    All e-mini future traders should know the key dividend reinvestment dates for big S&P 500 index funds. On 28jun2021 and 28sep2021, two of the biggest S&P 500 index funds, Vanguard VFIAX (222.4 Billion) and TSP C fund(251.5 Billion) automatically reinvest the quarterly dividends for their fund holders. This means a combined 1.77 Billion of shares being bought on these days, a huge upward pressure. Vanguard publishes their VFIAX dividend reinvestment date but TSP does not publish their C fund dividend reinvestment date. However, C funds share prices reflect that their dividend reinvestment matches the VFIAX dividend reinvestment dates.

    Thank you. Thumb's up. Questions pls: 1. Why did you place a (SELL LIMIT) order? Why not - since you're long - continue to increase/raise your (SELL STOP), as the price increased? This way, you're not limiting yourself with the gain...as the gain may have been much more, had you allowed the (SELL STOP) to end your trade, instead of the (SELL LIMIT) to end your trade? 2. Was this from THINK OR SWIM (TD Ameritrade)...although I'd heard you say "GORILLA TRADING"? Thank you again.

    Is it better to trade MES or SPY for a small account? I know futures in the long term is more beneficial for tax. Do you need a margin account to trade MES?

    • @GorillaFutures

    nice trade but imo would’ve waited to see the test of the low again followed by a strong bull bar. That would’ve given you about another 4 points or so if you had timed your entry better, along with a tighter stop loss. Possible I could’ve missed the trade if we didn’t get all the way back to the low but I think it would’ve been a better entry with more room for profit and less risk.

      Heather good question, our price action system can be used on any time frame. For me the 1 min chart is to fast so when I look at time based charts I use the 5 min. Great trade! So basically micro follows exactly the same to the minis, does it mean what we see in the volume and DOM in the micros doesn’t really matter for the analysis of the trade? For instance when using volume/market profile, I guess I should use them only on the minis as the volume on the micros does not really matter. Cheers!

    • @GorillaFutures
      @GorillaFutures  3 года назад +1

      Good question! They follow each other usually exactly the same at times there can be a tick or two difference but that is rare. What I tell people is they normally have the exact same price but how they get to that price can be a little different. For example at times on the ES we will see a 2 legged p/b and on the MES we could see a simple pull back. If you are trading the MES then I'd only look at MES vol/profile if I was trading that way.

      @@GorillaFutures Thanks for the quick response! Maybe you can also clarify to me something quite related with how price moves in the futures market, ES is the perfect example. As I understand Futures markets are totally independent from the cash markets, so if that is the case, then S&P index moves according to what the companies that belong to the index do, so for ES futures market, that one moves ONLY due to the contracts traded on that market. Then I do not totally understand how those two independent markets (futures and chas) move so similar, if at the end one is moved because of the stocks, and another one because the futures traders. How can that be explained? I would appreciate your answers, as I can see you have a lot of experience with futures markets. Thanks mate! Cheers

    • @GorillaFutures
      @GorillaFutures  3 года назад

      @@ecrirey Any time, the ES and S&P 500 are basically the same. The Mini ( ES ) is simply a cheaper version on the S&P futures we use to trade full size S&P 500 futures contracts but now its the Mini we trade and the Micros. They are all correlated and move very similar. So the S&P tracks the stocks in the S&P and the ES/MES track the underlying asset. Also if you are trading the spot market via FX or anything like that then you price could be different depending on your broker as anything FX related is not done through a central exchange like futures. Hope that helps.

      @ecrirey 3 года назад +1

      @@GorillaFutures amazing! thanks for that. As a final question, then it is correct to think that even though those three markets move quite similar (full, mini, and micro), if all the traders in the world go to trade the ES, and they sell the market taking all the limit buy orders, then we should definitely see the market going down and the others just going somewhere else, right? As I said, it is a bit confusing to me, to see and understand that independent markets move so similar, it is almost like: the traders open and close their positions at the very same time on those three markets (and for the full contract, that would be so strange, as they would need to trade on the stocks that belong to the index). But maybe the power of some is so huge that they can actually do that (= thanks again mate! I hope this last question is clear so I can receive your valuable answer. Cheers!

    @Gorilla Futures, can you speak to your experience on stop loss, your trade is so orderly, I'm trading with TD and they are eating me alive, I would love o tell you the stop orders are preserving my capital, but their retail programmers picking me off like a good train sniper, I feel I am just helping their bottom line in commission while they take out my stop orders . .

    • @inclair8610
      @inclair8610 2 года назад

      one more thing.....even if i place the stop order 4, 5 ticks away....the sniper finds me and eats my dinner. even when I am going with the trend ..I would love to hear others' honest takes!

    I'm confused. I watched your Video and thought "all that for a $9 gain or what?" and suddenly your win was 300 dollars. Sorry, i'm really new to trading

    • @GorillaFutures
      @GorillaFutures  2 года назад +1

      No need to apologize! We all started some where, so first of all this was on the ES or E-Mini S&P 500, on the ES there are 4 ticks in 1 point, a tick is simply the smallest amount of movement price can make. Each tick is also worth $12.50, that means that a point or 4 ticks is worth $50. The majority of futures accounts are margin accounts, now depending on volatlity the broker can raise the required amount needed. These quotes are per one contract, so to trade 1 ES contract you would need to keep a balance of $500. If while you are in the trade you balance goes below $500, you run the risk of getting a margin call. Hope that helps, check out our free course for some more info. Also if there is anything feel free to shoot us an email or simply reply to this. www.gorillafutures.com/free

    I was looking for a video on how to manage my daily profit or loss in the micros. I don't think this is good money management for small accounts. Was that a 300% profit. Also understanding percentage is important to. I only been trading for about year with real money and newbies better leaner how to take a hit with real money! Trying to learn daily percentage profit lose. I think I'm expecting to much per day and over trade.

    I have lost $753 since I first started with a $400 deposit on 1/26 with NinjaTrader.
    I can't seem to ever find an entry or exit. I then bought software that gives me indicators, and 90% of the time it sets me up for loss.
    I wish I'd spent $800 on lotto tickets instead.
