This is one of the best ambulance builds I’ve seen! I love everything. The sliding bug screens are ingenious! Good use of the space over the cab for storage.
Lots of ingenuity and hard work went into this ambulance. In the process of buying an ambulance now, and I hope no copyright infringement, but I'm stealing some of these ideas. Thanks for the tour. Cheers!
Jesper Hansen thank you 🙏. The garbage being outside of my bedroom is a must, especially on my trip to Costa Rica and back when I had hot humid nights. Hot trash is no fun to be around haha
The whole thing is set up well, but the high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail made all the difference. That woodwork is first rate. You got mad skills, dood. Very nice.
Two things, the more converted ambulances I see, the more I think they are better than van or class b+ RVs in terms of enough space, but not too big, and that table is the best RV table I have ever seen, custom or manufacturer!
Great set up. Probably the best i've seen in this kind of car and space. I live on a 27 feet sailboat my self, kylix 27, most people think it's too small, especially in Denmark, where they need at least 100 sq.m. each. But i love my boat. I'm 193 cm, 50 years old, and I don't understand the need of a huge apartment or house that just demands a lot of energy use.
Jan Sveen hi Jan, thank you for the complement. I almost did the boat thing as I've grown up near a harbor and have a mooring there. I once owned a 1948 42ft Anglmen built wooden ketch but ended up giving her away to backpack the world. I love my ambulance but dream of life at sea often. One of these days I'll sail away for a year in the South Pacific with my only worry being in the wind. I think you're right about not needing so much space, the ambo has proven to be enough for me and much easier to take care of than 100sqm home
I saw the video again. Truly beautiful woodwork with inlaid wood strips. Loved the foldout table, the compact kitchen with the subway tile, and the layout. Every cabinet door is well made. Entire van is so functional. I've done a lot of remodeling on my van too but no videos yet. If you are ever in the San Jose area, let me know. I would love to see this van for myself and absorb some of your talents.
Nice to see someone with an appreciation for timber and the finer nuances of interior decor do one of these. Magnets are such a great idea! Utilising a hammock is a no brainer in these things, though I rarely see it. AC is the crown. Beautiful!
I love the fact that you took the time to make it look really cool. Some ambulance conversions just seem to add a lounge fold out bed and call it done. Where as yours has some really nice woodwork and some original ideas.
Octodad thanks! This video was made about 9 months in on a year long trip from California to Costa Rica and back. I didn’t the video while in Honduras.
That’s seriously a really pretty table! I like how you personalized it with all the wood. The ambulance is an interesting concept. I think I’d get depressed with the industrial look but you really changed it up to make it work!
SORRY COULD ONLY GET OUT THE WOW THE FIRST TIME BUT I'M DOING THE SAME. .. AN 🚑... THE WOOD WORK, TABLE, KITCHEN, YOU HAVE DONE AN AMAZING JOB..THE STORAGE IS INSANE WHICH I LOVE ABOUT THESE VEHICLE'S.... AND TO HAVE THE LIGHTS AND 🚨 WOULD TEMPT ME TO USE EVETY TIME THERE IS A RED LIGHT AT 2 A.M. AND NO ONE IS AROUND... VERY COOL
That kitchen and the way you made that fold out table really good. The whole thing really the wardrobe and the storage compartments. Continue enjoying and have a safe trip. From Australia.
It looks like if you want a diy RV get a box type ambulance. It has everything you'll need (heat, air, insulation, storage, electrical, ect... ), just build and install anything else you feel is needed and enjoy. ;-) I'd add some solar to supplement any power needs.
I saw a video on using a Tesla battery pack (4"? x 18"? x 30"?) versus regular batteries that are heavier, cost more and are less capable (powerful). The biggest drawback is setting it up, if the other components aren't compatible and especially the heat monitoring system settings (in pack and around it) are wrong you can kill the battery pack, or worse have a fire that's nearly impossible to put out.
Dude your ingenuity really made a good work. And coming from a tropical country, I can say that the hammock is really a great idea. Good for hiding in plain sight.
Really beautiful job. Loved the wood work so much of course. Wish you would have stepped back a bit to pan the inside so we could take in each part of the build. Seems like a really restful environment.
Dude ,that is one bad ass rig. This is the best example of what I want to build. I'm about a year away from doing exactly the same thing that you're doing.
Never seen a magnetic dish rack that's an idea. Also sleeping in a hammock (when you feel like setting it up) instead of a bed, not bad. Thank you for the tour. I appreciate it since I decided to vanlife about 3 weeks ago. Just looking at different options for now to see what's for me. It's probably going to be an ambulance conversion.
George Ros no need to be young George, I met a 70 year old couple in Guatemala in a van and they were telling me a story of an 82 year old dude they met in New Zealand that was buying, fixing, traveling in then selling vans. Go for it George!
VERY impressed. Beautiful craftsmanship throughout. Well designed - except for absence of a toilet.
Beautiful craftsmanship with your wood working! !
Meet Virginia thank you
Wow...Amazing craftmanship....So beautifully done.. Love the fold out table. Thank you for the video..
you're welcome, thank you for the nice comment
Love your home Lots of wonderful storage .🎉 And your inside table is a great idea.🎉
Real nice woodwork in this build, and I like the magnet above the sink idea. May have to steal that one for my build

Oh my Lord! The mindfulness attention to detail and workmanship!
Nice setup. Your woodworking is especially very beautiful.
I like how its lived in. Also the magnetic dish idea. Oh the hammock. Yessss.
The woodwork is really something special! And great idea with the garbage can... :)
Jesper Hansen thank you 🙏. The garbage being outside of my bedroom is a must, especially on my trip to Costa Rica and back when I had hot humid nights. Hot trash is no fun to be around haha
This is GREAT!!! --- SO much soul!!! Way to go!

Leslie Fischer thank you ☺️
Great Craftsmanship. Well thought out👍👍👍. Thanks
The whole thing is set up well, but the high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail made all the difference. That woodwork is first rate. You got mad skills, dood. Very nice.
Absolutely Breathtaking wood work!!!!
Nice build. I love all the woods and woodworking.
Love your ambulance! I have had my road recuse for 13 years now. Ambulances make the most amazing campers!
Bucky Snorts totally agree. Glad to hear you’ve been rocking an ambo for so long
Oh my gosh love the kitchen tiles, spice Rack. So nice magnetic strip. Like table. Nice so nice
Two things, the more converted ambulances I see, the more I think they are better than van or class b+ RVs in terms of enough space, but not too big, and that table is the best RV table I have ever seen, custom or manufacturer!
I agree, it’s a huge rig but fits in a normal parking space. The table, like most everything in my rig is very custom and built my my father and I.
Great set up. Probably the best i've seen in this kind of car and space. You think that this guy really lives in it?
Wow! That is amazing! The woodwork is beautiful and it appears that you put a great deal of thought into maximizing storage. Impressive!

Nice to see someone with an appreciation for timber and the finer nuances of interior decor do one of these. Magnets are such a great idea! Utilising a hammock is a no brainer in these things, though I rarely see it. AC is the crown. Beautiful!

Beautiful work on the teak. Some one on a boat would love your skills

I'd add some solar to supplement any power needs.
i didn't have the money for solar when i did my build but it's for sure the best way to go
I saw a video on using a Tesla battery pack (4"? x 18"? x 30"?) versus regular batteries that are heavier, cost more and are less capable (powerful).

Carole Steinberg thanks, I thought the magnet trick was pretty clever myself when I thought of it 👌🏽😉
Dude ,that is one bad ass rig. This is the best example of what I want to build. I'm about a year away from doing exactly the same thing that you're doing.
