Gina and Amanda were teenagers when they vanished, and had families who never stopped looking for them. They kept the public aware of their disappearances for a decade. Lily was already an adult when she went missing, and came from a fairly dysfunctional family that took some time to even notice she was gone.

@@billanthony7896 you seem passionate about this case, but what you said was what cynjm88 said. People were and still are upset at how forgotten she was, that even in her rescue, she wasn’t as “important” and “recognized through the rescue” in the way that the public felt she should have been. I mean, it is something that pulls at the heartstrings of people considering what she went through. They say she had the worst of it all. Imagine being told you will be killed if you don’t keep the baby alive of another captive woman and having the life of your baby stomped out of you. My heart breaks for them all, but hurts so much more for Michelle/Lilly. She was discarded in a way no one should ever be.

For all the people wondering about Lily Rose Lee, (aka Michelle Knight)... She's first mentioned at 3:22 into the newscast. The reason she was mentioned later, is because the other two women were locally famous as missing persons who were suddenly found. Lily didn't have a decade of news stories covering her disappearance. Thus, at the time the three women were rescued, Lily was virtually unknown to the general public.
That might seem extremely unfair, but that's how the news media operates. There was no malice intended. To put it in a bluntly crude, yet honest way, she was the least "newsworthy" of the three at the time of these broadcasts.

She gets mentioned for the first time at 3:22. You do realize the two younger women were locally famous missing persons. Thousands of flyers were made about them and distributed to the public. On the anniversaries of their disappearances, the news media would run stories about them. Lily was virtually unknown to the public at the time of the rescue. Thousands of flyers were never distributed on her behalf. No news stories ever came out on the anniversary of her disappearance. That's the reason she isn't mentioned until 3:22 of this broadcast. It's not like it's some plot to ignore her existence.

    And Michelle Knight!
    (Not even mentioned until 3:20)
Let's not forget Michelle Knight, people!
You know, the one whose family DIDN'T show up at the hospital when she was found! The one who had all of the nurses and orderlies comforting her in place of her relatives who failed to show up!
The one who was abducted FIRST, and treated the WORST!
She apparently doesn't even rate high enough for a mention until more than three minutes in to this "breaking News" broadcast. Sadly.
And this channel should be ASHAMED of this gross oversight forever. 👎

I'm still wondering about Jocelyn, the daughter of Castro and Amanda. Did she ever questioned Castro or Amanda about the miserable life of her mother, as she was always chained and not allowed to go out from that tiny room. From the interview of Amanda, she said that Jocelyn was aloud to roam around the house. Even Castro takes Jocelyn to hang out. Jocelyn was old enough to noticed all the suffers of her mother.

She was mentioned. In Cleveland, for a decade you seen Amanda and Ginas family everywhere. Posters, interviews, all that. You never heard of a Michelle knight. 10 years looking for those girls, you just assume they're dead. So yeah, the media covered Amanda and Gina first. That was the big story, the girls everyone knew in Cleveland were found alive, in Cleveland still. Once Michelles name came out into the media, shes had a ton of support from everyone. Shes married now and everything. She got her recognition too, but in Cleveland when you heard amanda and gina were found alive and together, it was the craziest thing ive ever heard of in Cleveland. Just unreal. Bless them all, glad they're all good and happy

You know watching this story what gets on my nerve is that they just cover Amand and Gina sooo much more than Michelle, look just because she was 20 when she went missing she is just as important as the other 2 ladies. I mean no disrespect to any of the women I choke up alot everytime I watch their story, I don't know maybe it is because I can agree with michelle I was only seen when I was getting beaten and was the punching bag also. I just think this news crew could of done a hell of alot better job covering this than they did.

thats due to her age and her own family sadly. ppl never really knew she was missing. if youre 20 and arent close with family they dont report you as missing. thats why the other 2 girls were "more known" and it appears cared about more. but ALOT of ppl do care about michelle, she has seen that since.

First of all, her name is now Lily. Say it over and over, Lily, Lily, LILY! Second, she isn't left out. She gets mentioned for the first time at 3:22. The reason she got mentioned last, is because at the time of this news broadcast, she was virtually unknown to the public. The two younger women were locally famous missing persons who were suddenly rescued, so of course they got the better share of the initial story.
