He had everything vocally: a huge voice, excellent technique, and a top that could go way up into the high baritone range. On the night of my debut in the Met premiere of 'La forza del destino,' when we sang 'La vergine degli angeli' the applause went on and on and on. You should've heard Caruso, Mardones and me that night. You really missed something!"
