I too agree with you, him being goofy is actually a good thing because when he was strict, he kinda came off as a bit of a dick imo. I think it mostly has to do with the new 3d art style. Since the original series was presented as a someone reading a book to you, the characters themselves didn't have to move as much. Now since it's being presented as an actual cartoon, it relies more on visual gags then listening to the story.

People bring up how Sir Topham Hatt has been made too goofy in the CGI series, though I truly do believe this was a good decision to make. It shows he's not ALL a strict boss, but he also has h8s moments of being gentle, funny, and actually has a softer side to him. People bring up how Sir Topham Hatt has been made too goofy in the CGI series, though I truly do believe this was a good decision to make. It shows he's not ALL a strict boss, but he also has h8s moments of being gentle, funny, and actually has a softer side to him. Of course, when he needs to, he DOES become the voice of reason when necessary. But sonce we see this side of him too, it shows he truly does care about his engines.
Some part of me winders if this was done in response to all the dumb articles explaining how Topham is supposedly an "authoritarian dictator" and blah blah blah.I feel a few changes could be made, but im glad we get to see this side of him. Hell, we even saw his goofy side in the CLASSIC SERIES. Does no one remember those?

@@robbiewalker2831 Yeah, and besides, because he refused to listen to Thomas and just yelled at him like an incompetent jerk in Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure, instead, he deserved bad luck, fair and square, and even if he realized that what he did was wrong and apologized to Thomas for making that mistake, he still would have to suffer from bad luck, because sometimes, apologizing isn't enough to undo the wrong thing he did.
@@Shanali-ry1nlI mean that's how strict he is whenever an engine causes trouble, thomas had caused to much trouble in Sodors legend lost treasure so him seeing Thomas chasing Ryan with dynamite was probably the last straw

This is a montage of clips from the CGI era of Thomas and Friends where Sir Topham Hatt is tortured and abused but is done in a Surprisingly decent or hilarious and funny way instead of a heartbreaking and mean-spirited way and since the railway director deserves it as laser-guided karma and his comeuppances for his past strict and jerkass actions towards Thomas and the engines of Sodor (With the dynamite incident scene in Thomas and Sodor’s Legend of the Lost Treasure being the best example.) to make him a karma houdini no more with these episodes also being called, “Sir Topham Hatt Karma Trips” or “Sir Topham Hatt Torture Done Right”.
Poor guy, usually he's a respectable boss but in this compilation, he's the butt of all jokes.
I believe Sir Topham Hatt should have his own television show.
