Watching old GOTD episodes because I’m bored. I love Lemmo, but sometimes I feel nostalgic for the Agnesi days. 70s strats are underrated. I especially like the natural finish with the big CBS era headstock. Hendrix played a CBS era, Yngwie has the big headstock on his guitar, and Ed king used a 70s strat on Sweet Home Alabama. There’s so many reasons to love 70s Strats! I understand why the Leo era ones are more sought after, but these are great too! You can get a cool vintage guitar for cheaper.

3 bolt neck, bullet truss, staggered grey botton pickups and the big headstock. I love that combination. If you're lucky you find a light 3,6kg one, these are the best.

I've got a seventy three,I don't use pedals. I play it through a 64Princeton,non reverb. I gotta tell ya, my guitar sounds alot more full and lush than the one you're playing. Don't those amps have three tens not four. I still have the original case and it's beat. I bought the guitar in'78 for $300.00 Thanks for sharing, stay safe God bless Rock on 🙏😷🎶❗👀

I know Ritchie blackmore had a Sunburst 71 strat with a maple 4 bolt neck with a non-bullet headstock trussrod and skunk stripe. I believe it to be a special run or something. He then got a strat like this one in 1973 during the last months of Mk2 DP.

Brings back memories. First Strat I ever got to play on was a mid 70's black beauty w/maple neck. It had too much brightness also, but in the right spots had plenty of 'quack' as well. Way to end the week. Rude Mood. Duuuude!

What's funny about this video is back in the 80s actually back in 1988 I bought a brand new Les Paul Custom and about six months after I owned it I sold it and bought a used 72 Strat in a pawn shop for $650 I have not once ever regreted getting rid of my Les Paul but I regret and will always regret selling my 72 Strat
    Play authentic..

I loathed this era of Strats for so long but now I kinda like the looks. A Custom Shop version, with a tight neck pocket, lighter-weight body and better pickups would cure the ills of this era.

    • @michaelkarlsson5966

I can recommend "classic series 70s" and "vintera 70s" and "vintera II 70s" and even the "American Vintage II '73" since Custom shop is silly expensive. Those are great models, I think

love the guitar but I'd much rather hear it through an old super reverb or other blaceface era amp. Those hotrod DeVille amps make everything sound somewhat sterile to me. Great guitars deserve amps at least as good. Great playing man!!

How can you show case a 73 natural strat without a few Blackmore riffs? It amazes me.....he had the most famous natural strat that he used from about the Burn album with Purple through early Rainbow. Guitar was stolen.

I got an 80's MIJ '72 REIssue.. it came with flat pole pieces in those plastic bobbins, so I staggered them... But I don't know why it came with flat...? If Mark here says that they would've been still staggered and became flat in '75! (Don't like the loud E on a 7,25" radius neck with flat poles..)
