Can you please tell me why impact ionization will take place only at drain. As per us explanation impact ionization takes place by knockings out electron of a silicon atom which is present everywhere.
because in N-channel electrons are moving from Source to drain, as the speed of hot electrons is very high it will go and hit the other electrons in drain
Wrong concept of introducing tunneling. The electrons overcome the barrier due to very high kinetic energy but they do not tunnel. HCI is explained wrongly.
