I'm worried about Justin. He's very good on screen, infectious positive personality. I feel he could get lost in the shuffle. I'm not sure he 'fits' BigTime, but he will be wasted at Donut.
In my ideal timeline, the rest of the donut boys slowly migrate over to Big Time and the only donut host left will be that Jimmy kid they've been pairing with Nolan. 😂 Though realistically, it would probably be everyone but Pumphrey. He really strikes me as someone that will do his own thing.
All three BigTime videos have been on the trending top 5. Between big movie trailers and music videos that get 5-10 million views. Its insane. I’m proud of them for doing their own thing and thriving
I mean you and I both know it's the opposite. That might be keeping Donut "alive" for you, but it's the "Guess the price" and "Stuff off Ali express" vids that get the most views because, while obviously being lower quality content, appeals to a broader audience. An audience who also doenst give a shit about all this internal drama stuff. Donut is not gonna slow down.
not really like they had a choice, jer and job werent happy with the conditions and how the videos were being made that was all the higher ups choices.
I've never in my life tried or wanted to rebuild any kind of engine, but Jobe made his rebuild so entertaining, I watched the whole thing. And also don't want a tractor, but seeing Jeremiah buy one was cool, too. I'm hoping it goes well for them.
What gives me hope for big time is if you watch the newest episode on them buying the big rig you can tell. There’s a lot of passion and energy put into the video. Jeremiah dives into the mechanics and working of the engine the same way he used to do those engineering segments on donut
It's all about the talent not the brand it doesn't matter if you have a billion dollar production company no one's going to care if you don't have talent that people want to see
Donut killed the “Giveaway a blank if they can fix it” video series a long time ago because we hated it and they admitted as much. Putting up this video with Justin feels like a sue eh side attempt by donut.
Good point at the end about things coming fast and going quickly. A lot of people watched all the guys together at Donut because they worked well together. If they all spilt into their own channels they might not be able to recreate the lightning in the bottle that made them so big in the first place. Or keep it going after the initial buzz and excitement.
Everyone is blowing this way out of proportion. Donut content is still enjoyable, and big time is a great project of that duo. Making drama out of nothing
Exactly. People can enjoy both things. While I'm not interested in all the "we try car products from Temu" videos I still think the bulk of stuff from Donut is good. But I am glad that Jerry and Job are slitting off to do things they enjoy. No reason to pick sides
big time is going to bring in all the guys, like me, who miss the old fun educational donut but that is only a fraction of the subscribers donut has now. most subs now are there for the new video types, the mindless comparisons, reactions, and throwing expensive parts into cheap car videos
And that’s the thing - they can’t sustain those kind of numbers with videos about how to fix up engines. They need to make the videos that appeal to a larger audience which is what makes them money.
The love of money. The desire for fame and glo al recognition. It takes down the best of them, DONUT included. I remember James being psyched that zumies got on board. At that time i thought their selling out to corporate greed will be their downfall. Well now... When Jeremiah was on High Side/Low Side for the season finale, when you listen to him, you can hear a true passion for what he loves doing. Big Time is gonna be just that: BIG TIME. Without any corporate greed hacks telling them what thay can do and IF they can do it.
freeze at 38 seconds, you cannot tell me the top shelves are not level with each other compared to the brick mortar joint. i will not stop until this is fixed
It will be a good thing for donut if they lose a little bit and end up with some competition. Competition gives you a point to measure yourself from, now they have a literal direct competitor. Other car channels are different and are competition it isnt the same. I think high car/low car could be a good series the two channels could colab on. One does high the other does low.
I remember James and Bart running in the Gambler 500 pre-donut. There are segments and hosts I miss. But Donut without James is flat Nolan and James together were the classic straight man/ fool like Laurel and Hardy or Abbott and Costello. Big Time is starting to seem like the Odd Couple Matthau/Lemons version.
"Hey, bosses at Donut. Can we buy a $10K 50 year old big rig for the channel and like $200 for fuel, car wash and a padlock?" Donut .... "No, but you can shoot a commercial or review Temu products."
I also thought Big Time was exactly the sameexcept for the name. Even the Logo has the same or very simar style. I wonder if that could come back and bite them in the ass later in case Donut wanted to mess with the I would like to see theorncontent but with their own theme.
Doesn't help that donuts video released at the same time was content people have voiced displeasure about, the give it if you make it run etc series, and they seem to do better views with cars than they do with off-road and trucks. Bad choice of drop to compete at the same time.
The hype will die down. Everyone just wants to know what's going on right now and BigTime launched directly from a Donut video. They already had a huge audience set up.
I'm super happy for the guys but there is no way Big Time stays at 1m+ views per vid. even car guys admit that talking about engines and stuff is SUPER boring to non-car people, and the content Donut have been making recently appeals to the "RUclips browsers" as much as it does car guys. I'm super happy for both of them and I hope they find success and contentment with a smaller and more focussed audience.
Honestly I wouldn't consider BigTime a new channel, it's the content we love with the host we like, all their missing is James and Nolan to be back to the old format. Donut on the other hand feels like it ran its course without them.
I don't understand where you guys are coming off with this info when the actual guys have already explained themselves. But then again y'all have bills to pay and Yellow Journalism pays all the bills nowadays.
I watched both of those videos Jobe and Jeremiah were in both 😂😂 I couldn’t watch Big Time’s second video though with the semi, I didn’t really have interest in a semi video
I understand the hate but dont know why its so sudden after Bigtime started. more than half the stuff i see people hating on Donut for, they have been doing for years. people calling them a corporate sellout even though they were bought in 2021 and no one said anything till recently even when they did videos or worse or similarly quality to today and not a word back then Plus that thumbnail is such clickbait, of course, they are gonna get more views, its 3 times the views but the topic of the video, of course, is gonna get more views, people have been waiting on that video for 4+ years now. Of course, its gonna get more, if it was a ranger video the same day then the views would be a lot closer.
I watched the Big Time semi truck video and thought it was silly (phony), overly scripted and basically irrelevant to anyones real life situation: let's see if we can make this modified tractor trailer into our everyday driver? Why? The engine rebuild video at least offered a ton of great information about the process of completely rebuilding a motor. Take it from the man.
People always talked about how donut videos are unrealistic to the normal person, putting $100k parts into a $500 truck, but they just bought a tractor trailer because the normal person wants a tractor trailer 🤷
I'm worried about Justin. He's very good on screen, infectious positive personality. I feel he could get lost in the shuffle. I'm not sure he 'fits' BigTime, but he will be wasted at Donut.

I dont think Donut is going down under
and it's pretty wrong to say to they should or would
They need to get james over to big time
Justin could probably go alone, maybe with Nolan and be fine.
@DerfOrNuffin no, they really don't. He doesn't fit their vibe.
bigtime: donut has become too corporate
donut next day: drops 20 minute ad on a chinese electric car
All three BigTime videos have been on the trending top 5. Between big movie trailers and music videos that get 5-10 million views. Its insane.
I’m proud of them for doing their own thing and thriving
Their channel hit 1 million subscribe before they even had launched their 2nd video
all those ideas that got shot down are now getting millions of views elsewhere
Right now it seems like the only thing keeping Donut alive are Angelina and Sandro on "Real Mechanic Stuff".
They could easily start their own channel. I'd love to see a how to repair series with Sandro and Angelina showing how to do stuff
Yeah and I think they’re running a side channel too, like, not directly Donut
They both their own business or careers so likely don't have the time to go alone.
I mean you and I both know it's the opposite. you can feel the passion, smiling throughout BigTime's episodes is why they are doing better. Donut lost that

He should go to Big Time 🙂

Likely an unannounced sabbatical if I had to take a guess… can’t really blame him if he was anyways.

They have been going more towards the off roading more and more, so it at least fits the trend. They probably don't know what direction to go
An honest 2 videos in, I am very surprised at the view count, but also it worries me. Like they went HUGE on the semi purchase

Maybe these big companies will realise we watch the hosts, not your bookkeeping. Without the hosts, your done!
I would love to see Jeremiah and Jobe, to get so big they get the OG’s back together.
What will be interesting to see, if after the Newness of BigTime wears off....how things stand then. I'll watch both in the mean time....
Well done guys. You crushed it. Preach it

The reason why James suddenly got a G-Wagen was probably because he made out like a bandit selling the company to a corporation.
