No wasting time begging for likes and a subscription before I've even watched the damn video, no clickbait, just well researched and presented information that respects my time and intelligence.
Great video, and great job touching on the topic of center of mass. I also havent noticed any difference with cosmetic mods when drifting, but I think it's possible that it could make a slight difference. Placebo is also a very real possibility, and some people will drift better or worse simply because of placebo effect.
Thank you for making this comment, to be honest I wish I had covered this more in the video but placebo is a very real thing when it comes to car upgrades in GTA 5 - Broughy1322 himself even mentions this when discussing the effects of aesthetic upgrades on a car's performance. Especially with drifting in this game being so inconsistent (and when much of the conclusions you could make rely only upon how a car feels), placebo is definitely a very real thing that I tried to account for by testing numerous cars in the most controlled conditions possible.
Sorry to hear that man, keep in mind that not all JDM cars in GTA 5 can drift so even if some of them have bulletproof tires that's okay! Glad I could help you though!

as someone whos been drifting in GTA for a year, thank you. i thought i allready knew everything but had no clue aesthetic mods did anything or fully upgrading the transmission (more then the 5 bar acceleration would show) would help me in the higher speed drifts, which is most of what i do now. i also allways thought the futo was an underpowered car which even when stanced could barely do 2nd gear drifts so i never used it but allways loved the look of it, now i can actually use it. thank u

Well I now need a drift car garage. I needed ideas on what cars I wanted to buy. Thank you for the video! This is a rabbit hole I can’t wait to go down.
The exterior mods absolutely make a difference when just driving a car normally. Usually run full exterior mods in the rear when doing import/export and it helps with not drifting into stuff despite the loss in turning response
Great vid love your clean drift style And i drift in gta a lot and bumpers, neon, rims, etc. have an effect on the car and it has an Impact on the cars. Thats why i have different drift bulids for different cars in gta As an exsamlpe the Youga has literally no power an putting on bumpers and neon helps the car to oversteer and on the schwarzer its for wich type of drifting you want it for reverse and 360 i would recommend to get the center of mass more to the front and for more controlled drifts to the back of the car. This applies to every drift car in gta. I spent hours of testing with a friend if bumpers, neons, rims, etc. make a differents and it makes a differents. Edit: but the optional parts make only a slight differents on the cars and its not necessary to sit hours on your setup. Me and my friend just tested because we had the same question if exterior parts make a differents on your performance. So you never max suspension when drifting and the sport is the highest you should use for beginner and the less the suspension the more expert you are? Or is that a mistype?
The suspension height is dependent on the car - for low-speed/low-skill drifting go for the lowest suspension possible so your car is as slidy as possible. For higher-skill/higher-speed drifting, it's better to not lower your car all the way so the steering is more responsive (since you'll need to countersteer more). That's not a mistype.
They don't have a massive effect but based on what the racing community has said, I thought I'd mention it. The Weevil doesn't stance manually but you can slam it in a mod shop just by doing suspension upgrades. And unfortunately no, it doesn't drift because it's super underpowered.
@@StevieWunderKid Bummer. You said there was more drift content coming, what kind? Also do you play on pc? The vid looked like it was doing 60fps and most xbox/ps4 captures I see, look like the video is running 30fps but YT offers the 720p60fps option.
@@sliddyymane8602 as mentioned in the beginning of the video, the majority of the testing footage was captured on PC using a trainer mod in single player to spawn in cars and swap out parts to save time and money, and it was also way easier to export the raw footage right from R* editor to my PC to edit, that's why it's all 1080p at 60fps. The footage inside LS Customs was recorded on my Xbox so the prices for each part would be more representative of what most people would be paying for these modifications. And as for the upcoming drifting content, I have a follow-up to my 'Best Cars for Drifting' video coming soon!
@@StevieWunderKid Okay. May bad I forgot you mentioned the mod so it would make sense you used PC. Thanks for the clarification! And the video was great! Very informative!
I actually do play a bit of CarX when I have the time, but I don't really vibe with it as much as I do with GTA 5. GTA 5 has a more open map with plenty of spots, a race creator to make courses, a wide variety of cars that all drift differently, not to mention the fact that GTA drifting is much more difficult and therefore more rewarding (in my opinion).
My favorite car in the game so far and for drifting for me is the penumbra ff it’s really good at handeling and is so fun when it rains and without rain it’s really easy to drift.
I hate to say no but neither Jester (either the Jester or Jester classic) can properly drift in GTA 5. The normal Jester is AWD and the Jester Classic has the weird handling flags which prevent you from being able to do the mid-drive speed boost. Because of this I don't think I'll ever make a video on me trying to drift it, 'cause it's kinda pointless to.
As indicated in the video, tires really don't make much of a difference in the first place. But based on what the racing community has researched, yes, they are probably bad for drifting as they resist bumps more than the other tire types.
I've been drifting the Futo and the Bravado Banshee 900R for a long time now they've always been old reliable to me. The new futo ( idk the name off hand ) is also kinda op for drifting I'm on ps4 BTW so I'm a controller drifter

I saw this in a short and I thought there were actual drift cars you could get, cuz I know they came out with a racing DLC or something of that nature, but all you have to do is shoot your tires out that's disappointing . I don't think they're ever going to come out with a part 6 because they make too much money off of part 5 cuz 10 years later a lot of people are still playing this game
Not sure what you're talking about there, the LS Tuners update did drop low-grip tires alongside a slew of new drift cars to try out. Also, you're not shooting your tires out at all, if you look closely you'll see that I'm shooting within the rim to break the suspension. You can add spoiler (if you want) And Lastly: don't use stock wheels, use any custom wheels, if you want your stock looking car to drift, use tyres that look like the same stock wheels
Wow Ive always just bought the drift tyres upgrade and that is the only thing you need to drift pretty much any car. Weird that you dont have that, its not new, must be a pc only thing.
Yes, the Benefactor Schwartzer shown in this video is available offline and drifts great. The Dewbauchee Rapid GT, Declasse Vigero, and Karin Futo are other options too! Thanks for your support :)
They really do make the new Tuner cars a blast to drift - they can make cars like the RT3000 and Remus a bit harder to handle but for the most part they're great
Using the Menyoo single player mod makes it super easy cause you can put them on any car with one click. For multiplayer though, you're gonna have to do the Benny's merge, and there's plenty of tutorials out there that show how to do this.
Tried stancing the V-STR numerous times and didn't notice any height difference, and I also didn't notice any change in handling either. Based on that, I don't think it can be stanced.

2. leave all bodykits, if you want your drift car to look like stock
3. brakes: no upgrade
4. transmission: no upgrade
5.Turbo: Turbo tuning
6. You can add spoiler (if you want)
And Lastly: don't use stock wheels, use any custom wheels, if you want your stock looking car to drift, use tyres that look like the same stock wheels
Evening brother 👊 Is this PC? Or Xbox? PS4?
The video was recorded on PC but everything I talked about will apply to all platforms!
Wow Ive always just bought the drift tyres upgrade and that is the only thing you need to drift pretty much any car.
Weird that you dont have that, its not new, must be a pc only thing.
This video was made before low-grip tires were in the game 👍 I have an updated guide linked in the pinned comment!
Great video. Ifyou want to drift try CarX drift racing online for PS,Xbox or PC
I love this video do you know any cars for offline as I have tried most of the cars and they don’t drift
Yes, the Benefactor Schwartzer shown in this video is available offline and drifts great. The Dewbauchee Rapid GT, Declasse Vigero, and Karin Futo are other options too! Thanks for your support :)
@@StevieWunderKid thanks
Opinions on low grip tires?
They really do make the new Tuner cars a blast to drift - they can make cars like the RT3000 and Remus a bit harder to handle but for the most part they're great
Killer vid.
Appreciate it!
I got the hellcat aka hellfire and it drifts hella good with handbrake and transmission and EMS upgrades
yo stevie great vid! Just so curious how to get em f1 wheels?
Using the Menyoo single player mod makes it super easy cause you can put them on any car with one click. For multiplayer though, you're gonna have to do the Benny's merge, and there's plenty of tutorials out there that show how to do this.
@@StevieWunderKid thanks!
Hey the vstr can be stanced but it’s very small n you proll won’t notice tho
Tried stancing the V-STR numerous times and didn't notice any height difference, and I also didn't notice any change in handling either. Based on that, I don't think it can be stanced.
