You and me alike, although there seems to be a retro return in some anime specially when they adapt older manga or LN. Gundam Origin is great example of taking old style and making it somewhat more modern.
What I really loved about this scene is how emotional Kaori was when they began the ceremony thinking about Makimura. Even though Ryo reminded her it was just an act to lure the thugs in, his smile after she revealed how much she wished Makimura was there to witness it despite it being an act. Plus, despite his flaws and how tough he acts, Kaori had no idea how much he really did care for her. Why he never revealed this up until this point is a mystery. The only other time he expressed his true feelings to her was when she was brainwashed in Season 2 and activated the nuke on the boat.

He expressed how he felt about Kaori, even shared a romantic moment with her, only for her to not remember any of the events that transpired. (Of course he went back to his mokkori ways and she started chasing him with her megaton hammer. XD)

This is probably my favorite ending for any City Hunter episode. They do an amazing job of portraying character emotions, mainly because they follow the golden rule "Show, don't tell".
What makes this special is its heavily implied they get married at the end of the manga, for those that want evidence In the last chapter 191 Forever, City Hunter. 1) Ryo says to the villian while in front of Kaori “I survive by any means for the one I love, & I protect her anyway I can. Didn’t I tell you that much.” 2) After while blushing like crazy Kaori says to Ryo “Im dying to throw myself in your arms But I wonder its not due to the instinct conservation of our species” to which he blushes back. 3) She then says “How happy I am, its the first time you’ve said such a thing, So happy I could die now.” To which he responds “I’ll never let you die.” 4) He notices a flower from the brides bouquet that Kaori caught & smiles saying “So you did catch the bouquet even if its just a fragment” as she blushes in his arms 5) Last but not least in the vesy last panel they show a wedding ring.
Kaori really was a top teir Waifu, wasn't she? Her beauty is so natural that it's incredible easy to fall for her. Makes me sad that, as far as I know, Ryo never wifed her
Ryo and Kaori was fabulous as bride and groom. Although I was hoping that Ryo and Saeko will be together for life. In the anime series Angel Heart, Saeko's dream was having the family and a very peaceful happiness with Ryo.

there's Christians in Japan, they even have shops where they make custom Bible covers, it's interesting didn't expect it though. I have a family member who's friends with a ministry in Japan, they're very kind people 😊
Yea, I was too. Most anime I’ve seen have Buddhism in it, if it’s talking about religion. Anohana for example. Japanese Christians are a small percentage of the population, especially since this is the 1980s we’re talking about.
Lots of Japanese have christian weddings because shinto weddings are too expensive; they can still dress up and entertain their guests without breaking the bank

Ohh yeah the aesthetic and character designs go to hell after CH2. CH91 has the worst designs from the shows original run. The 90s OVAs look terrible as well.
could be intersting though towrds Ran or Sonoko wouldnt he get so excited as he has an under 18 year brake ,though i am not up to date wiith the detective Conan anime to be honest ,though a Case were Eri is threatened where Ryo is hired but Kogoros jealousy is played could make a interesting crossover as he seems in his youth have been in skill not to be understimatet so where both are trying to best each other is great . plus Kaori and the detective boys could make some wholesome moments . Also Saeko and Conan would make some interesting combi like in that he is as briliant ever though she slightly Ara ara him threat him as sort of little brother or tease him and would try to get him as junior partner in some years near the end (if you get what i mean ) ,how Conan alias Shinichi would interact with Ryo well that i am unshure though i would think that they wouldnt get along well ,though i would wish that Ai gets an method so let him be Shinichi for some hours or a day so that we see the combi Shinichis brain and Ryos brawns as the Antagonist in that movie is so formidable (intelectual strategic and combat techinical) that both are required to put their differences aside and ally , as serveral drug sindicates are in City hunter seen and involved could i imagine a connection of the black organisation also as possible direction (after all the underground world is better connected as one might think) like Ai could find one where she could get top secret recepts of drugs that she could use to find ways to counteract Apotoxins effects as it is a pill formed toxin would it fall in the drug type toxin . I would think that Ai and Saeko wold get splendidly along together as both are coquette ,high minded i mean level minded ladies . Honestly it would be great to see a serious Ryo hunt Gin and Wodka down now that i think on it and see if Gin is as dangerous how he always try to pretend to be or if he is just talk( i am truly interested to know if he is this skilled ). Also would it be a idea that Kazuha and or Heiji is forced by their fathers to make a police internship where Kauha or Heiji are having Saeko as mentor . sorry if that was now much but i got inspired ,what are your own ideas ?

I get that certain characters only use emotion in important situations to pack a punch but it must suck for the other person.
He had to be concerned because he realised he just screwed up by dropping his gun, almost costing him Kaori's death.

while kaori is never stated to be ugly i think she gets mistaken for a guy (a very pretty one) because of her fashion style and personality.
