It's hard to believe that Danny Elfman, the composer of the subdued, classical scores for movies like "Batman" and "Spider-Man", was the frontman for a band as eccentric and poppy as Oingo Boingo.
Dennis J.Moder's father had 6 beer cans, underneath the driver's seat, of his 1978 (1979) Transam- in my boyfreind's car., parked on my father's. curb in 404 North Mt.Prospect.Dennis said, " What An Asshole!" My reply" Yes."
It makes me so sad that Danny Elfman is embarrassed of his oingo boingo days. He made incredible music in oingo boingo and his symphony, why can't he appreciate both like most of us do?
Was watching an Avenged Sevenfold doc..they mentioned this band as a huge influence on The Rev (RIP), and proceeded to do my homework. See, I grew up in the 80s so we all knew Oingo Boingo (Weird Science) and was excited to learn Danny was writing music for like almost every Tim Burton movie( and more), but the fact that you know who he is and not from this band is awesome- no one has to love his music, but he is brilliant and is a musical genius- Or maybe I have you all wrong and you are a child of the 80s- either way- keep your mind constantly open, as you are, to listen to as much music of different genres and you will never be disappointed.
This is how I like to see Danny Elfman the most. I have much respect for what he does now but as I'm 20 years old I love seeing the energetic rock Danny. If only I could have seen it live before he relaxed....
That movie had Iron Man, Paulie, Jadzia Dax (plus "the doctor" from Voyager), Johnny Lawrence, and the original Hot Lips. Not to mention Rodney himself, Sam Kinison, Ned Beatty and the guy from Christine. I don't think you could've asked for a more random grab-bag of people known primarily for being in something else (whether they were on their way up or down at the time).
RUclips debuted in 2005 so technically ten years prior, MTV was technically still airing music oriented shows (Yo! MTV Raps). And two years later, TRL began and that had music videos. Plus well up to the early 2000s, music videos were heavily shown after hours. Yet people still want to complain and have their nostalgia glasses on all the time. Now you can just look up your favorite music videos in a second on your computer or on your phone without having to wait for MTV to air it (if they ever did).
As a jojo fan, i agree it's something we gotta stop doing. We need to leave these comments alone and just come to appreciate the song that was referenced.
I thought so as far back as in '84; I raised my daughter on their music (she even developed a lifelong crush on Elfman and still prefers gingers over all others because of it), and she now has my grandkids singing along to "Only a lad", "Little Girls", "Grey matter", etc... They may not be as well know or rated as they deserve, but they have lifelong devoted fans and Danny's incredible arrangements have ensured that they'll last forever IMO

Reading the first part of "Ready Player One" about Halliday's will video, while playing this song in the background to really get into the feel.
The 80's music was just great.
What a monster riff! Steve Bartek is a legend!
Just remember... Oingo Boingo is the brainchild of Danny Elfman, who has done the score of most all of Tim Burton's movies
Both are brilliant.
Im gonna blast this whole day in Halloween 2019.
Edit: One of the kids who trick or treat at my house was convinced to the song that he wants to know the song name. It was a blast overall.
Edit 2: Halloween 2020, I await you!
Edit 3: fuck it, no Halloween 2020
Starting now!!!
Heard it at a Halloween party today and am playing it as I give out candy right now
The Vegas Golden Knights NHL team had it play during both their Halloween and Day Of The Dead games in T-Mobile Arena.
I went to a Halloween street party and the band was playing it!!
That's awesome
A japanese Comic book made by a Man in his 60's brought me here.
You could say It's a Rather *Bizarre Adventure*
Konamonogatari TM *bloody stream intensifies*
60s?
Believe in the predictions
@@portugeese_man_o_war it was the 80s
Bruh saaaame
I found out about Elfman like two months ago and I can't stop, his is literally almost all stuff i adore about music
When i was like 8 years i only knew about " little girls" song only because of you know which mem, lol
Anyway i m just grateful he exists
I got fuckin shocked when I first learned that the singer was Danny Elfman.
Ditto
See, I grew up in the 80s so we all knew Oingo Boingo (Weird Science) and was excited to learn Danny was writing music for like almost every Tim Burton movie( and more), but the fact that you know who he is and not from this band is awesome- no one has to love his music, but he is brilliant and is a musical genius- Or maybe I have you all wrong and you are a child of the 80s- either way- keep your mind constantly open, as you are, to listen to as much music of different genres and you will never be disappointed.
Hah that's rad!
i totally didnt know that....holy cow..im a huge fan of his soundtracks
Blew me away too. Favorite music composer AND one of my top three singers of all time.
I don't think you could've asked for a more random grab-bag of people known primarily for being in something else (whether they were on their way up or down at the time).
shinjideru ka? shinjidei yo, OINGO BOINGO BRAAAZAAAAAS
halloween is the time of the year when everyone remembers how amazing oingo boingo is
Back when mtv use to play music videos :// now all we have are shitty reality shows!
nightflight was better.
ACFUCKINGZACTLY
With RUclips it is no longer profitable to play music videos
So what was their excuse 10 years before youtube?
RUclips debuted in 2005 so technically ten years prior, MTV was technically still airing music oriented shows (Yo! MTV Raps). And two years later, TRL began and that had music videos. Plus well up to the early 2000s, music videos were heavily shown after hours. Yet people still want to complain and have their nostalgia glasses on all the time. Now you can just look up your favorite music videos in a second on your computer or on your phone without having to wait for MTV to air it (if they ever did).
jojo fans stop destroying every 80s music comment section challenge
agreed
@the last crimson mecha where's the funny
@@noxnebulae that’s the point it’s never funny
@the last crimson mecha it never made my day bitter
As a jojo fan, i agree it's something we gotta stop doing. We need to leave these comments alone and just come to appreciate the song that was referenced.
Those choreographed moves at the beginning must’ve taken months to get right. I love Danny elfman. His music is a gift to all.
Anyone think this (Oingo Boingo) is one of the most underrated groups of all time?
Yes its fucking awesome
Can we trade Kanye West, Cardi B and all this other trashy, talentless, auto-tune garbage for Oingo Boingo??
I thought so as far back as in '84; I raised my daughter on their music (she even developed a lifelong crush on Elfman and still prefers gingers over all others because of it), and she now has my grandkids singing along to "Only a lad", "Little Girls", "Grey matter", etc... They may not be as well know or rated as they deserve, but they have lifelong devoted fans and Danny's incredible arrangements have ensured that they'll last forever IMO
Eu gosto muito dessa música! Só lembranças boas!
eu tambem , a melhor festa que eu fui na minha vida tocou essa musica !!! um abraço
Playing it for kids on Halloween 2019 Gotta culture them with real music
DEF!!!!!
Just show them Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
Pure 80s party. Awesome.
I saw Oingo Boingo in concert back in the day, they were awesome!
Danny Elfman has been contributing for decades and still going! awesome artist!
,
Oingo Boingo! Definitely my favorite 80's band and maybe even my favorite band period
