Great stuff Fred
That silent call feature is pretty handy! Preppers will love it!
Good for people hunting too.
I am lucky to live on the coast. UHF travels well over water, for the price, it's a good addition to a "go bag"
I've a couple of baofengs with the coastguard/RNLI emergency channel "Zero" pre programmed
In a matter of loss of life potential, this channel CAN be used. It's a duplex where
RX is 160.400
TX is 156.000
If you're ever near the coast with a UV (anything) it's well worth having those frequencies programmed for listening.
Good tip Richard. I will be down the coast later this year and give them a listen.
I have the GMRS version of these had them for 12 months very pleased with them for the money
Good to know

Frid in the shed your utube videos are awesome
Retevis radios are superb. All mine work brilliantly.
Good to hear.
FRED IN THE SHED your retevis rb 625 vibrating walkie talkie pmr radios is cool
You have to use the clone function for every 16 channels, it works only for the activated chanel, that's a shame.
I think that you can go and get them to go scramble as well on line I may be wrong
Yeah not sure on that scramble function
We used two of these on a canalboat holiday. Put a neck cord on them and they easily sit in a shirt or tee-shirt top pocket. I used the software to switch of the very load beeps. Found the range not as good as my Motorola radios but they were great for keeping in touch with the boat crewe as normal conversation is difficult when you are standing over a running diesel engine.
I tested the Retevis RB618 similar to the RB615 against BaoFeng BF-888S basic walkie talkie in an open area and built up area and the BaoFeng BF-888S blasted them out for everything. I like the cloning feature though on the retevis.
The BF 888s radios are my long term favourite along with the now ancient Motorola T6222.
@@redjohn20001 yes me too John, I thought the retevis were good in the beginning but not now Ive had chance to test them properly .
I have 888's and they are amazing value and are 2 watt radios. Testing wise i thing a fairer test would be the Baofeng 0.5w BF-88E.
@@CB-RADIO-UK Ive got to give the best cheap pmr radio at half a watt award to the Alan 456R now discontinued, I used them for many years working on a Country park and they never let me down. Do Alan still make radios?
@@CB-RADIO-UK I find the the Retevis not as powerful as my 0.5 Watt Motorola T6222. The talk power is not as strong either. I think the Motorola has companding to boost the performance. But the small size of the Retevis comes into its own for more local comms, the boat holiday for example. The T6222 is some 20 years old but has a couple of tricks newer radios don't have like incoming indication of ctcss code, shut down after set period to save batteries and a scramble mode. A classic pmr 446 radio I think.
Where can I get a programming cable for this and the ideas
I would look on the main Retevis site.
nop not there@@CB-RADIO-UK
How do you activate the vibration Function only on the radio 🤔
Can you pair more than one to one ? Ie, one master and 3 slaves ?
Yes you can
Did they come with a charger ? CT4089.
No just a USB lead.
What price are they????
Around £13 each.
I like this walkey talkie if I want 8 how do I go about getting them can any one help ? Cheers
I have a link to edited original programming software I found in a forum that opens the radio to 2watts and frequency across 400-480MHz.
Where can I share this link with you Fred so you can check it out see if you might like to share it with your viewers
Hi If you post the link as new comment on this video i will try and rescue it from the spam box ta.

@@CB-RADIO-UK I can't post the link with a short introduction to what the link is for, it keeps getting removed, never mind.
Maybe one day you could create a video around this software if you are interested.
Thanks for all your videos Fred, over and out.
