Dude: the entire fallacy which IS "the r 'n' r hall of shame" is a crime again humanity!! ...jawn weiner and his underservedly wealthy friends (whom this is a project to entertain them and sustain their veil of "some form of actual 'worth' " -which they DO NOT POSSESS, OR DESERVE!). You need to rejigger your thinking if you have ever considered this institution: "legitimate" or "actually representational." Please!
You are both right imo. The chorus seems blues and JP's solo very rock like. The verses are western like. This song is an anthem ... Bad Company squared.
Simple man, underrated song off running with the pack album, really shows Paul Rogers vocal capabilities. Also the way I choose is a phenomenal song, both highly recommended.
I'm with Sam on this song! I've always thought of it as hard rock. What blows my mind is that this is a British band that formed in London. This song, and many others have a flavor of American Wild West Civil War era deserters/bandits.
Paul Rogers is the cousin of Jimmy Page. The band went on a concert without him and it did not go well on that tour. Paul talked to Robert Plant and told him that the band went on tour and did not do well. Robert told him it was because your vocals are soulful. If you think about it, what would Led Zep be without Robert Plant. Same thing applies to Bad Company without Paul Rogers.
The 70s put out so much good music. Bad Company was one of the many great bands. Paul Rodgers is one of the most versatile singers rock n roll has ever seen. Had a stint with Queen and others. Dude is just darn good.
The great vocals of Paul Rodgers (also of "Free") "All Right Now." One of the top Classic Rock eras (1960s and 70s) Bands. It sounds like the music to a gunfight scene in a Western cowboy movie.
When you consider the time when Bad Co. formed and produced this amazing and iconic album was around 50 years ago, it's still incredible today. Massive shout out to Paul Rodgers, one of the finest rock voices we ever produced here in the UK. 🙋♂
I’d pay to watch Paul sing the phone book. They wrote this song thinking of the old spaghetti westerns. This song is so much better live with Paul on the piano.
The song was my intro into Bad Co as a younger teenager. When I heard Simon Kirk playing the drums on this, I had to find out who the drummer was, and who the lead vocalist was then after that, of course Mick Ralphs on guitar and Boz Burrell on base, so dang good
Great tune guys, love it. I suggest 'Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy' next please. Similar subject but different than 'Shooting Star', one of my favorites for sure. Cheers.
my number 4 band of all time.they got soooo much good stuff.never hear enough said about em.had a ton of radio hits but should dig deeper.(deal with the preacher, wildfire woman, live for the music, too bad, everything i need, sweet lil sister, etc.)
Bad Company is referring to Quantrell's Raiders deserters from the Civil War that raided and rampaged throughout the west during the war! They were the beginning of the James Gang, Frank & Jesse originally riding with Quantrell!!
This is their first album, and listeners didn't have anything to compare it to until their second album Stright Shooter came out. Bad Co. first album didn't have a bad song on it and I couldn't wait until their second.
Bad Company should be the first thing you hear from Bad Company. Should had been the first thing on the album. Next, I'd recommend Moving On from the same album.
The bass, piano, and drums really make this song, along with the vocal lines, of course. As for "rock v blues" ... I really don't know the difference I consider rock to be like a higher category or box that accepts inputs from a variety of sources, including blues, gospel, classical, folk, country, Latin, reggae, and whatever else there is. I find that often the best rock songs combine two or more of these inputs. In this case, I think they were attempting to combine blues with a vaguely western saloon piano, and then adding the electric guitar and bass, plus drums, making it more of a rock song. As I say, I'm not really sure where the boundaries are on these things. Apparently Dylan was folk when he played acoustic, and rock when he played electric guitar. 🤷♂
From the same album, “ Can’t Get Enough” and “ Rock Steady”! Oh yeah you can just imagine “ Bad Company” being played in a Western movie as the hero gunslinger rides in to take care of the bad guys who run the town. They should have used this song in “ Tombstone” or “ Unforgiven” and I can’t believe that no film producer has ever thought of it being appropriate for any film of any genre where a big confrontation needs resolving!! Paul Rodgers. Legend.
Jr high 75 rest 70's Highschool didn't like my school or classmates but loved my rock and roll Rest of my school was into that disco.I wasn't so I was an outcast. That's okay.Don't bother me a bit and the opinions of my classmates.Don't matter to me At all my life was better without them but not without my rock and roll
I love this group from the very beginning.Man, as soon as I heard Paul's voice.Wow, it inspired me to sing later on.I became a four active range graduate grand rapids community college singer
Paul Rodgers, leading another great band after Free ran its course, with their signature song. Great in studio. It took on a life of its own live, with Paul on piano and/or Mick Ralph's on stinging lead guitar. One of the best songs in my life, forever a Bad Co fan. For another live thrill from them, do Ready for Love, live at the Hard Rock back about 15-20 years ago, the jam at the end of that song gives me chills and is them in Rock Godz mode. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
If you like the bluesy sounds of Bad Company, you may like to check out vocalist Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke's previous band, called Free. It sounds like you're going to react to All Right Now, but you really need to react to Free's song, "Mr Big." It's a tour de force.
I've been listening to this song since it came out and this is the first time I have heard someone say it sounds like blues. Not saying that you're wrong, we just always thought of this as rock. And this is coming from someone from Chicago who saw all the blues legends of the time. Muddy Waters, twice, Johnny Winter, SRV, Koko Taylor, Willy Dixon, Buddy Guy four times, Taj Mahal, and that's a partial list.
This song was written by Paul Rodgers and Simon kirke -Drums (Both were from the previous band "FREE"). Other masterpiece songs from this album are "Can't Get Enough" , "Movin' On", "Rock Steady", "Ready For Love".To mentioned the songs that are countless hits are "Good Lovin' Gone Bad", "Live For The Music", "Burnin' Sky", "Rock' n' Roll Fantasy" and etc.
"Bad company" was my nickname in my youth; He was the happy and dark friend of the square. Good friends! great band you chose; that first full album is a gem. Greetings from Guanaqueros; Chile.
I know in some previous interviews, Rogers had stated something to the effect that he had been influenced to write the lyrics after reading about some highwaymen. To me, it fits and parallels greatly the lives of Frank and Jesse James, from their running with Quantrill and then terrorizing towns after the war. The live version of this song, when they are much older, is, to me (And I really can’t believe I’m saying This!) Even better!
This whole album is a masterpiece. Not one bad song on it.
Burning Sky is like that too.
Unbelievably Bad Company has never been put into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.A true crime against humanity.
@nightcitypunk8517 and yet they put Dolly Parton in and she sung country music heck even rappers too that is strange
Dude: the entire fallacy which IS "the r 'n' r hall of shame" is a crime again humanity!!

Please!
Nah- badge if honor. If you consider how much great talent hasn't been selected, while shit often has made it in, the criteria for entry is moronic.
Paul Rogers refused about 7 times apparently because he believes rock àn roll ain’t for no museum! Truly living up to their name,🇬🇧👍be lucky
Paul Rogers voice is top 5 best imo
ELVIS PRESELY, ROBERT PLANT. FREDDIE MERCURY. STEVE PERRY. PAUL ROGERS
Easy! I think a lot of other singers name him as their favorites.👍

THIS IS HOW WE ROCKED BACK THEN!!!!!!
Loved playing this one with my band.
"Can't Get Enough", Good Lovin' Gone Bad", "Rock Steady" all bangers.
Free and then Bad Company, Paul Rodgers recorded some fantastic music
Don't forget The Firm! Remember "Radioactive?"
Paul’s solo album is fire too! He played all the instruments!
Swan Song record company. Those that know, know.

Love watching the kids react to great old music.
They certainly made a great band title song. Others I'd recommend - Ready for Love, Rock n' Roll Fantasy, Good Lovin' Gone Bad, Rock Steady.
"Lonely for You Love" because of the vocals, love that "rasp". lol
Good Lovin Gone Bad
Seagull
Simple man, underrated song off running with the pack album, really shows Paul Rogers vocal capabilities. Also the way I choose is a phenomenal song, both highly recommended.
This is what you call Rock and Roll
That voice gives me goosebumps,I loved this band from the first time I heard them😊
Silver , blue and gold, you like that one
Great ballad
Paul Rodgers has the absolute best voice in rock! Pure magic!
You can't go wrong with Bad Company. Ever.
BAD COMPANY - " RUN WITH THE PACK " 🎸🎶 Another 70s Rock Classic.
I'm with Sam on this song! I've always thought of it as hard rock. What blows my mind is that this is a British band that formed in London. This song, and many others have a flavor of American Wild West Civil War era deserters/bandits.
Silver, blue & Gold is another great song
The most American sounding British rock band ever.
Got this Album back in 74! It still rocks

Bad Company is my favorite Super Group =) Their really a "Rock & Roll Fantasy" ! Thanks Y'all
“Can’t Get Enough” off the same album is a banger. Hugely popular in the US.
Popular tune for ROCK radio I grew up to this song at least 3 times a day in the 70s-80s.
I saw them in 77 they played this song. Phenomenal live band back.then
The 70s put out so much good music. Bad Company was one of the many great bands. Paul Rodgers is one of the most versatile singers rock n roll has ever seen. Had a stint with Queen and others. Dude is just darn good.
Hell of a debut album! not a bad song anywhere, every one a banger!
Just saw them recently. Paul still sounds and looks amazing
First album released by the record company Led Zepplin started.

From "Free" to "Bad Company" Paul Rogers is an amazing vocalist bar none. And Greetings from Seattle!
The sky is burning is a great song!
Excellent funk!
Bad Company " Young Blood" . You two will love it. !!
Nice reaction. One of my favorite deeper cuts from this album is "The Way I Choose". Check out "Seagull" for a little softer side of the group.
Another plug for Seagull.
What a lovely, grimy rock song. Paul Rodgers has such a quintessential rock voice.
Movin' On is a good rocker too..
The great vocals of Paul Rodgers (also of "Free") "All Right Now." One of the top Classic Rock eras (1960s and 70s) Bands. It sounds like the music to a gunfight scene in a Western cowboy movie.
Bad Co, on the album Bad Co, singing "Bad Co", worth the redundancy.
Bad Company is just so damn good!

Speaking of Paul Rogers,I see you also reacted to Free Alright Now which also has him singing. Not sure if you guys were aware he was in that group.
This one will always be my favorite. That intro alone is mesmerizing.
And to know the vocals and keys were recorded at night in a moon lit field, makes it even more mesmerizing.
"If You Needed Somebody" & "Silver, Blue & Gold" are more great ones from Bad Company!
Great group.
I love this group from the very beginning.Man, as soon as I heard Paul's voice.Wow, it inspired me to sing later on.I became a four active range graduate grand rapids community college singer
Paul is singing and playing piano. Paul was offered the vocalist spot of Deep Purple at one time and he sang with Queen a couple years too
Need to check out "Shooting Star" by Bad Company. Cause it's all part of my rock and roll fantasy.

The Eagles were doing 'Wild West' motif rock in the 70s as well in Outlaw Man & the slow, sad Desperado.
