From experience I've had in the role for 9 years. Once you have the details needed to work out where you are sending officers, what is going on (so to determine if a response is immediately required), you work out if you need to give instructions for safety (ie move away, lock yourself in a room). Yeah right. Had Chainsaw Chaco chose to hurt people, which he could have easily done, the "boys" and their fancy training (which apparently includes the tactical deployment of landscaping rocks) wouldn't have appeared so stellar.
If your barely informed on the laws, and not completely socially inept, you can definitely tell the difference between good and bad policing. I’ve seen a lot of videos where a suspect is very much down but they wait ages to render aid. But of course people can “play dead” or “re-animate”. It’s all dependent on the situation. Gg
I mean its kinda Corney... Like get real you know the dude is dead just get the guy out Jesus Christ, its a show for PR at that point. I would refuse to do CPR on a dude that has 4 rounds in his head, its a show code. WE DONT WORK TRAUMA CODES!

@investigativeoutcomes9343 umm not really it will put a hole in the window but not bust out the window.. if you wanna pick that statement apart just watch the video at 7:25. Stop asking dumb questions
Right, asking for a description of the guy *with the CHAINSAW* because he'll be hard to miss... Asking if the chainsaw is still running... Does it matter? How old is he, what color bla bla bla... Inane. Getting a description was pointless as the suspect was already in a car when the cops arrives; they never saw him and the only reason they knew he was in that car is because the unarmed civilians he was endangering _told_ them he was there. Well done boys!
That was actually a good dispatcher. Not sure if the running of the chainsaw mattered. But the officers definitely needed a description, that’s all standard stuff.
@@Zuul47 This is one of the best dispatchers I've heard in a long time. She was calm, professional, and got the basic information. As she types, the person on the radio and officers can see it in real time. She's doing exactly what she's supposed to do; she has officers enroute, updates them with important details, communicates with the caller that officers are enroute and she wants more details, and most importantly keeps the caller on the phone in case something major happens. If the bad guy starts cutting through the door to get at the caller that's something officers would probably want to know. If someone walked in and the bad guy started hacking them up officers would probably like to know that. In this case it would have been beneficial to know he had left, gone out to a blue car in the parking lot, but that information wasn't available to the officers. Also keeping a caller on the line, even if someone thinks it's just to ask stupid or inane questions, it keeps the caller occupied. Allowing a caller to hang up makes them feel abandoned and isolated. She is a consummate professional. I have heard recordings of dispatchers who heard someone get raped, someone get murdered. I know of at least one case where a murder victim identified her killer on the 911 tape, that identification was totally admissible in court. At least it was at the time, now with criminals having more rights than victims possibly not. If I called 911 in a case like this I wouldn't let the dispatcher hang up. I'm going to narrate every single thing that happens, in case I have to defend myself I want EVERYTHING recorded. It's going to sound like an NFL play by play broadcast. They won't have to ask any questions, I'll be spitting details out so fast they won't be able to keep up.

For anyone that thinks this is a 'bad shoot': for any of these videos more than a few months old, you can usually find the DA's report online by searching for the names in the description. They're usually interesting reads, and all the facts/statements are reviewed by an actual lawyer familiar with laws/statutes. The DA concluded this man posed a serious and demonstrated risk of injury/death to public/cops, and lethal force is justified. This report even addresses idiot commenters with NV law: "If necessary to prevent escape, an officer may, after giving a warning, if feasible, use deadly force to effect the arrest of a person only if there is probable cause to believe that the person...poses a threat of serious bodily harm to the officer or to others.”

Thank your local Soros prosecutor.
I mean it was legally dubious shooting. There's not a clear immediate threat to human life. Early morning, streets are clear, no one was trageted with the car directly, it was clear at the time of the shooting the car was damaged enough that a pursuit would be short.
Evidently the DA's office weighed up these facts against the officers justifications and chose not charge them. The legal process is slow but it's what we got.

If your barely informed on the laws, and not completely socially inept, you can definitely tell the difference between good and bad policing.

Thanks for doing the homework. My thoughts precisely. He posed a demonstrable danger to The Wider community.
