Flying the Helicycle "Turbinator"

- Stan Foster demonstrating his superbly constructed turbine powered Helicycle "Turbinator." This helicopter is powered by a 160HP turbine that is HP limited to 95HP. The engine was originally used to run a generator. I bought one of these machines and have yet to see it or any Helicycle. Stan had the best one around, so I flew to his shop to see it. Very impressive machine to say the least.

Lovely control ... I'm a fixed wing man in UK and in 1975 after I'd got my PPL I enquired about rotary wing lessons. The fixed wing lessons were £16 ph back then and the rotary were £50 ph. I was offered a discount of 5 hours from the then 40 required minimum (now 45 I believe) to get the rotary wing licence as I had a fixed wing licence and had I the money I'd have done it ... but alas .. I didn't. Always regretted it.
This bloke is an excellent pilot judging from what we see in the video.
Awesome helicopter, I want one! Superb flying also, so smooth. Now I want to fly like that!
Man this guy can fly. Beautiful copter and excellent flying skills.
Wow that 5 min shot of the control panel was interesting while everything to watch was going on at the turbine engine.
I'll buy one now! What a supurb machine!
I love the turbine sound! Beautiful helicopter, yeah I’m jealous
Yup The shame i like it 🙄😊👍
U
He doesnt want to fly the helicicle vertical and high
I was expecting him to start doing "tic-tocs" lol. Nice bird! I'm jealous
Love the sounds of a Turbine
By far the best minicopter i have ever seen.
Jinking about in ground-effect looks like a whole lot of fun in this thing :O)
My favorite tiny single place helo. I wished i owned & flew a jet turbine powered Helicycle!!! Fly safe dude!
Beautiful helicopter. The Joy of flying your own helicopter, is great
exceptional machine control, Awesome pilot!
Wow !! Very nice chopper and flying skills.
beautiful, impressive heli and flying skills, thanks for sharing, that has to be the most fun you can have while sitting down ! ! ! thanks for sharing
Man, I wish I had one. Looks VERY fun.
That's a very nice example. Thanks for posting 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Stan Foster must be an ex-combat pilot with those maneuvering skills? Awesome pilot and bird!
NORMAN WELCH I’m thinking Mother Rucker...
Nope. ALL can easily or at least with a good teacher learn to fly as he does in 1-2 years. Nothing more, and it look so violent when he stop but it behave that way because it's lightweight, and this is also why you never see bigger Choppers do this, they CAN, but it's harder than this actually. But it take good knowledge about his Chopper. But trust me he had a good teacher. Impossible? NO, Impressive? YES
Excellent pilot, super sweet machine
Пилот сыкло...
OK, I'm WAY Jealous!! Super nice Helicycle! I'd fly it in a sec! Love the sound of the turbine lighting off!. Nice piloting skills too! Hope you're having as much fun as it looks like it is!
Looks amazing and very maneuverable!!!
Love to get one.
What a fantastic machine, Stan, a true beauty to behold. And one that flies!
The turbine looks like the APU on the
Blackhawk. I want one of these. No SAS or pedal hold computers, but that’s what makes it fun!
Looks quite calm n stable helicopter..i liked it
Nice mechine,,, exelent performents,, and video quality also.
Excellent film footage and sound. Great dialogue.
Superb flying!
A beautiful piece of engineering
He knows how to fly. Nicely done.
In-freaking-credible! It's worth buying just for that gorgeous turbine sound!
How much would it cost ?
@@abdacnc3969 I just had a look: US$38,500 It's a kit helicopter, so you'd pay quite a bit more for one that's fully assembled. Also, I'm not at all sure that that includes the engine: gas turbines are fearfully expensive, so it wouldn't surprise me if that were the price a) for the (unassembled) kit and b) without the engine. Then, once you've got the thing up and running and you've paid for your (horrifically expensive) helicopter training, you've got the maintenance to worry about.
@@geraldheinig1473 thanks for your reply and explanation,, helicos will always cost a fortune ,,
Cool! Like that thing a bunch.
Es una preciosidad de aparato. Enhorabuena al constructor
Wow very maneuverable!
Cool machine and good pilot!
Gr job you have done
Very cool, looks like a skilled pilot, still can't decide if he's a mad man or a genius 😊😊😉😊 Him getting the tail rotor so close to the ground, even with a skid, made me feels a bit anxious!
Exelente dupla...piloto aeronave. Fantástico.
Nice Mini chopper, good flying. Great hobby, most are jealous, don't mine, keep having fun.
Youhave truly mastered flying this!
Beautiful flight excellent
A beauty machine.
AWESOME STUFF
I have to write that that is one of the most handsome choppers I have ever seen...
You're easily pleased! Although, for a kit built helo, it is good looking.
No, it’s really a good looking unit.
@@heli-crewhgs5285 it just takes $ lol
I dream about these things all the time, so fascinating 😍🙌🏽
Nice approach !!! ;-)
"he's flying low we're going to have rain." Just kidding, great video, nice helicopter. Cool

Cute little heli. 👍🏼😎
My dear you have done an incredible job. So keep sharing
👌 Fantastic, beautiful, lovely 😍, love it
Nice quick stop.
The Helicycle was conceived and designed by B.J. Schramm (Buford John Schramm) , the founder of RotorWay International. B.J Schramm was killed in a Helicycle crash on 28.4.2004.
His dream in life was that every American home should have a helicopter in their driveway. His first helicopter was the Scorpion.
Impressionante como é bem equilibrado e de fácil manejo. Belo helicóptero e bom piloto. Parabéns.
Is, very good
Wonderful .
Nice flying
Great job
For all the helicycle a saw,you’re have the best leg-pad looking 👀 ❤😊.have a nice fly !😊
Very good!
I’d watch it with those quick stops man, wouldn’t want to crash that beauty.
O M G ! HOW AMAZING

Espetáculo acabamento
Ótimo piloto pouso e decolagens
Perfeitas Hoverando muito bm
One sweet bird............thanks
What make and model Turbine is that? Man, what an incredible job you've done, thanks for sharing
Solar T62-32
Verry good...smart inovation...
Great copter just looks like everything is in it's place and balanced I'd been in small fixed wings many times but never a helicopter my first time in a helicopter the instructor said this is just like a fixed wing and as soon as we leave the ground we're flying and he went straight up to about 40 ft and hoovered I said now this is flying had a great time
Woow very impressive piloting
Nice unit, looks and sounds great
How fun that must be. So cool you can own your own helicopter now and take off from your yard
What a sound!
That guy flys like he's a veteran Cobra pilot.
People don't realize that flying in low tight spots is more dangerous and requires more skill and control than flying high does.
Flying low DOES make it easier to film and see the heli in flight.
This guy can fly for sure!
Skills
IMHO, A single-seat heli- is a complete waste except as a very expensive toy.
Terry Isaac and what’s wrong with having an expensive toy?
Fly's like he's a little bird pilot from the 160th SOAR (A). NSDQ!!!
Do you really think that people would not realize that flying in tight spots low to the ground requires more skill? I understand that many people aren't very smart..however, that's pretty obvious.
That's a beautiful machine. I wish I had it and you had a nicer one! I'm flying an R 44 Raven and I would love to build a Helicycle.
Que lindo helicoptero , tiene muy buenas maniobras , tecnologia y los controles estan muy compactos para poder usarlo de manera mas efectiva
The guy flies that thing like I fly my drone! Good piloting. . would have liked to see him go above the trees once - also if possible in future can you leave it go the extra seconds until the engines completely stopped? Love the sounds.
thanks for a good video.
Search - Stan Foster There are plenty of other videos. 11 000' high + low, fast and slow.
@@nssherlock4547 cheers
Looks AWESOME! So when is the fenestrated tail rotor version coming out?
Fenestron is way over complex for something this small. If you have that kind of money why not build a NoTAR or hell a mini CH-46 type ?
Marshall Smith™ j
“Fenestrated.”
Супер вертолёт! Создателю Браво!!!
Beautipul helicopter good luck RUclipsr...👍👍
Stam , where did you buy the wide landing struts instead of useing the rouond bar type? The really look good.
Very nice you have to be a military pilot at one time or still are really enjoyed this video 😃👍👍👍👍
Say what you say, no one can't say that he has the heli on the tips of his fingers! This guy us awesome!!!
You make it look so easy!! I want to ditch jets.
No, don't ditch jets! Give them to the Yazidi chicks so they can use them to open a can of ultrasupermega whupazz on the daeshbags!
Good job mr
Hezeus Christo. Dragging that tail made me nervous enough to yell whoaaaah at a video
Awesome pilot , would love to learn how to fly a helicopter , just never had the money :-) .. Oh well maybe in a different life .. Awesome job ..
Wow amazing
Amazing
Why all the switches? Have a controller managing the sequences.
Outstanding
Stan's machine is exceptional and his flying skills are solid, especially considering that he is a fairly new heli pilot. If you want to see a real life emergency auto he did simply go to his channel and watch a 40 MPH run-on landing he did when the flame went out at 150 ft and 40 MPH forward speed. It was interesting to say the least.
Where is the engine sourced from? make and model please...
@@briantracy1324 It's all here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eagle_Helicycle
Don't know much about Helicopters but I can recognize an expert pilot when I see one. I'm guessing decades of experience. Viet Nam maybe? Eight years later but this was just recommended to me.
Still flying this Helicycle and your Review, Plz, on this Helicopter or another Helicopter Recommendation for a New Helio Pilot! Thumbs Up on this 8yr Old, Still Impressive, Video!
Amazing skill
Awesome machine... I want one!
