My favorite album by Styx is Paradise Theater... but all of their albums are great. There is so much talent in this one band, they are right up there with the best rock bands of all time in my opinion.
Were you waiting for them to start rockin' out on this one as in a number of their other songs like "Lady" - they fooled you by not fooling you. Well, it was because Dennis DeYoung wrote this song as a birthday present for his wife Suzanne not intending for it to be a Styx song. It was only after others heard it that it made it onto their album "Cornerstone"; and like a lot of rock bands their softer-side ballad becomes their highest charting single as this was Styx's only #1 song. Well, back in 1977 and 1978 there was a huge amount of competition including all the disco/Saturday Night Fever stuff. Continue on your Styx journey - there's a lot of great stuff to hear (most I consider better than what you've already heard). Check out my suggestions I already left in comments of your other Styx reactions. OK, I can't help but make one suggestion here: A deep cut of theirs which is one of my favorite songs of all, "CASTLE WALLS" (duh, check out my handle).
The whole Grand Illusion album is a must.
I have been on this page since the 80's. Welcome aboard!
Miss America by Styx-a banger!
The best slow dance song ever
Suite Madame Blue
Cant beat Dennis DeYoung's vocals

I saw them on the Paradise Theatre tour. Unbelievable concert, and their live sound was incredible.

lol these suggestions for reaction channels - Queen of Spades is their best song (and cleverest lyrics) by a mile
