When I went to their concert with Volumes and Crown the Empire on May 7th, afterwards, my friend & I sat outside of the fence in front of the tour buses (in hopes of meeting a few band members, which we did haha), and there was this girl there sitting by herself. My friend & I decided to sit with her, considering she was waiting there for the same reason we were. Anyway, she started talking to us about how she is a recovering drug addict. She told us how she saw Of Mice & Men live before but never met Austin. Alan told her, "you know, the band and I, especially Austin, hate seeing our fans struggle. Stay strong." Those few words helped her recover. That night, she met Austin, looked him in the eyes, and said, "Thank you." She started venting to him about everything and cried. He took her head into his chest and let her cry on him while whispering "It'll be okay" in her ear. I almost cried when I saw that.
As much as I love Aaron's voice in their new album, nothing can replace Shayley's raw emotion in these songs...his voice was an amazing pair to Austin's screams.
Austin Wise Indeed nice icon reminds me of zelda the ocarina of time for my n64 not sure if that's what it's called haven't seen it since i put it away in it's case years ago
thought the same thing today, found my old mp3 player and was relistening to shit i used to listen to in 5th grade haha the drop still hits just as good
Yes, for sure. The thoughts I've had in the past listening to this album when it first came out are insane. The duality of all of us is so clear when I look back on the person I used to be.
I literally think this is my favorite song.. I've listened to it like 5 times in a row already... I started listening to om&m like at 9 tonite... I can't turn it off...
The last clean part related to me a lot. I remember when I used to get shivers listening to that part at a struggling time in my life. I still get shivers and I'm improving myself as a person :) Love songs I can relate to. It helps me find meaning in my life and find who I truly am. Thanks OM&M and Metalcore in general.. ^^
Old Of Mice & Men? New Of Mice & Men? All I see and hear is Of Mice & Men. Their new album is just as fucking good as their first self-titled album. Wanna know why? It's because they are Of Mice & Men, that's why!
Great take but not really. It's like ACDC. Major sound change, not as raw and emotional with the music. All sounds the same. OG had many different sounds through their songs. Like SOAD, now. More like breaking Benjamin
i’m so blessed to have seen this era live. wish i took a photo cuz the memory is gettin blurry. will never forget austin’s booming power and the band playing so hard that their fans were sending themselves to the medical tent. they played this and someone snapped their leg in half. i felt the bass in my bones watching from the stage next to them. they played after the used, they watched the used with us taking notes and then played twice as hard. consider this: the used caused a wall of death, and OM&M went harder than THAT. probably the best metal performance at that warped tour tbh.
Celi Caban is the song sung by shayley, isn't it? eh... i prefer the mix of voices... because the clean vocals i think are not strong for a solo exhibition.
I relapsed, and today I'm going to try my best to give up oxycotton. Wish me luck please. I want today to be the first day of the rest of my life, a new start. I miss being happy, healthy, and clean. I want this so bad.
''This is the way that I wanted to live, but you know I was scared of the world, praying it all would go away.'' That part gave me goosebumps! Love it!~
It goes from ridiculously heavy and deep, to tear-jerking, emotional, and just plain amazing. This may be the best song on the album. And the lyrics are so deep, and prove that Austin will never be the asshole he was, and will forever stay the amazing person he is. And Shay, he just fucking kills it at the end. There is no way they could've made the outro any better. This song is so perfect.
I used to know someone who was obsessed with this band. I was too lazy to ever look them up until now.... and now I know why she was obsessed. This is amazing.
Clayton Kelly new Of Mice and Men is still good though. They just have a lot more vocals, which is good. They include Aaron more in the band, and the beats are different. Of course they're gunna change a bit because they're gotten older and matured, so just like they change, their music does. c:
Well I liked when Shaley was in the band but now Aaron is singing the clean vocals so i guess it's just something people have to accept haha. And yes, i have actually. Yes, they have clean vocals but compare The Flood to Restoring Force, and it sounds like Of Mice and Men changed genres. it's just a matter of opinion, you can think what you want just as i can. (:
Wow. Reading the lyrics to this has put a whole new perspective on certain *cough cough* struggles I've had recently. Idk how many of you actually know what he's referring to in this.
I agree with you. I have depression as well and I can understand what he must be going through, it might not be as bad as his but I can sort of understand. He has amazing talent and wherever he is now, I wish nothing but the best for him.
It consumes me, controls me, leaves me with nothing But you know that I love how it tastes, fear and the fate I'll change face to get what I crave, fill my veins This gets me by (you know it feels good, you know it feels so good) The drugs that keep me high (you know it feels so good, but you know it all feels so fake) Product of a murderer, you stole everything from me This poison hurts, feels so empty Fill my veins with this sin Shaking on the ground My head's going crazy from within Cold sweats, shaking in my shame Heart stops, dying where I lay This gets me by (you know it feels good, you know it feels so good) The drugs that keep me high (you know it feels so good, you know it feels so good) These drugs that keep me high Sense of reality, perception falls, feels so empty Cold sweats, the pain, skin crawls, the shame Please save me Please save me This is the way I wanted to live But you know, I was scared of the world Praying it all would go away This is the way I wanted to live But you know, I was scared of the world Praying it all would go away This is the way I wanted to live But you know, I was scared of the world Praying it all would go away
Very true mate! Its ignorance if people dont actually give it a meaningful chance to listen to this kind of music and say it sucks. I believe screaming is an acquired taste in music.
Product of a murderer, you stole everything from me! This poison hurts, feels so empty, fill my veins with this sin. Shaking on the ground, my head's going crazy from within! I literally love these lyrics for a reason I don't know xD
I didn't have my ear phones in one time and listing to one kind of song in the lunch room and the next thing I notice I see everyone dancing to it and I'm just like 😐😶
Holy shit, I've only heard this song a few times before, never read the lyrics. Speaks to me so deeply having been there before. A year sober, and it reminded me of that place I never want to be again. I love this band.
Listening to this as a teenager I loved every second of it and now as a man after a 6 year heroin & methamphetamine addiction it FUCKING RESONATES 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 I FUCKIN LOVE YOU GUYS!!!♥️♥️♥️
Me. I'm here on quarantine. This songs relates to my troubles and struggles in my life. And that's what the year 2020 meant for me is when all of those hard times came to past for me.
Who’s here cuz they like the beat of the song (I mean I like rock and metal cuz of the beat the drums and guitar create mixed with the vocals) I still like that message but mainly cuz the beat is sick af
i want to be 15/16 again discovering this for the first time and feeling like a void in me was filled, so many feels

I almost cried when I saw that.
Natalie Nolta Love knowing that not every person in a band is not a total douche and actually takes time out to sit and chat with fans
I cried reading that :')
Hei
+Matty K. fake
+MrShySix Uchiha nah i feel you
As much as I love Aaron's voice in their new album, nothing can replace Shayley's raw emotion in these songs...his voice was an amazing pair to Austin's screams.
Shay got new jamz coming with dayshell
Very true.
Such a short lived era for OMM 😓 I don’t think their newer stuff even compares to the Shayley x Austin era
@@Ensource jesus fucking christ i haven’t heard about dayshell in a decade thanks for the throwback
Everyone says “band went down hill when Austin left.” Dude, band went down hill when shay left
Such a powerful ending…
nice icon :)
Sandpit Turtle :D
Austin Wise Indeed nice icon reminds me of zelda the ocarina of time for my n64 not sure if that's what it's called haven't seen it since i put it away in it's case years ago
take that n64 out and play it!
Oh no worries i just found it now after commenting here i got my mario kart SMSB and all those good games :D
Still my favorite OM&M song. The raw emotion is unmatched.
Damn, I missed this era of the band :( 2012 vibes
They were better. This kind of their stuff is boss.
omg shays voice is life
Ikr
He has new material coming with dayshell!!

I'm a recovering drug addict/alcoholic. This song has helped me so much though my battles
this is a song that helped me walk the path to recovery from my heroin addiction. Thanks OM&M
I don't know who you are, but I'm happy to hear you got through your addiction (:
thank you :) that means alot to me
good luck with your recovery! keep listening to music, it gets you through everything, said a legend :)
ForeverYoung6264 thank you :)
Man.. I went through some shit. Cool to have these songs still to look back on certain phases of my life.
Didnt expect you to be here :p Nice to see tho! Love you :)
thought the same thing today, found my old mp3 player and was relistening to shit i used to listen to in 5th grade haha the drop still hits just as good
Yes, for sure. The thoughts I've had in the past listening to this album when it first came out are insane. The duality of all of us is so clear when I look back on the person I used to be.
WoW
It's not a phase.
The entire song gives me eargasm
I literally think this is my favorite song.. I've listened to it like 5 times in a row already... I started listening to om&m like at 9 tonite... I can't turn it off...
If you like this check out the flood and the storm
i know that feel
Listen to I'm a Monster that is if you haven't it's short but Great
Chandler Clark my name is chandler too😈 you cute
The entire album is fire 🔥
To this day, every time Shayley's voice comes in I get chills everywhere.
Morgan Victoria yo same, it never fails
Me too!
He has new stuff coming for dayshell!!!
The ending always make me cry.
I feel the same way. It's Shayley's voice. It stirs such emotion. He really added something different to OM&M when he was still with them.
Karina Rivera it does the same to me sometimes
yes it is
The last clean part related to me a lot. I remember when I used to get shivers listening to that part at a struggling time in my life. I still get shivers and I'm improving myself as a person :) Love songs I can relate to. It helps me find meaning in my life and find who I truly am. Thanks OM&M and Metalcore in general.. ^^
Can we just talk about that beautiful guitar riff at the beginning
Old Of Mice & Men? New Of Mice & Men? All I see and hear is Of Mice & Men. Their new album is just as fucking good as their first self-titled album. Wanna know why? It's because they are Of Mice & Men, that's why!

1:17
That bass is amazing in my car. Every. Single. Time.
What sound input do you have
same wit mi car
omg yess i blast this song in my moms car and she gets mad because she hates bands like this
the sub walls i have in my 99 blazer piss my neighbors off so bad
Idk how you feel about deathcore, but if you like a lot of bass then check out Infant Annhilator
Man how is no one talking about the breakdown at 1:17 - 1:50? One of my favorite breakdowns of all time. Very heavy and the drums are sick
Breakdowns are so uninteresting musically
COLD SWEATS,SHAKING IN MY SHAME...HEART STOPSSS..DYING WHERE I LAYYY
it goes so fucking hard. song is hard underrated.
Carlile is truly one of the most legendary screamers OF ALL TIME
2:24 - my favorite part! so beautiful!
Genuinely still believe no clean vocalist is as good as Shay
i am fukng addicted to this...
It makes my heart go chirp butterfly shit :")
Beautiful
my favorite outro of all time
Shayley made this band.
***** Shayley made this band good.Austin's making better
ดอ
It was for sure a 50/50 between Shayley and Austin.
I love this band alot but if you say "OM&M" it sounds like you're proclaiming your love for M&M candies.
Ikr, every time I mention this band, somebody'll be like what's your obsession with M&M's already?? I'm just like shut the fuck up XD
aja drew XD I hardly ever say it just because I annoy myself hearing it out loud
***** I do that, don't exactly know many people who listen to them that are from where i'm from
***** not even we just say mice n men
i’m so blessed to have seen this era live. wish i took a photo cuz the memory is gettin blurry. will never forget austin’s booming power and the band playing so hard that their fans were sending themselves to the medical tent. they played this and someone snapped their leg in half. i felt the bass in my bones watching from the stage next to them. they played after the used, they watched the used with us taking notes and then played twice as hard. consider this: the used caused a wall of death, and OM&M went harder than THAT. probably the best metal performance at that warped tour tbh.
best song in the flood
what about when you can't sleep at night ))):
no you
Davide Marconi no listen to "when you can't sleep at night" on that album
Their soft songs don't compare to ones like this
Celi Caban is the song sung by shayley, isn't it? eh... i prefer the mix of voices... because the clean vocals i think are not strong for a solo exhibition.
I relapsed, and today I'm going to try my best to give up oxycotton.
Wish me luck please.
I want today to be the first day of the rest of my life, a new start.
I miss being happy, healthy, and clean.
I want this so bad.
good luck x
Thank you, so much.
+Brittany Tucker YOU CAN DO IT!!!
I know how had it is, I was on Vicodin for a long time, heavy too, at my worst I was taking 12 1000's a day. I believe in you that you can do it 😊
YOU CAN DO IT! YOU GOT THIS
crazy i was using drugs heavily during this album and couldnt listen to it once i became clean. 8 years sober and it now holds a different meaning.
best ending to a song ever.
''This is the way that I wanted to live,
but you know I was scared of the world,
praying it all would go away.''
That part gave me goosebumps! Love it!~
This song still goes hard!
truuuu
.
No this band will not blow up buildings with you
What are you on!?
_"This gets me byyyyyyyyyyy!"_
This music. 👩🎤🤘🎶
It goes from ridiculously heavy and deep, to tear-jerking, emotional, and just plain amazing. This may be the best song on the album. This song reminds me of the crazy trips I used to be on
He's singing about his drug addiction. Have some respect.
Ur responding to a 7 year old comment 😂
Lol right i did so many drugs listening to this as a kid haha
2:24 always be the best part
I think it was 95 jamaicans thinking it was the dis I like button.
My friend told me this is her favorite band. Looked them up and omg...
your friend must be pretty radical
the great and mighty cheese wheel She is! ;)
Shipbreh radical dude
I know. I understand. I really enjoy their music as well.
I used to know someone who was obsessed with this band. I was too lazy to ever look them up until now.... and now I know why she was obsessed. This is amazing.
that breakdown is an extremely close second to O.G. Loko's!!
Forever envious of those that witnessed *this* of mice & men era 😢🖤
You can't tell me you don't feel something taking over your body at 2:24. That's some serious vocal talent right there
This is the way I wanted to live, but you know I was scared of the world, praying it all would go away.
I'll nevver get tired of this album ❤
I never really know the lyrics of an of mice & men song until I read them while listening to the song
Clayton Kelly new Of Mice and Men is still good though. They just have a lot more vocals, which is good. They include Aaron more in the band, and the beats are different. Of course they're gunna change a bit because they're gotten older and matured, so just like they change, their music does. c:

it's just a matter of opinion, you can think what you want just as i can. (:
Lesley Sykes they kind of did change genres, they're calling their new album nu metal which is much different than metalcore
Probably favorite OM&M song of all time. Clean vocals are off the charts good.
Litterally one of their best songs
....been awhile.
Still slaps
Guitar riffs, soft vocals and melody - pure magic
Love the beat of this song.
the end solo gives me chills everytime. damn
this song has saved me for so many different reasons.
Can't we all get along and listen to his beautiful voice..
Seeing them live Thursday!!!
When he screamed, "please save me." I felt that
I drum this entire song....on my steering wheel.
Of Mice & Men is helpin me recover from my drug addiction. Without their music i would be lost.
Glad to hear that, best of luck
so, hows the recover going? (:
Yeah they helped me too. Circa Survive and OM&M.
OMG circa 😍😍😍😍
I love this band
tristananvilcaster Seeing your comment took me WAYYYY back, cause I used to see your comments EVERYWHERE lmao
Clean vocals and lyrics are sooo abnormally placed, it's like breaking some lyric/melodic overall unwritten rules I LOVE IT
Favourite metal band because of the amazing vocalist ♥ im on 19th of march on concert guuys ♥
Austins voice is the greatest thing I've ever heard ever.
idk what it is about their breakdowns but they're so fucking badass if it wasnt for their breakdowns i wouldnt like them as much
Wow. Reading the lyrics to this has put a whole new perspective on certain *cough cough* struggles I've had recently. Idk how many of you actually know what he's referring to in this.
Rip of mice & men first shay and now austin you had a good run i love you..
Best song in their ENTIRE library.
8 years later, still jams
man i get fluttery feelings in my heart when shayley sings omg it makes me happy
I love this song everything about it lyrics, vocalists, instrumentals they're perfect 😍😱😎😈💀
I agree with you. I have depression as well and I can understand what he must be going through, it might not be as bad as his but I can sort of understand. He has amazing talent and wherever he is now, I wish nothing but the best for him.
It consumes me, controls me, leaves me with nothing
But you know that I love how it tastes, fear and the fate
I'll change face to get what I crave, fill my veins
This gets me by (you know it feels good, you know it feels so good)
The drugs that keep me high (you know it feels so good, but you know it all feels so fake)
Product of a murderer, you stole everything from me
This poison hurts, feels so empty
Fill my veins with this sin
Shaking on the ground
My head's going crazy from within
Cold sweats, shaking in my shame
Heart stops, dying where I lay
This gets me by (you know it feels good, you know it feels so good)
The drugs that keep me high (you know it feels so good, you know it feels so good)
These drugs that keep me high
Sense of reality, perception falls, feels so empty
Cold sweats, the pain, skin crawls, the shame
Please save me
Please save me
This is the way I wanted to live
But you know, I was scared of the world
Praying it all would go away
This is the way I wanted to live
But you know, I was scared of the world
Praying it all would go away
This is the way I wanted to live
But you know, I was scared of the world
Praying it all would go away
One of their best songs! 😍
Still the fucking jam!!!! 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
This was my first song I knew by Of Mice and Men. And I am extremely happy that one of my ex-friends showed me this band. :)
I'm just joining the fandom. I think I really like this song :3
Fandom? Shit ruined this band.
TheScrubDesigns and almost every good band now. That shit's toxic
Me and my friend always rock out to them , love this band soo much
this album totally defines the genre
It's impossible to explain how much I love Of Mice & Men.
This song= Life.
I love Shay's voice in this song so much!
Forever my favorite song
Very true mate! Its ignorance if people dont actually give it a meaningful chance to listen to this kind of music and say it sucks. I believe screaming is an acquired taste in music.
yep still like it and all of the other songs I'm binging.
Yes.
This song brings back so many memories 😩
Product of a murderer,
you stole everything from me!
This poison hurts, feels so empty,
fill my veins with this sin.
Shaking on the ground,
my head's going crazy from within!
I literally love these lyrics for a reason I don't know xD
Simply amazing. ♡
I didn't have my ear phones in one time and listing to one kind of song in the lunch room and the next thing I notice I see everyone dancing to it and I'm just like 😐😶
Jack The killer of haha yeah and then Albert Einstein gave you a $100% bill
One of my favorite OM&M songs. so good.
these lyrics are too damn good
Holy shit, I've only heard this song a few times before, never read the lyrics. Speaks to me so deeply having been there before. A year sober, and it reminded me of that place I never want to be again. I love this band.
I’m dizzy from all the head banging
girl me too lol
Listening to this as a teenager I loved every second of it and now as a man after a 6 year heroin & methamphetamine addiction it FUCKING RESONATES 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I FUCKIN LOVE YOU GUYS!!!♥️♥️♥️
1:32 "Christmas!!! Shaking Christmas tree!!!
Me. I'm here on quarantine. This songs relates to my troubles and struggles in my life. And that's what the year 2020 meant for me is when all of those hard times came to past for me.
OM&M classics marathon after Austin's departure. :(
Daniel Morales What departure??
KristiieeNah Austin is no longer the vocalist of OM&M
One of my favourite songs from The Flood...
Whose here in 2024 --->
The nostalgia is so strong here
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
My ears have multiorgasms every time i hear this song!!
Who’s here cuz they like the beat of the song (I mean I like rock and metal cuz of the beat the drums and guitar create mixed with the vocals) I still like that message but mainly cuz the beat is sick af
austins screams are something super human i have yet really mastered them and i've been doing them for years
when they made good music
I cant stop listening to this. This song gets me so emotional. It's just so beautiful.
Is that Shay screaming? if it is then my life is complete omfg
no it's Austin i believe. I don't think Shayley ever screamed, but i'm not positive on that.
Shay has never screamed in OM&M (well he does have scream-ish vocals) but in his band he has screaming parts :)
He screams the you know it feels good part
I thought so, fair play shay!
JusmanRobertson Yes, as I wrote he does have scream-ish vocals :) but it's not that he screams whole verse it's just a few words :D
One of the best songs by Of Mice & Men. Good job guys!
