At 10:44 when you are talking about John Bloor you walk past 2 blokes chatting. The one with his back to the screen facing you looks suspiciously like Dick Shepherd, the guy who has hunted down and restored many of the bikes in the Triumph museum, including the Steve McQueen TR6. He loans the bikes to Triumph as far as I’m aware. Shame you didn’t get a chance to chat to him if it is. I went to the factory experience back in Feb 2020 and was taken around by a retired merchant banker (quite apt if you know your rhyming slang!). Spent the whole tour fall of jingoistic banter, how all bikes are assemble there even though some parts come in from abroad. 2 weeks later they announced all of their main manufacturing would be done in Thailand with the loss of numerous jobs in Hinckley. Hey ho. I’ve got a Meriden 1969 T100T Daytona and that didn’t end well for the workforce either.😉
Making triumph motorcycles seemed to be plagued by piss poor job security! Either the Germans bombed them out or they end up shutting up shop, having been made in at least 5 different factory locations in England and that's before cluttering of to the far east!!!
@@FreddieDobbs So many folks love to have a go at Triumph about Thailand production but they are definitely producing bikes at Hinckley and intend to ramp up production there. Definitely still a great British company and a big employer near me in Hinckley. I had the pleasure of being shown around the experience (there is an upstairs as well) by the owner of the collection Dick Shepherd. Dick is a great guy. Very knowledgeable and if you're interested he discusses all those bikes in detail in my vid which I've linked here. ruclips.net/video/F6KW_s-6f6k/видео.html
we met Dick Shepherd lovely man. shook his hand. he let my wife Linda and our son Chris sit on the Steve McQueen bike to have photos taken. we have them framed in our houses . we live 3 miles away, our son 6 miles away. we are very lucky to be able to visit the coffee shop at least once a week. staff are very welcoming.
Hi Freddie it proves that your efforts are allowing some reward,I have been lucky enough at 68 and been riding from 16 to have ridden triumphs and owned tridents bunny’s etc,I have had commandos and Japanese bikes, also BMWs which I toured lots of Europe and North Africa, but alas age and health take over down to a 350 bullet and a hunter now with max 150 mile rides, you now fill in the missing links both you and monika are a great team look forward to catching up on all your future antics,as been said before I think the way up is for you both Ted
Great content as always Freddie. I personally find Triumph peddling James Bond, Steve McQueen, special editions, heritage etc a little off putting. It smacks of toys for rich people and detracts from the fact that they are excellent machines.
Thank you so much for the inspiration... My partner owns a 1996 Thunderbird 900 and a 1998 Trident 900 (both made in Hinckley). Straight after watching your video I booked us tickets for his 50th Birthday in May! Thanks for the fantastic videos and thanks again for the Birthday adventure inspiration! xx
The Triumph with the huge rear mudguard was made for camping back in the day...the seat comes off easily and that rear mud guard can be used as a bath tub at your camping spot...most people would only use it one time a week on long rides and camp outs....wonderful accessory ...
Wow that's fantastic Freddie, well deserved your channel getting the recognition, looked like a great day. Always loved the look of the Speed twin, although yet to ride one. Cheers Freddie.
Fantastic Vlog as always. I actually live just over 10 miles from Hinckley, though I've never been to the Triumph factory, I spent 47 years in the motor industry working with cars, including Triumph. I'm not a motor cyclist myself, but might visit the Triumph factory now, keep up the great content.

Hi, well what can one say, you and Monic have hit the right spot some where on your journey and lets hope it continues to offer more great opportunities for you both in life . Well done and ride and stay safe .
Amazing! Great day Freddie! Looking forward to going myself . Got myself a ticket to see 1901 Triumph Prototype ridden in public for the first time in over 100 years! Taking place on the 12th of March. So excited 😆 Also the Founder (triumph Works) Siegfried Bettmann has is old house up the road from me. They turned them into apartments. Still up for sale. Hey Freddie the “old Triumph” you mention next to the new Speed Twin is, I imagine, the original 1938 Speed Twin. Love your work. Wish the factory was in Oz so I could have a coffee and sandwich after ring my new and exceptional Speed Twin into the car park! Cheers
Hi Freddie great to see another interesting vid especially with such bad news around , poor Monica got left out 🙁I was lucky enough to do the tour recently and also happened to see Guy Martin ….. yes a great day
What an awesome video Freddie or should I call you Mr Bond. That triumph is very nice , but big buck’s usually equal good quality. Hey life’s to short to ride a cheap bike. And that’s coming from a Harley guy, trust us we know. The factory museum was awesome. There’s nothing like a real deal pre unit triumph , so classic. Thank you for a view of England, it looks like a wonderful place. I hope to get there one day.
Looks like you had a fun day, I just love this edition. Collaborations and special editions are great. They are designed for people with a little extra money, nothing wrong with that. It also brings excitement to the brand and that’s exciting for people who just love the brand. I’d love to buy that.
Great to see this comment, Michael!🙂 I feel the same and completely agree 100% with you. What’s wrong with a little excess, whether it be a luxury watch, Ferrari, Harley Davidson, Gucci boots or special edition bikes. They’re not for the masses, but they’re meant to be- there’s something for everyone🙂👌🏻
Wow what an amazing scoop Freddie! I see John Hogan there, Motobob - all the big social media hitters, you must be part of the Triumph "A" list (and clearly I'm not :0( - Jealous, you bet!!!!) Nice one mate, well done you....PS Not sure the bike is worth the extra money mind you!! That said I see they're all sold out.....

Looked awesome Freddie, when I was there last summer we couldn’t go round the factory due to Covid so missed that bit but loved the museum and rode some Bonnies while there. Great experience centre and loved every minute. Well worth a visit to anyone 👍 very jealous re the helicopter 🚁 trip looked awesome 👏 see you soon I hope
Hiya Freddie. Shame you didn't visit completely motorcycle on the A5 le10 3el, when you visited. They have an amazing collection of bikes, and a couple of cars. Maybe in the near future.
Nice video Freddie 📹...nice experience!. For me personally I like to buy the basic bike and modify/fettle/paint it myself..so I have a limited edition of precisely one!!. The Speed Twin is a great looking bike...and I really like the Scrambler xe. Now if there was a way of fitting the classic looking clocks from the Speed Twin onto the Scrambler....!! Hope you and Monika are well. Cheers, Steve
Triumph seem to be the Kings of special editions which to be honest leaves me a bit cold but it was interesting seeing behind the scenes. Spotted MotoBob there. Others may well comment on the VFM but if the watch is worth £4,500 the bike should be about £100k, that’s where I’m coming from as I’ve never spent more than about £50 on a watch. And after watching this I certainly won’t be worrying about my green footprint, not that I care anyway ! Sorry if that sounds negative but it was as usual a great watch (er not that sort of watch) and as the factory is just down the road from me I might take a trip there. I hope Monika isn’t too worried about you know what although she probably is 🇺🇦
So true; I don’t know if there’s another bike brand that does special editions like Triumph. Great to get your thoughts on the watch/bike. Luxury watches are often slightly polarising so it’s interesting to see the thoughts if people🙂 Monika’s quite relaxed about it, but her family and some friends in Lithuania are genuinely very very scared (a few are borderline petrified!🇱🇹)
That was a fine joke Freddie 🤣!! Haha if only they would give those watches away..at least one, right? Awesome stuff thanks for the taking us around mate!
Hi Freddie, great video. I also like the way you try and get a few shots in as though from an onlooker. Anyway if my maths is correct there must be 271 of these bikes and not 270, seeing as you found the bike with 000 on it, lol.
Glad the big boys are recognising how “normal” people rave about your channel and inviting you to premium events. Its still a freddie vlog not a corporate humble pie. As for Triumph wanting £16k+ good luck to them, they used to be a bike for the people, now its for rich people. At that price you could have rwo very nice bikes
That’s very kind of you to say so, thank you🙂 The feedback on the special editions is really interesting- they are polarising and you do need deep pockets
I had a factory tour back in 2007 was a good experience and I even got a little 2007 factory tour badge. Bit stingy of them not to give you a Breitling watch though with inflation and all. The quality of your videos and enthusiasm for bikes is sure being noticed.
I liked the video a lot - it is more raw and gives you a real feeling that those social media "influencers" are just about giving us "super cool" content glimpses while you are really documenting. Its raw, its real, its honest -> thats why I like your content. Also you are not constantly checking your hair, beard, fit of your jacket and or trousers and have shoes on that you can actually use haha (just summarizing a lot of funny moments I saw in the background).
Freddie, seeing as you’ve inspired me to take motorbike lessons and take my test (hopefully this year?) can you do a video on the whole process, prices, tips, everything us newbies would need to know, along with any recommendations and tips of your own. A step by step guide for someone that knows nothing at the moment. Thanks in advance. Cole.
Hi! Only just started watching the channel in recent days. This video was awesome. I have a Triumph Street Triple on an 07 plate (one of the first) and love it. I would definitely like to do the tour. Keep up the great work 👍
I am imagining Freddie Dobbs as Triumph Evangelist. With perks of being able to travel world wide along with Monika as chief photographer promoting the brand. No need to wait 20 years for the expensive watch, your EXCITEMENT alone would justify it.
I have to agree with some of the others here. I don't see a commercial link with another consumer product as being at all influential. Triumph can keep the timex bike, the Rolex bike, the Nando's bike and the Digestive Biscuits bikes and stick to trying to make good products. It's a hell of a lot of extra money for nothing much at all.
Superb mate. I didnt get to go in chopper ya jammy git, my bro took me for the factory tour for my birthday. The breitling line looks great. Enjoy the factory lad 😁👍
Hi Freddie, I’ve been on a tour of the factory my partner Lisa bought the tickets as a Xmas pressie about 3 years ago,so interesting to see the bikes actually being assembled when I was there, looks like you had a great day, no Monika,?. Bet she would have loved it.
It’s a great experience- I was surprised at how hands on certain parts of the build process still are. I always love watching pin striping🤩 Just me for the day, hence it may not have been quite as polished a video as usual😆📹
As a Dane suffering with high taxes this leaves me stone cold... All this excess why not just build the bikes a well as possibly and sell them at prices people can afford
Well Freddie apart from you are doing a great job making these entertaining videos to watch nice one when you were in Tenerife you made a video with the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Chrome I thought it look fantastic I had a look at one in Blackburn at the weekend so next weekend I pick it up keep up the great work PS I get divorced next week when I pick my bike up that's what she said now only joking..barrie keegan
I appreciate the upgraded rear suspension but the restyled gauges, the seat and the Breitling branding is a little too goofy for me. Too bad Triumph didn't just do an "RS" version of the bike. I think that would have a much broader appeal and maybe more mechanical upgrades for the same price bump. Not sure if Triumph had to pay for that branding but if they did it isn't money well spent.
Beautiful looking watch, though surely with regard the bike they missed a trick….. if it’s a Breitling collaboration, then surely they could have made the speedometer and rev counters on the bike look like a Breitling watch, now that would have been something special.
Steve McQueen rode as prisoner and guard chasing him on the chase scene in Great Escape...his stunt buddy Bud did the fence jump...I had a 77 Bonnie rode her all over the USA...kick start only ...tricksters would flip the kill switch off when your gone then watch for fun...because it would be...turn the fuel on...tickle the carbs...turn the key on get her in neutral...one never used the kill switch so you would not check it...just start kicking....she should go first kick....

Fantastic little insight- I wish I’d have known about Dick Shepherd!
Thanks for this, Kevin🙂
In a globalised world it's either transfer some manufacturing to a low wage economy or lose ALL the jobs. It's an unpleasant reality.
Making triumph motorcycles seemed to be plagued by piss poor job security! Either the Germans bombed them out or they end up shutting up shop, having been made in at least 5 different factory locations in England and that's before cluttering of to the far east!!!

Did you notice the passing resemblence to the Mutt RS13-250
Dreambike, Dreamlocation😎
I am imagining Freddie Dobbs as Triumph Evangelist. With perks of being able to travel world wide along with Monika as chief photographer promoting the brand. No need to wait 20 years for the expensive watch, your EXCITEMENT alone would justify it.
I love this!😀 Really appreciate it!
WOW, great day, question? would you buy one?, looks a cool bike
Hello Freddie, can you please do a review on a 2022 speed twin ?
Great content Freddie BUT... The backing music? Oriental music is the sound of Triumph's nemesis.
Appreciate it, Paul!😆🚁🙌🏻 It’s a brilliant experience seeing the factory- I absolutely loved it!
This is so great for you Freddie ! So how long did it take you to say yes? 0.01 seconds?
You’re spot on!😆
Nice one Freddie....
Royal Enfield seems to have done triumphs styling
Great video keep it up with good work bro.
Hi Freddie, I’ve been on a tour of the factory my partner Lisa bought the tickets as a Xmas pressie about 3 years ago,so interesting to see the bikes actually being assembled when I was there, looks like you had a great day, no Monika,?. Bet she would have loved it.
I saw no space in that chopper but I do believe these companies need 2 account for Monica when they have this stuff.
It’s a great experience- I was surprised at how hands on certain parts of the build process still are. I always love watching pin striping🤩
Just me for the day, hence it may not have been quite as polished a video as usual😆📹
Nice!
As a Dane suffering with high taxes this leaves me stone cold... All this excess why not just build the bikes a well as possibly and sell them at prices people can afford
Right on. This rubbish actively discourages me from buying a bike from a manufacturer that arranges it. Image conscious muppets only.
Always nice to watch millionaire hipsters so that I know what fashion trends to avoid. Great content and presentation as always Freddie.
the red one was nicknamed the bathtub.
100% I can see why!😆 I do like it in a strange way. I’ve never seen a bike like it!
Nice one 👍
Freddie you're looking very Handsome on 🏍️ Triumph Motorcycle⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🇮🇳👍🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
That’s very kind of you to say so!
Ridiculous! They did not invite Monica!! ;)
