Welcome to Taste of Texas, one of the biggest and busiest steakhouses in the United States! Today we’ll be getting a behind the scene look into how they serve over 1000 steak a day to thousands of happy customers and why this steakhouse is so legendary!
I’m hanging out with my friend Steven and Christina from Houston’s Got Spice: / houstonsgotspice
Opened since 1977, by the amazing Edd and Nina Hendee, Taste of Texas is an American food institution, and it’s more than just a steakhouse, it’s also a museum of Texas history. Today they are the largest independent user of Certified Angus Beef in the world.
We couldn’t decide which steak to order so we got the 38 oz. dino Texas tomahawk and a giant fillet wrapped in bacon.
Additionally, Taste of Texas is famous for their traditional American style salad bar which is one of the best salad bars you’ll ever try.
And don’t forget their Texas sized desserts, the snickers pie was absolutely delicious.
Shout out to Austin, our server, who did an incredible job!

I was an expat living in Houston for 2 years, as a good bye to Texas I went to The Taste of Texas for a last supper. I probably ate 4K calories that night and spent like $150; it was only me and a perfectly cooked Tomahawk. Miss y’all.❤

Austin took care of us on one of our many trips! He's a great waiter and very informative. I usually just salt and pepper my steak, but he recommended lemon pepper. Seemed weird at first but it really adds the perfect touch. We're hooked on Taste of Texas. Literally the only place we go for steak unless we're grilling ourselves. Welcome to Houston, Mark!

This place really is top shelf. I've eaten here dozens of times. It's always been really good. Kinda pricey, but here you get what you pay for. I would suggest this place to anyone.

That’s the most criminally uneven seasoning job on the tomahawk I’ve ever seen
