- Thank you for watching. In this video we will demonstrate how to set up an ESP32 based multisensor. We will connect a Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) and CO2 sensor to the ESP32 module.
Seeed Studio (seedstudio.com) have provided us with some ESP32 modules and sensors, along with their Grove expansion boards, so we have used these to demonstrate how to build a sensor. More details available at wiki.seeedstudio.com/Connect-...
You will need an ESP32 board. This will not work with the older ESP8266 based boards. A selection of suitable boards can be found at Seeed Studio, Amazon and AliExpress, links below:

This is a really great tutorial. Quick, clear and to the point.
I was actually expecting for more information on the sensors capability and use. This was more of a how to on compile and uploading code to an esp
Note: You can just click "Install" directly it will save the file before uploading.
Saving is great for making changes to the file and coming back after some time before installing it.
What about creating custom components, Can you show us how to make one from Scratch ?
Can get my ESP boards setup through the Arduino IDE but always get various error messages when using ESP Home and I've tried all sorts of remedies and videos.
I think grove shield doesn't work with ESP32C3... Can you confirm?
Stumbled on it also - sgp30 should work with 3.3v logic (as itself its running 1.8v logic, but board has level shifters). But it won't work on esp32c3+pictured shield while exaclty the same code will work arduino pro + grove shield. So I'm thinking if there something that can be done or not. I did not run home assistant. I ran simple seeeedstudio recommended sample sketch. At the same time seeedstudio states that it should work.
I use the XIAO ESP32C3 board for extending bluetooth signal, but it turns off after 1-2 minutes. It is probably overheating. Do you know what can be wrong? I use another esp32 for same purpose, but it is powered by micro usb cable, can it be the reason and do you know how it can be solved? It is very hot even if it is powered through usb hub in notebook
in yaml file I connect devices just with

You either may have a faulty unit or you might need to help with heat dissipation. I've seen reports of people using Raspberry Pi heatsinks on the ESP32 chip.
thank you for quick response, I have another unit for my friend, so I will test it if it is better@@SmartHomeAddict
It is very annoying with the background music, is this informational or entertaining?
