    Jimmy Buffett isn't really country, but you do have to hear "Wasting Away in Margaritaville" to get that reference from this song.

    • @kurtsaxton823
      @kurtsaxton823 2 года назад +5

      It really depends on what you think is country, born in Pascagoula Mississippi and alot of his songs you won't get the full meaning of unless you are from the Gulf Coast, he has a huge catalog of music, and a lot of it does focus on the beachcomber lifestyle, but he is as Southern as you can get.

      @@pageribe2399 I used to cut Jimmy's aunt's grass in Pass Christian when I was a teenager. My friend's dad was actually one of his teachers for his short stint at Southern Miss. I still live on the Mississippi Coast and pretty much everybody down here has somebody that either knows him or knows a family member. A lot of people don't realize where Jimmy buffett's actually from he's not from Florida which a lot of people think he is, I can see you understand and it doesn't get any more Southern than the coast down here. And you can definitely hear a little bit of country in a lot of his music.

    Jimmy Buffett is a singer-songwriter, musician & actor. His songs have such a laid back island feel to them. I had a couple of his albums. He had a lot of hits especially in the 70's-80's such as “Son Of Son Of A Sailor”, “Fins”, “He Went To Paris”, “Cheeseburger In Paradise”, “A Pirate Looks At Forty”, “One Particular Harbor”, "Come Monday", “Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes”, “Volcano”, “Boat Drinks”, “Pencil Thin Mustache” etc.

    Jimmy Buffet!! Fantastic song writer/singer and an American legend! Now, please check out Jimmy's "Margaritaville"!!! Loved the reaction, thank you. Now, I'm off for a trip down memory lane with more Jimmy Buffet. Thanks again for the joy!

    I only know Jimmy Buffet because of my best friend from high school. She has a weird love of jimmy. Weird because he was more than half our age at the time (seemed old to me back then) and it wasn’t an artist I heard anyone else follow. But she loved him and still does over 20 years later. Because of her, I like hearing one of his songs come on out of nostalgia, if not my own personal taste. 🍔 in 🏝

    Jimmy Buffett song Margarit a Ville is said to be the most money generating song of all time with its promos etc. Come Monday is my favorite song of Jimmys.

    Way back in the day Jimmy Buffet would play at Oak Mountain theater in Birmingham, AL and there were some stadium seats but the grassy hill behind was wonderful because one could lay out a blanket and enjoy the concert barefoot in the heat and humidity of our summers while enjoying many beverages and others had some crazy smelling tobacco. Nothing but a party.

    I've been familiar with Jimmy Buffet since at least 1980 even though I didn't really get into his music for a long time. Son of a Son of a Sailor is excellent.
