    Your caftan is a great combination of fabric and pattern. Really nice! Thanks so much for your detailed descriptions of the construction and info for the fabrics and patterns - always helpful and informative. The rectangle tee in dusty blue would be a good style tee shirt to wear with the navy shorts. So many colors look good with navy. Thanks for a great video and looking forward to the video on drafting a caftan.

    Rebecca your sewing is intentional, inspiring and interesting. Thank you for the hard work that you put into your videos and blog posts. I ran to Stone Mountain to pick up some linen and tencil! Have a fantastic week and my prayers that you find the job of your dreams!

    I enjoy your videos on a few levels, I find your fabric choices really interesting. I live in the uk and have never considered making non swim/active wear from swimwear fabric. Your black dress is gorgeous. Would you consider filming the pattern drafting process from your block to finished garment?

      Thanks so much Jenny! So glad you’re enjoying the videos! I’m hoping to be able to do more drafting and sewing demo videos after I’ve redone my sewing studio/ bedroom.

    Rebecca, I just love everything you do. Is there a video explaining how you learned to draft patterns? I'm interested in learning more about it and would appreciate any tips. Thanks~

      Thanks so much! I’m entirely self taught at pattern drafting- most of what I’ve learned is from books and Suzy Furrer’s pattern drafting courses on Craftsy. I have a video on my top 5 Patternmaking Books if you want to check that out.

    In making the Vanessa pant, you said you use the selvedge in the hem. Did you cut it on the crossgrain?

      @SewPomona  3 месяца назад +1

      Yes. I often cut pants on the cross grain. I find it makes finishing easier and doesn’t affect the drape.

    I’m making a boat seat for someone. Unfortunately I can’t get the stitches balanced. Happens every time I sew vinyl😢 After that, I’ve got a big remnant of rayon with a border print set aside for your caftan tutorial!

      Sounds like a fun project- but I get how those kinds of fabrics can mess with your machine. Border prints are the best for Caftans! I have a gorgeous one I'm working on right now. Happy sewing!
