I ran into Haywood Nelson on a NYC transit bus in 1982 or 1983. The bus had a long ride from midtown to Harlem so I got the opportunity to speak with him for a good while. When I asked him why was he on a NYC public bus instead of out in Hollywood acting, he explained he had left acting and he had returned to NYC, his hometown, to study for a career in engineering. A great memory
What's Happening was a breath of fresh air during the 70s. We finally saw ourselves on Television and it was a delight. God bless the cast members that made my youth recognize the struggle. R.I.P.🙏🏽
And they were going to record a bootleg copy and the tape recorder fell out and they gave rerun a good talking to about how it’s not cool to bootleg concerts. Except bootleg concert tapes Always sounded like crap and I don’t think any band ever lost a single sale from someone saying, “I don’t need to buy the studio album now because I have this crappy bootleg copy recorder from a device that was shoved inside someone’s jacket. You get a feel of the crowd and the “live” band with all their mistakes and odd sounds and unique events that you might not otherwise get but no fan wouldn’t buy the official recording just because they have the bootleg.

I had been scheduled to audition for the role of Raj in NYC. My audition was on a Tuesday. I was a sophomore in High School and was excused to go to ABCs studio early. Instead my dumb ass succumbed to peer pressure and I went to smoke some weed with some 'friends'. Watching this served as a reminder of what could have been...
Maybe it was a blessing in disguise at the time and saved your life. If your mindset at the time succumbed to smoking weed, imagine if you got the part with tons of money and fame. What drugs would you have indulged in? Sometimes, things are blessings in disguise but we can't see it at the time.
Still he has to wonder EVERYDAY what if he HAD got the part. Would he be wealthy today? I would wonder the same thing everyday 🤔. There is no law saying you HAVE to get involved in alcohol or drugs. I'm 62 and never got into cigarettes, alcohol, weed, or tried drugs.

Diabetes is one of the most debilitating and immobile disease there is.my entire fire suffered from this horrible disease, until they all succumbed.eight people on all.how unfortunately.i 'm glad they are mo longer suffering.still,i wish they were here.i was fortunate to dodge diabetes,i got heart issues instead.i don't know what's worse.no longer are they with us,but,i hope they are with our lord Jesus...
