very knowledgeable and get straight to the point. If I was going to mod my m140i I would definatley pay you guys a visit.
Glad I watched this.. thank you for giving novices like me a concise insight into how works are carried out🙏🏼
You guys need to explode this channel
man spoke french for 13 minutes
bonjour mon frère, apprends le français
😂
tres bien !
I love their knowledge and understanding of all tuning aspects. If I get a M2 it’s going to them without a shadow of a doubt..
That's a cracking result.
Amazing results 👌
dam.. 460hp :O only with those mods.
More m140i videos please! Great video
Really good work your doing there dude! Enjoy your Chanel will subscribe.
🙏
Well done, thats a great tune!
Wow that’s amazing result 👍
Very informative video as always 👍 in the market for a 140i soon
I no were to come
🙏
Can it be equipped with massive exhaust like ones in VW MK,,and Audis????
Dang I wish we got the 1 series hatch in the states that be fun car
And i wish we could drive around in V8’s because fuel & road tax prices weren’t a total scam.
had my 123d bi turbo stage 2 mapped from NVM years back know their shit
🙏
Another great video.
Well explained 👍
Why no M140 in the USA tho
Why is the torque so low for a stage 2? Usually you see 600nm on a stage 1 and around 650-700nm on a stage 2? Thanks
600nm for solid hpfp target 200bar. 650nm with 140bar.. higher the torque the more the stock pump will struggle.

How reliable will the car be running at this much extra power?
Did the stock exhaust need to be cut to be removed? I'd like to have the option to refit it if needed as I'm on a pcp deal.
No cut

We have been tuning the b58 for over 3 years.. the zf8 for 6 years.. never seen any concerns from them without due cause.
Very informative video thx, might pay you a visit some time, can you fit lsd too?

What's the cost of all the world done here?
update us on the n55 m2 big boost please :)
Will be soon.. winter season in UK means not much data acquisitions.
I think the owner should think about cooling. I think cooling is more important than adding power to a MODIFIED car.
We have csf oil cooler and charge rad upgrades available
what spoiler is this?
What modell bmw ?
How was the torque 495nm initial run and the same after mods on finale run? 140hp gain but torque was the same... maybe you just misspoke??
Put volume up. 595nm is what i said
It actually made more torque post vlog as we added some timing.
Maybe I misheard 😉
Have you heard of such an upgrade on this car lead to reliability issues, or is it very safe

I'd be interested to know how the emissions are after this stage 2 tune. Would it still pass an MOT the same ?

Whats the cost of mods and the tune? 460 in these with an LSD would make it a real weapon

How does the engine/ecu know how much torque it make? Since it's trying to reduce it

Where are you lads located? I want my brothers M140i tuned by you

How is this able to get more power than the m2 n55
Maybe because its a far superior engine and turbo from factory...

Was this bhp or whp figures on these dyno pulls??? Solid numbers either way, nicely done...
How much for all of this
Click www.nvmotorsport.com/contact-us
thats epic loose so much power with the cats and the particle bullshitter 462 would be enough when I get the 3rd M140i
Where's this rear spoiler from?
ArmyTrix or Akrapovic or better ?
I'd say for performance Akrapovic is better... for the whole benefit of sound control (valve system) then Armytrix will be better I believe
