he’s got some sick flashy finishes and he subbed cory sandhagen in 90 seconds. he’s got good enough striking to beat good fighters and but his strength is wrestling. good enough on the feet to hang with the elite of the division but you have to go to your best weapon when you’re fighting the best. he says he’s gonna strike with tj to “prove” something but that is how he will lose. if he wrestles he can beat anybody and defend the title for a hot minute but if he tries to please fans and fights with his ego he won’t have the belt after today

Sterling didn't took any risks here in this match, Not even once. He was just holding on to body triangle and did nothing significant in his round 2&3. Yan reversed his takedown attempts and ground£ed him in round 4&5, did more significant damage. And FYI, Sterling best showing was against Cory where he submitted him as soon as he took his back. This match against Yan was literally holding for your life type of match, wasting time by just holding him with no advance or causing damage, he's just feared of getting hit.

Out of all the fighters in the UFC I find Petr Yan’s fighting style the best switching to unorthodox to orthodox, High guard with one arm sticking out to parry punches, other arm always on his face for hooks, legs always straight up and close to each other for checking kicks easily some might say it’s bad to have that Muay Thai stance like Petr Yan because it’s easier for your opponent to get a double leg take down but if you’re as good as Petr Yan you have nothing to worry about even tho he lost he’s still my favorite fighter in the UFC right now
