I've watch all your videos so far on this mustang. All I can say is thank you so much. I have wanted to do a budget "crusty" mustang for a while. Now I have a playlist to watch when I get one. Great Vids man keep up the good work!
Man, look @ them GT40's.......wish I had a set! All I have is p's. Better than nothing, though, lol. Old vid, but priceless info for folks like me. Thanks
I love my composite harbor freight ratchet too. They take some abuse and are so cheap. The day you break it just buy another one and you are still saving money. Lol.
love tbe videos i just got my 2.3 out and aod and driveshaft and exhaust out these videos are really cool because its like the cars are Frankensteined but they still sound and work really good
Great video man, I'm guessing you'll pick up at least a tenth. I got alot done on my fox body over the last couple wks. Body is done, motor and trans are in and the majority of the wiring is done. It's 3 different colors but I feel like that just gives it character, lol!.
50tussin Well, I've been working on it for a few months and just started to get somewhere over the last 2wks,lol. I still have plenty to do, rear end, suspension, fuel system, brakes. I wanna run Fuel Tech, I have it on my Nova but it's so damn expensive. Don't really know what I'm gonna do for induction and fuel delivery yet.
I always get such a kick out of watching these videos! LOL! Cannot wait to see what it's going to run! Getting ready to order a set of 26x10 stiff us like you said.. been working on a boom tube or (poon-tube) as we've been calling it, what size diameter pvc do you use? And what's the rounded face made from? Keep on with the great videos 50tussin you and those high top kicks always get me laughing, OH! Dad and I used to watch Rawhide and Gunsmoke together all the time lol
New video will be up very soon....it's 4" schedule 40 (thin wall) pvc..the inlet is actually a turbonetics turbo inlet, it was pretty pricey back when i got it but you can find much cheaper options on ebay..roughly $17-20 for a 4" one........internet cookie for the trivia answer lol.......
87 the engine was setup for carb so i figured keep the carb fuel injection would require more stuff i want pretty much enough to run it for the moment i appreciate any help i saw your video on the car with the ranger pedal assembly that looks like its really fun to drive
The LTD LX? yeah its fun, i really like that car even though the combo is mis-matched as hell...we really need to kind of finish that deal off...we have actually been working on a few things involving it this week...its the only carb car we have lol...everything else is efi....we just have a ton of stuff to do/going on wth the other cars etc etc :O
Prob a stupid question but did you have to adjust the valves? Did you have to set the lash? I don't know how to do this so was hoping that I could see how you did this.
I feel like with the cam and unported gt40s, you will either pick up a tenth or it will fall flat on its face below 2500 and above 4000 and the time will get worse. But hey, that's why its called the MYSTERY CAM!
Guttentag is the torque spec I use lmao just got my x cam for my 331 can't wait to get this engine done and in the car its gonna be a turbo build though, most people don't realize the abc' cams make great boost/power adder cams
7.48@91... sounds alot like mine. cept i don't got the nice gt40s.. old e7 mysteries. wish i had a set of slicks.. just put a 94 70mm maf on.. feels better but like you say timeslips tell the tale.. my butt dyno sucks too. what are your thoughts on stiff wall vs wrinkle?
I personally (so far) like the stiff's....but as always there are a ton of variables, i havent ran them on a "known" variable meaning car......only ran them on Krusty once at another track so i dont have a ton of data....our track is better imo than the one we used to race at so there's that.....Pirate has run about the same '60's at both with his stick car so thats the only real data i have..........the only downside is the weight, they are 2-3 pounds heavier depending on size.........
Gotcha. Kinda looking for something for my car atm..havent decided if I want full slicks or just some radials. Don't go to track often just want something in case I do. Mostly a daily fun car.
Well i would say if you play on the street alot or would want to use them on the street get a radial but be prepared for some inconsistency at the track...it's a guessing game with a stick/DR's and a TNT prepped track and can be frustrating...slicks help take out some of the starting line variables but life on the street is basically nil plus the law doesnt like them lol..........
Yea I try to play nice on street. but if I went to track id like to be able to just run..i don't bracket race be more for fun. come to think of it...may be better not dead hooking like a slick anyways cause id hate to break...
You can always start out high (psi) on the slicks and bring it down till it starts hooking hard.........i see a lot of guys struggle with the DR's (stick shift) and get pissed....and again track conditions are generally not the best on TNT so the slick helps there........price is basically the same also...........
You may have to shift a little higher to keep in the powerband each shift. Again not sure on the cam specs but does sound like 220'+ durations on 112 l obe centers. Hopefully you get a min of 6 runs to test out the shift points. My guess, 7.42 @91mph w/1.54 60 ft
Thats the problems we face...trying to get it sorted with unknown specs....plus in my experience cams dont seem to pick up a ton on really mild combos, factor in the different tires and the always unknown TNT track prep and it takes awhile to get one really figured out imho............
Yep...basically what 96% of the "home" mechanics do......well at least the ones i know but i run with a rough crowd lol..........and thanks for the view:)
I'm pretty sure that's the actual right way to do it lmao I think people who use a degree wheel are freaking retards I mean come on seriously even if you actually moving it 4 or 8 deg there is a freaking notch that says 4 or 8 in the crank gear which offsets it said degrees lol
have you ever used or heard much about the pro comp aluminum heads..they have them on eBay for 649.00 complete includes shipping..after I run my car if it ever don't rain on a test a test and tune day and see what it runs and then put them on..just wondering if you think it would make a difference over stock gt40 heads
I've never run them...some people (internet) love them some hate them lol...i'm curious about their comment "no piston notching required" thats a bold statement with a 2.02 valve and even a stock cam....they also need studs/guide plates/rockers and hardened pushrods so add $250+ on top of the 649...i wouldnt be opposed to running them or trying them i just have to much money tied up into other stuff lol......the life of 9 fox bodies :(.....was hoping to get the ltd or Krusty up there sunday but it just looks like i'll have to wait till next friday...oh well, got plenty of car project work to do lol
50tussin I hear that on plenty to do..im rebuilding my 8.8 and some other stuff as we speak to get ready to run..thanks for the reply I may just hold off.. I just liked the price
Not trying to scare you off just that its kind of hit or miss with them on the net and you have to buy a few more things to bolt them on :D....................whats the combo you'll be running at the track?
Thats a nice little combo.......our poor LTd has a single plane vic. jr on it (bad) but does have a 3.97/2.34/1.46 geared 4cyl T5 to hide some of the torque loss lol..............your deal should be fun at the track :)
yes sir! ive been doing some research and ive read that the fuel lines, brake lines, rear shocks, driveshaft, rear have to be changed to work with the 302 and T5, oh and of course pedal assembly and doing a little bit of cutting on where the shifter assembly goes in. i was pretty fortunate to buy the car so cheap, its pretty much going to be a car built from Craigslist parts lol a true. Frankenstein
We've always got the ice bag with us....if i had all the money i've spent on icing the intake over the years i could probably buy another mustang lol..........
We dont know, guy thought it was a B cam but we knew it wasnt based on caliper specs...we caliper checked it when we got home and came up with .490/.500 lift just like the seller...there's no markings that came up on goggle so our assumption is that its a pretty old grind...very common back in the day ('90's) for people to whip up cams for these things and there were a ton of people doing them due to the popularity of the 5.0...nowadays not so much.........
50tussin I hear ya man, My Procharger came earlier this week and I just got it fired up yesterday. I went with 3" Black Widow pro venom exhaust and it sounds nasty, gave me cold chills lol! My wheels, suspension and cobra taillights should be here by Monday or Tuesday, hoping to take it for a drive in the next week or so. It's gonna be a saucy little thing,Hahaha!!
50tussin Yeah I've pretty much been on it full-time, we've only had 3 vehicles in the shop the past couple weeks and the guys have em under control so its given me plenty of time to get acquainted with my new toy, lol.
7.39 @ 92, I came to watch a cam swap, I stayed for the humor, great videos as always.
Thanks for the support!.....we think we are much funnier than we actually are lol..............
Videos are getting better and better! Keep up the great work Tussin!!!
Thanks, we try but fall short of our own expectations.....maybe i should lower them lol.........
I've watch all your videos so far on this mustang. All I can say is thank you so much. I have wanted to do a budget "crusty" mustang for a while. Now I have a playlist to watch when I get one. Great Vids man keep up the good work!
Thanks for the views...hopefully you'll find one you can get started on:)........and we've got more garbage coming lol
Man, look @ them GT40's.......wish I had a set! All I have is p's. Better than nothing, though, lol. Old vid, but priceless info for folks like me. Thanks
Lol...3bar life yo!
@@5.0tussin Ya, don't rub it in, haha . Guess it's just a part of growin' in the Foxlife : )
that composite ratchet had my knuckles nervous. great video as always!
Lol...love my little 72 tooth harbor freight ratchet :D
I love my composite harbor freight ratchet too. They take some abuse and are so cheap. The day you break it just buy another one and you are still saving money. Lol.
They are great little ratchets....just use within reason lol...
You never fail to entertain ..I lol'ed - great video the chop chop sounds good.
Trust me, lots of people dont find me funny...mainly ones i've met lol
love these videos. damn close to 1000 subs
Damn close to a 1000 people that have no taste :P lol...........just hope people get a laugh and some motivation :D
love tbe videos i just got my 2.3 out and aod and driveshaft and exhaust out these videos are really cool because its like the cars are Frankensteined but they still sound and work really good
Foxes are fun easy cars to work on......sounds like you're right in the middle of it lol........
Great video man, I'm guessing you'll pick up at least a tenth. I got alot done on my fox body over the last couple wks. Body is done, motor and trans are in and the majority of the wiring is done. It's 3 different colors but I feel like that just gives it character, lol!.
Damn....make me feel like i'm sluffing off lol.............yeah multi color is da bomb lol..........
50tussin Well, I've been working on it for a few months and just started to get somewhere over the last 2wks,lol. I still have plenty to do, rear end, suspension, fuel system, brakes. No pt31? YET Damn come on run this thing. lol Love your videos.
We are getting there lol......the weather has been fighting us a little bit......vid will be up soon:)
87 the engine was setup for carb so i figured keep the carb fuel injection would require more stuff i want pretty much enough to run it for the moment i appreciate any help i saw your video on the car with the ranger pedal assembly that looks like its really fun to drive

Awesome video. Just picked up my own Fox, hopefully will make a few passes in the summer
Awesome......what year/combo is it?...........and thanks for checking us out:)
50tussin 1990 331 stroker with mystery cam as well, TF heads, Gt40 intake, no name nitrous system that I'm scared to use
Thats some nice parts....auto or stick? gears?
50tussin stick (stock t5) and 3.73s with Auburn LSD or so I've been told. Interested to dyno it and see what she's making
Sounds good :)....keep me posted on how it does, track and dyno........
Nice cam song 😂 and great video 👍🏼
Thanks, we try to entertain :D
I do stuff like that all the time 😂
Prob a stupid question but did you have to adjust the valves? Did you have to set the lash? I don't know how to do this so was hoping that I could see how you did this.
gotta love a lumpy idle
N41 cam makes some serious power. I run it in a gt40p motor. Revs to the moon
Thats big money lol....Rick dont give them things away....we have a older N4 in another car :)...........
I was also going to ask you about the moss stang ? Haven’t seen anything on it for a while
David owns it and will be starting on it at some point, probably this coming spring........
Where did you get that seriously small underdrive crank pulley?
Mostly used but UPR has an off brand ebay account and sells them there as well or used to...........
New sport....Cam Curls....Doesn't sound too bad. Should be interesting.
almost 1000 subscribers!! awesome
Cant believe there's that many people with so much time to waste lol.......its flattering though, never thought it would get to 500 lol...........
I feel like with the cam and unported gt40s, you will either pick up a tenth or it will fall flat on its face below 2500 and above 4000 and the time will get worse. But hey, that's why its called the MYSTERY CAM!

I actually usually wait for my elbow to pop and call it good lmao
That works also lol
7.48@91... sounds alot like mine. cept i don't got the nice gt40s.. old e7 mysteries. wish i had a set of slicks.. just put a 94 70mm maf on.. feels better but like you say timeslips tell the tale.. my butt dyno sucks too. what are your thoughts on stiff wall vs wrinkle?

Hey you also have a Gatorade bottle as a coolant resorvor to!
In what video do you cover that?
It's a secret we didnt share, but it's out now....thanks alot! :P
Why do mustang hate not having a resivoir lol mine won't do it without one lol it spits too much and then there nothing to suck up
I can't wait to Install the battle boxs on my car 😳
I hate doing any stuff like that lol................i feel your pain!
line it up dot to dot! I love it!
Yep...basically what 96% of the "home" mechanics do......well at least the ones i know but i run with a rough crowd lol..........and thanks for the view:)

Rodney, do you connect a breather to the pcv valve or how do you have that set up in the back of the intake?
Small breather on the pcv..........
thank you bro
I get them off ebay, all the local chain stores carry them in the "performance" section lol
yeah the local äutozone or advancedauto parts"is 3000 miles and a ocean away from me! LMFAO
Oh snap! lol
With the new "R" race series cam and new meats I'm thinking/hoping for 7.3XX time slip.
Well, we just hope to see a improvement.....unknown cam, #5 burns oil like a mofo and the weather is warming up day by day :(
Replace the valveseals?
7.39 at idk. I see Jack installed the lower intake while u were doing parts bit .
Yep...he's a hella good helper when he isnt bitching about getting rubbed :P
When are we getting a track video ? wheelie time after curls for the girls and the cats
Track video will be up soon....we had a storm last night and Jack got wet so he's in a mood............
Lol
Hell yeah brother
Dang…comment on an old Trojan vid💪🏻…it’ll be back soon taking turns with SILVERCAR for completion after the boats running 🤓
have you ever used or heard much about the pro comp aluminum heads..they have them on eBay for 649.00 complete includes shipping..after I run my car if it ever don't rain on a test a test and tune day and see what it runs and then put them on..just wondering if you think it would make a difference over stock gt40 heads

50tussin 89 gt stock bottom end, gt40 heads, e cam, 373, 5 speed, gt40 upper and lower, All most the motor you got in the ltd
Thats a nice little combo.......our poor LTd has a single plane vic. jr on it (bad) but does have a 3.97/2.34/1.46 geared 4cyl T5 to hide some of the torque loss lol..............your deal should be fun at the track :)
LOL! curling the cam was official.
Ha! Thanks for the view:)
Maybe i missed it but was it a stock cam up until this point or what cam was in it?
Stock cam....then the $50 "mystery" cam=)
Rowdy Yates. Rawhide 1956 think.
think with the change the time should go by 7.40 @ 92.
Rowdy Yates!! 😄👍🏻
You sir, win a prize! lol
Thanks but I have no use for SBF parts! 😄
Touche!....they make great door stops though?
I'm sure they do! 😄 I'd like to build a Windsor some day though, just to do something different...
Roller block windsor is on our to-do list someday also :D
yes sir! ive been doing some research and ive read that the fuel lines, brake lines, rear shocks, driveshaft, rear have to be changed to work with the 302 and T5, oh and of course pedal assembly and doing a little bit of cutting on where the shifter assembly goes in. i was pretty fortunate to buy the car so cheap, its pretty much going to be a car built from Craigslist parts lol a true. The biggie is the fuel lines, the rest will work/or can be used t get it running depending on what you're doing..........going carb? What year?
I say 7.35 based on last best time. I got to get back to work!
You? I'VE got to get back to work lol.................no rest for the wicked ;)
👍👍👍👍👍
the blues brother
Hey ... have you ever heard of H&H auto ?? They are in Alabama it’s a fox body salvage yard ... get a chance check them out on here ( you tube )
Yep.....ive seen at least one vid of theirs..sadly i'd be trying to get them all running rather than sell stuff lol
Lol no you mis understand me ... I asked if you knew of them in case you needed pats ... I really like your joy advenyures
Do you ever retard cam timing at the chain,to get the powerband to kick in sooner? You can always advance it at the distributor.
Sounds Mean💪💪
Just hope it runs mean lol.......
lol.
looks like rain is in the forecast for sunday😣
Yep.............:(
horrible form on those curls man. haha 🖒"curls for the girls"
I knew something was up, 'cause it aint working...Sweetie just laughs at me lol
1.55 60ft. 7.43 @93mph. throw some 110 octane in her & bump up timing 2-4 degrees. a bag or 2 of ice on the intake helps also..
We've always got the ice bag with us....if i had all the money i've spent on icing the intake over the years i could probably buy another mustang lol..........
I wish you were my neighbor!
I could use some ford neighbors :P.............and thanks for the view:)
7.29 @ 93 mph
what is the cam specs
We dont know, guy thought it was a B cam but we knew it wasnt based on caliper specs...we caliper checked it when we got home and came up with .490/.500 lift just like the seller...there's no markings that came up on goggle so our assumption is that its a pretty old grind...very common back in the day ('90's) for people to whip up cams for these things and there were a ton of people doing them due to the popularity of the 5.0...nowadays not so much.........
7.33 @ 92
No Friday track video?
It will be posted today sometime lol.....just busy busy :P
50tussin I hear ya man, My Procharger came earlier this week and I just got it fired up yesterday. I went with 3" Black Widow pro venom exhaust and it sounds nasty, gave me cold chills lol! My wheels, suspension and cobra taillights should be here by Monday or Tuesday, hoping to take it for a drive in the next week or so. It's gonna be a saucy little thing,Hahaha!!
Man! You're making some sick progress on that thing!
50tussin Yeah I've pretty much been on it full-time, we've only had 3 vehicles in the shop the past couple weeks and the guys have em under control so its given me plenty of time to get acquainted with my new toy, lol.
That thing is going to be a blast when its done....i'm all jelly over here :P
What about the heads
?......we installed our gt40's in the last videos...............and thanks for the view:)
The sound is similar to e cam
Glad you didnt say B-cam.....thats legend stuff man :O
7.43
drop the cam on the floor an watch it brake
Lol...........there's a funny story i have about a similar situation, your comment reminded me of it:)
6 ase tech's gave a thumbs down
They must be Master Techs 😬 lol
Facebook?
My sweetie spends enough time on there for both of us lol.........i dont get on there very often...........
TFS-51403001
We are thinking its older than that..............they've made a ton of grinds over the last 25+ years for these heaps...........
What do you know about the cam? I have access to a cam doctor that we could have run it on that would tell you exactly what it is.
7.36 @ 93
