I was having the same issue with my cutter. It felt like a balancing trouble. I bought a digital scale from HF and weighed my blades. I found that 2 blades were lighter by 4 to 6 oz from all the resharpening I've done to them over the years. So I ground all the heavy blades down to match the other 2 and all the vibration disappeared, so much so that I had check that the mower was running. Night and day difference. From there on out, when I resharpen, I weight each blade so they're identical weight.
Thanks for the tip
He says, "I'm gonna go back and wack that tree cuz its 'UGLY'"! But gee, the tree always spoke highly of YOU! Listen, that cutter has some power, has NO FEAR and leaves a good looking landscape with NO SIGNS of having been there! TONY SOPRANO would have LOVED IT! Thanks BOSS!
Lol heck yeah
Wow what a difference a high flow skid-steer paired to a brush cutter makes! No spun down or lag in the cutting. Cleanup machine extraordinaire.
If ya weld a couple hooks on the top front corners of deck (open side facing you), you can pull a lot of those vines down from the trees then mulch them up, did it to most of our cutters, you won't regret it.. Keep up the good work. 👍
Good tip!
Absolutely love my skid steer mower. It’s a standard flow rated for 18gpm. My SS runs at 17.4. Two tips for you. Mine also vibrates at low speed but smooths out at higher rpm’s. It will never be perfect especially once you start sharpening the blades. Two tips: bring a cordless angle grinder so you can sharpen if you hit something and make sure you clean out all of the nooks and crannies inside and out. Leaves, pine needles and twigs get EVERYWHERE and they are a potential fire hazard
Thanks bud!
I would ask the dealer but I think the wobble is from having the bolts tight enough that the blades are not spinning out purely from momentum. They will wobble just on the blades not being equal weight (due to chipping damage) but higher speeds will sort this out.
You want them to have a little “give” so that the first blade might adjust back a bit bit the motor speed isn’t affected and the following blades catch anything not cut…the rotary speed will have the first blade immediately fully extended. If the “hit” is a stone or rock, it will still shoot out like a missile but won’t go as far or hit its unintended target with the same velocity.
The exception might be if you are planning on grinding down stumps or hitting a lot of 3” or larger caliper trees In that scenario, you might get better chopping. Still the shock burden on the motor and gear box could be a concern …from a longevity maintenance perspective.
Definitely clean after use to prevent build up….heat is a bitch on parts and as you said, these can make fire with friction.
I would think that the bolts should be the same length. Even though that is a small amount of difference, the further from the center of rotation, the greater the affect it could have. I would also have thought that those four blades would have some ability to swivel. Centrifugal force would keep them out, but hitting something hard, they could rotate and give in a little. Great job.... Cheers! Mike
I agree 100% on both counts. Stiff blades can get stuck folded in when they hit something hard and cause a LOT of vibration. They NEED to swivel freely!
Can I say, "UPSTATE NEW YORK BRUSH BOSS" and maintain respect & friendship with "John of UPSTATE BRUSH CONTROL" down south? Regardless, what POWER you put out with a new toy! I think ANDREW took one to a SEARS Riding mower/tractor. Loads of different CONTENT but you do it all and we say THANKS!!!
Good guys!
@@DIRT-BOSS Yes they are good guys! I remember the big GET TOGETHER last summer all of you met and JOHN "USBC" helped CAPT KLEEMAN build a bridge!
Great stuff! Awesome shot angles, tapping my foot to the tunes! Drone shots really add to the overall feel of the video! Of course the narration adds to my knowledge! Thanks Dirt Boss you’re definitely on your way to 100,000 subs. Gonna spread the word!
Thanks man!
I think the OEM use castle nuts so you can leave the blade bolt slightly loose and use a cotter pin to keep the nut from backing off. The loose bolts allow the blades to swing; a very important feature as it lessens the shock load on the expensive gear box.
Yeah those in the brush hogs are pretty pretty useful already bought one you like looks like you did that in this last storm spell we had so cool thanks for sharing
Make an attachment so you could mount it on the digger to clear the high stuff but you will get the hang of it just keep playing Mike
Hey Brush Boss. My son drives my tractor with me in bucket along hedgerow while I use the chainsaw and polesaw carefully to trim branches. What a time-saver. When done we run branches through the 3-point chipper for mulch.
Thanks for the review, I have a new Kubota SSV65 coming and I am looking for a brush cutter
OK so now dirt boss is going to be the brush boss!!!!👍
My vote would be the different size bolts. Ran a brush cutter for 25 years it dosnt take much to have them get out of balance. Wait tell you brake a blade it will shake your teeth right out of you. We went to flail mowers the rotary threw to much stuff flails don’t throw as much can’t really operate a rotary in urban areas safely.😮
Man, DB, that high flow is the hot ticket. Good investment there.
I have seen a few others on channels that I watch have those and they are great for bush hogging and also clearing small saplings as well. They are great machines. Andrew has one close to this, ask him, maybe he knows about the vibration??
Looks awesome and you done an awesome job.
Love the no intro!!! Straight to the point. Good stuff, Mike!
Thanks bud
Mike thought on other channels the blades are a little loser, I’m thinking if to tight and you hit a rock I’m thinking the blade might take more damage then when lose. Just my thoughts, great cleanup and like you said pretty beefy 💪👍🇺🇸
I agree
Boss man, that mower is gonna make your life so much easier. It almost makes it a pleasure to clean out brush… well… compared to a chainsaw and a weed whacker!!
Was that an 80” wide cut?
It doesn’t take long for field edges to creep out on you. My neighbor and I spent two weekends cleaning out around an 80 acre hay field. It had been about 6 years… and we gained about 12 feet or so back around three sides. The fourth side is the creek and he is letting it bush out to stop erosion. If we would’ve had that cutter, we could have cleared it before lunch!
Thanks bud.
72"
What a tremendous time saver 👍
Looking great! That vibration is typically normal. Mine shakes too. CAT 259 and Extreme Duty Blue Diamond mower. Money makers for sure...
Thanks for the info
Vibration is probable in something like that. It is hard to keep blades perfectly balanced especially when they start to wear. I would worry about any change/increase in the amount of vibration. The way the cutters are attached it seems likely that you will find over time the need to replace them. I would be interested to see what happens if you hit a rock.
Mikey Mike, what up brother? Your gonna have to buy a bigger homestead to house all the equipment. With all that equipment and options....To Paraphrase a line from Breaking Bad.
(Your not in the Dirt business.....Your in the empire business).
Have a great week Mike.
😎 very true!
Need the blades to be able to spin when they hit something 👍
Yes I'm going to fix that
Man that attachment is awesome we are using a fecon mulching head for the same thing and it works but it's bogging down when it gets into some bigger tree's and it's the biggest head they make with high flow!! I don't know if it's a safety thing or what, but it sure is annoying!
You have to back up and let the head pick back up speed, then go back in!
Yes when I rented one of those it did the same thing lot of force though when she eats
I don’t really need one, but now I want one! 😂
I believe they all shake. Ours shakes at start up and shut down
Whatttttts. Up Mr Mike the DirtBoss. Hope all is well. Crazy busy down on the coast. Just need it to quit raining. But better then the white stuff
Oh yeah buddy we just got pounded we've been lucky so far though
Top notch work as always. Hello from just south of Chattanooga Tennessee
Hey, thanks!
Good morning afternoon and goodnight all
even more work is great
D-Boss! is a farmer?…everyone thinks I’m a farmer…I don’t know shinola about farming or tractors…trackhoes and trucking…yeah! Great video! D-Boss! Got to be getting smoked out in Albany…bad enough in mid jersey here!
Yeah smokey
Absolutely smart move. It’s winter and the economy is slowing down. Cutting brush may not bring in the money your other jobs do, but it puts food on the table. You definitely have the hang of it, like everything else. May you get a lot of jobs out of it. Again, smart move, but you always struck me as a sharp guy.
Thanks!
No cameras harmed making this video.... OR were they?
Mean machine - obviously needs power to run it effectively.
Cameras made it
Do they have a version of the mower with stump teeth on the stump jumper ?
Not sure but easy modification
Nice I was wondering how them open front brush hogs do I was gonna get one to replace my regular brush hog before I got my mulcher, it seem like it gets right with the program
Yeah I had no issues doing that project
Solid lookin unit right there nice
Wow! You almost lost that camera 3 times! Lol 😉 Great Video 🥰
I know!!
Boss babe… maybe he needs to use his old camera for filming when he’s mowing?
@@sassafrasvalley1939 good idea!! 😊

Heck yeah buddy
Need to get you back in the excavator so I can borrow that one !
Lol yes sir
I know tis is a old videobut I'm about to buy a mower for my excavator and was wanting to know if you are still pleased with this mower. Thanks!

Hello,
I bought the 54 inch brush cutter for my excavator. I was wondering where do you add the gear oil at. I thought hydraulic motor is self lubricants. Any help would be appreciated.
Put it directly in the line
Hey Mike I tried looking up this guys equipment inventory and his business on Google I can’t seem to find it. You got any shortcuts on that
I will get more info and pin it in comments soon check back
As a person who used to farm, I understand cutting the fence rows but as a small game hunter I HATE seeing it.
True
Is normal, blades go out of balance believe or not
AGT... always got teeth? Awesome machine boss
You know it!
Good machine.
If I had a choice, I would buy a forestry mulcher rather than a brush cutter. You can make
more money but I'm sure the insurance and maintenance is higher .
Brush cutter 6k vs mulcher 42k still want that choice?
@@DIRT-BOSS If I had your hand yes !!!! A flail mower attachment is also better than a brush cutter
Nice a nice 👌🏻 🙂
Is it specifically for a standard flow machine or can it be used with high flow. I’d be really curious to see how it does because it’s a beast in low flow.
Both
LOVEY
What oil did you put in the gear box or is it just grease
Grease & I dont recommend these cutters any more! Be careful blades fly off light "Chinese" stars

Do you have any long term reviews on this unit? How long have you had it /ran it? Im looking at getting the same unit.
This is the only time I ran it was in this video.. my machines been on a site all winter haven't had time to get back to it..spring time.. email the link he will tell you more great guy
Whatd you end up paying for it if you dont mund me asking? Im looking at one locally here in wisconsin.
1st like 👍👍👍
Can you tell me where to put in the gear oil, we used ours for 2 hrs and it locked up. All I could see was a grease fitting. It was new got it from an auction
You were supposed to fill the crankcase oil first before starting
@DIRT BOSS I couldn't find anywhere that looked right, I saw a grease fitting that had red high temp grease on it from factory and the other side looked like a breather plug
@DIRT BOSS I admit it was stupid not to look into it further, guy I bought from said it didn't take gear oil. It was all hydraulic, I took his word for it
@@traviskidwell3766 he's correct it doesn't take gear oil but you were supposed to take the hydraulic line quick-connect off and fill the line with hydraulic oil so it doesn't dry run the motor
@DIRT BOSS crazy, I even emailed agrotek service dept. And never got an answer like what you just told me. I did take square plug off pump and fluid rolled out before I ever used it, idk what happened
Where does the gear oil go??
Hydraulic
👍
Muito top like abraço
👌🤓
@dirt boss Did somebody Hacked Andrew Camarata Channel? I see it has a different name and no Videos….????? What’s up with that, I know you know him.

Thanks for the review Mike.
From the AGT website: AGT - Agrotk Industrial founded in 2004 in China.
"skid steer brush cutter Our warehouse is in Chicago.
Agrotk has the best and cheapest skid steer brush cutter, brush mower, and brush hog. Price from $3022. Stock in Chicago."
I thought all blades swing
These do there just on the tight side
You needed a new GoPro, didn't you? LOL
That go pro almost got killed 3 times making that video LOL
@@DIRT-BOSS Maybe my wife will let me get a new GoPro if I run over the old one. LOL. Keep up the good work Mike. How did you like that brush cutter?
@@MichaelJones1527 I really don't have nothing to judge it by just from what I see on RUclips.. but I was pretty impressed with it
