If i want to be honest probably since she doesnt have many skin yet so the player cant play doll with her. Having one or two epic with decent effect probably can help boost her popularity
From a Luara main, I go with the tier two life steal item after buying attack speed boots, before focusing on the other items. Cuz it's really helpful during trades since Laura has probably the best regen capabilities due to her multiple sustained damage sources ( fast basic attacks and her spinning knives). So against most marksmen without burst damage, she'll most likely out last them in early fights and be more comfortable in teamfights due to her increased survivability.
She's squishy but unique - probably the only marksman who does sustained aoe damage and with the potential to wipe out teams at once with bad positioning.
So she's one of those heroes you should never allow to get ahead. Devs didn't give her pentakill voice lines for no reason. :-|

@@thebeastfromwithin3024 Tier 1- vampiric scythe, tier 2- blood soul, then tier 3 life steal- blood sweeper or other equipments that use blood soul in their recipe.

@@Enjina0810 She does need crit, that's why I mentioned going for the cheap lifesteal item first then focusing on the rest of the build.

Man, watching you not enhancing her passive for a whole minute (from 7:53 to 9:05) is PAINFUL xD. I assume she's not one of your mains.
On a serious note, i feel like most players just don't pressure hard enough with her during laning stage. Her 1-2 combo is easily one of the best dmg trade in the early game. Even in this game you barely pressure the lane even though you were facing Alessio - Mozi, who's on the weaker side in early game.
As for her build's restriction, it could be worked around using her Arcana and 1 neat item trick :
1. For the Arcana, sorry to say this, but the one you were using is kinda weak (way too much atk spd) and delay her passive's enhance too much. IMO, she desperately needs AT LEAST 10% crit rate from her Arcana, which mean using Calamity for her red Arcana.
2. For the item trick, after finishing Shadow Ripper/1st item, BUY RAGING CLAW IMMEDIEATELY. For context, RC is the Tier 1 item that gave 15% crit chance. If you notice, with the crit chances from her Arcana (minimum 10%) + Shadow Ripper (25%) + RC (15%), you already hit the required 50% crit chance to enhance her passive, saving you a lot of times since you don't have to wait until you finish Eternity Blade to enhance her passive.
In this game, if you follow the 2 things above, you should be able to enhance your passive at 5:11 (around the time you built SR and enough gold for RC) instead of waiting for EB at 7:53, thus making you hit Luara's power spike much faster.

Her basic attack is still the one who will primarily be dealing the most damage
So that's why I'm pumping up all the way to her atkspd
And it doesn't change the atkspd of her 1-2 combo it only applies after hitting your basic attack when it starts to riochet
And it's impossible to harass your laner against a mozi you will instantly get stunned before reaching the range of your 2nd skill
And they will just back when you try to use it
Take note that she has a very low survivability
Her additional movespeed from 1st is not even helping at all

Shes just... weird. She has no good escape tools, her run over walls skill is arbitrarily limited to only once(compared to augran for example) and its not even a real escape tool because you want to use it offensively due to how her kit works, but then the cooldown is too long to have it back up in time when you actually need to escape. In fact, i feel like her cooldowns are a tad too long in general for a character that reliant on her spells. Her range is too short for how little escape/get-off-me tools she has, and while her damage late game is good, there are stronger alternatives with better get-off-me tools or better escape tools... or both in the case of loong. Shes not weak enough to be "bad" but shes not strong enough to be a top pick either. Super fun to play, but thats honestly the only reason to play her currently

1:30 Speaking about her alt build, i've met a Luara with interesting build. This was also happened to be the same game where i start noticing about the item trick i mentioned.
Anyway, the build is : atk spd boots - Shadow Ripper - Tier 1 item Raging Claw (to boost her passive) - Sparkforged Dagger - Bloodweaper - Cuirass of Savagery - upgrade RC to Eternity Blade.
The idea is after boosting her passive, she doesn't really need any crit items anymore (at least not until late game), so you could buy SD as 2nd item for its atk spd. Keep in mind that her passive ALSO TRIGGERS SD's PROC, which makes it even more potent. To put it simply, she's like a budget Di Rendjie with this build
@@youagain8447 the sparkforged dagger and any on hit effect items does trigger her 1st skill ricochet
But the damage is like around 5% of the original damage only
So if your 1st starts dealing damage for like 100 damage every ricochet then the magic damage passive of the sparkforged will only deal like 5-10 damage per hit and the lightning will only deal for like 20-30 damage only and it has a separate trigger mark
Like you will trigger the lightning effect from your basic and the one from the ricochet
The damage is really not even that much compared to having critical with the ricochet
@@kyouitvHuh, guess i just never noticed it because of its visual. Tbf, i only used that build in games where i couldn't reach the backlines easily (i.e, facing long-ranged heroes like Garo or high mobility like Arli), so i just hit the frontliners. SD helps me chip down both the frontliners and the backlines at the same time through its proc (even if it's way weaker than normal)
Diamond 3 here, thanks to Luara she's helped me climb a ton. Before reaching diamond I was surprised that not many people use her. I'd say she's very strong and if you do end up in a game where you have to concede your lane she's a great split pusher and relative to the matchup you can start 1 or 2. Example: if I see that they have a lanling I tend to go 1 lvl.1. or if I'm up against Garo I might start 2 to trade harassment. She excels at pressuring the enemy team for sure ESPECIALLY when they make a mistake, and remember positioning is EVERYTHING

Laura's ability is quite low because she requires a lot of farming, since there are heroes that are more aggressive and since she has no way to get out of delicate situations
When I play her, it's like sometimes she feels like she has no damage at first but when she does it's like giving sustain damage? If I watch her, I find it hard to tell that she has some flaws during the games
I don't even know how people can handle situations if she doesn't do so much damage, maybe if she has popularity or a change in balance, maybe she can have recognition if she has the possibility.
Since Lauras is not seen as much because she seems to have no damage or because she feels bad on the opposite side

I played her a lot when She first came out, but I was also a new player in global, so there were a lot of heroes still left to try out.
I recently came back to her, and she is really good imo.
The problem with Luara is that her gameplay is really niche. Not saying that they should rework her. I just wish they made I easier for Luara to deal damage in the early game. I swear when I play Luara the only time I've ever felt strong is during later stages of the game.
I hope LI makes here more early game-friendly.
laura is one of my mains as well...i always position her sideways so the damage won't be straight way coming to your face...
overall, she is fun to use
as User Luara, Luara like other unic heroes;
her special items are not available.
Luara must makes it or creates it combined by two items ( or more ) for getting the Effects and Impact that suits on her Skill kits and Base power ( for enhance and elevate ).
*I created some things different for Luara ( by myself ).

she don’t have a scape skill, i think this is the reason she’s not a priority pick compared to others meta MM like Arli and Loong
Her s1 literally lets her jump over a wall. With s1 and flash you shouldn't be getting caught by anyone
Luara is a late monster you just need to provide her protection and she'll take care of the damage.
Very good hero especially in late game but in the early game you need to get babysitted alot by your roamer
