Andy, can we do more of these, please? Looks like I'm not the only one who agrees that this format is fantastic. -Nik Bando
Yes! More coming
The Fried Egg has given me such an appreciation for wider fairways and strategy in golf design. Making angles and green complexes the primary defense of a golf course makes the course so much more enjoyable to play. I tend to be very wild off the tee sometimes, and I love holes like this one, where I can shoot at a fairway that’s 80 yards wide. It makes me feel like I always have a chance, even if not on the proper side of the fairway. This type of golf is more enjoyable for the average player like me, and also provides a challenge for the better players. You don’t need 25 yard wide fairways with 6 inch rough to make a course difficult.
Love the format! I would love to see you dissect some more famous holes like this!
Love this and the podcasts!!! Bravo boys.
Love these
So no one's gonna mention the fact that that one bunker is named "Devil's Asshole"?! I was wondering why this was shot on such a foggy day but I'm sure you guys wanted this course on purpose just to feature that bunker and this was the best day available to get the footage.
Remember, 80 yard fairways require more than double the maintenance costs. Water, fertilizer, mowing, aerifying, topdressing, irrigation pipes, heads, drainage all are more than double the normal cost of construction and maintenance. ⛳
