    Like your videos. I’ll be fishing for the first time without a guide. Staying at Waters Edge in Stoddard. Five day stay this September. (I know it’s January but I’m planning my year). Any suggestions on spots and what to use?

    What is the advantage of using In-line reels vs. open face? Is it the reel of choice in all applications? Thanks.

    • @AnglerX
      @AnglerX  10 дней назад +1

      The inline reels are good for lighter jigs and light line. The spools are bigger in diameter than a spinning reel spool so there is less coiling of the line when using mono. Spinning reels are preferred for heavier baits like jigging spoons when fishing deeper. A spinning reel allows you to get down to the fish faster by simply opening the bail. I use both but for lighter jigs I prefer the inline reels.

    I see you use traditional sonar instead of a vex. What's your reasoning?

    • @AnglerX
      @AnglerX  12 дней назад +1

      The Hummingbird units can be used year round for ice and boat. I have a marcum flasher that I use occasionally. Traditional sonar gives a better picture of how the fish are reacting but both sonar and flashers are effective.

    Why are you fishing?
    Throwing back all crappies….
    Small, we agree,
    super heavy females, we agree and are always returned asap.
    BUT, THE NICE MEATY FILETS ON THE LARGE CRAPPIES WERE never harvested?
    Lure demo?
