I know it's been a year but I am seeing this for the first time I just purchased a FoodSaver for the first time thank you for your very very very thorough instructional video you have answered a lot of my questions and save me a lot of time I look forward so much to using it very soon thank you for sharing
Like you I just purchased my first ever FoodSaver Today😃. Haven’t even taken it out the box yet. Found her video very informative. Looking forward to taking this baby for a test drive soon. I have sooo much food to seal. I can hardly wait😂😂🤣.

I just opened my food saver and said I have a masters degree and can’t figure this out. So I found your video! Thank you for all your help. And I also enjoyed all your PC products. I was a consultant for 2 years and have all your ‘stuff’ too! Good job!
The main reason for buying a Food Saver is to be able to buy in bulk, repackage into single use packages (depending on the size of your family) and have the food last in perfect condition in the freezer for years. Your cheese block could easily have been cut into 3 or 4 smaller blocks and vacuumed. Lasts forever in the fridge. Big bags of chicken parts, beef steaks, lamb chops, stew, burger and sausage cuts/grinds can all be repackaged from bulk and then used as neccessary. Invaluable tool. The uses are endless.
Question,do we have to seperate meats individually or can we vacuum seal a few together? I cook everyday and we are 6 and I do but in bulk and always use ziplock bags but these days am really want to buy more and freeze long term.
@@raqueldominguez6133 if you buy in bulk and have the freezer storage you should package meats in the sizes that you would cook for your family or whole, like a rack of ribs, a whole salmon or side of salmon, whole chickens, whole pork cuts, lamb cuts, etc. I like to pack chops and steaks individually but of course you don't have to. Things like chicken wings I package by the bag, maybe a dozen or so in each bag. Chicken parts like legs, thighs, breasts, package them in multiples that you would feel ok with cooking at one time. I buy beef, lamb and goat stew in bulk and package it individual bags of a pound or two. Again, whatever size suits your family if you were cooking a stew or a curry. You can buy mega packs of hot dogs and break them down into smaller packs. Buy hamburger in bulk and make 2lb packs. I always find that you will get the best results from vacuum packing if you freeze whatever you are packing first. I lay everything out on a sheet tray in one layer and freeze. Works well and the food keeps its shape much better. Vacuum pack in one layer too so that your packs are thin and stack better in your freezer. I remove product from the vacuum bags before defrosting for the same reason of keeping it's shape. Also don't be afraid that you are not putting enough product in your bags. It's better to have smaller bags than bigger bags because if you need to cook more you can use 2 bags instead of one. Of course you can also take out the quantity you want to cook and then reseal your bag if the quantity in the bag is too much. Just think of your needs and do your thing. There really is no right or wrong.
@@raqueldominguez6133 vacuum sealing will keep your meats frozen , in perfect condition, for years longer than a ziploc. You are so funny and adorable I could have seriously watched you talk about the food saver for an hour long. Immediately after watching you I cleaned the cob webs off my machine and started packing my food again. Thanks for the inspiration and yes I got excited over the avocado’s too
I JUST got one of these and my journey starting this was exactly the same as yours. First bag, little too small, didn't get a good seal. Totally didn't notice the resealing zip top bags. As well as not realizing the lid had a lock if you go all the way up. But sealed cheese in them right away. Also it seems with the build-a-bag style as I call them. It's good to leave a lot of extra, because you cut, then wash, and re-seal if you want to reuse it.
FS has a video on what not to seal. Soft cheese being one of them.. I heard wrapping hard cheese in foil first helps, but haven't tried it. My sealer isn't working well.
You are ADORABLE! I so enjoyed your video, and felt encouraged that you made ALL of the same errors as I did, including not finding the helpful owner's manual inside with the bags until the next day! You gave me some great tips and ideas. Thank you!
Both myself and my wife loved the fact that you didn't take out any of the "bloopers" or things you didn't expect out of the final. We enjoyed your review & we cannot wait to get into it with the food saver adventure. Keep on Cookin' sister.
Thank You. Thank You. Thank You. After watching your video I tried out my Food Saver one more time! I was ready to pack it up and take it back to the store and get my money back for it. I have watch several other videos and no one explained and showed how to use the Food Saver like you did. I had half of a can of tomatoes in the frig and tried it out and it worked!!! No where on that sheet or manual tells you to put the open or top of bag in that green thing. I really like the way you explain things.
I have a food saver unit. The first thing i put in it were fresh peaches. Even on the moist mode is sucked liquid into it. I tried cleaning it several times. To get the best result I have found that keeping a slight pressure on the lid helps. In addition I found it does not automatically vacuum and switch to the seal mode. So i watch and when the air is out of the bag I press the seal button. Keeping some pressure on the lid while sealing seems to help if you have a small wrinkle and it still seals.
I would like to ditto everything Sandi White said in her comment - totally a breath of fresh air, and informative, too! I've been looking to purchase a foodsaver and just bought one today. I think I might exchange it for this model so the plastic roll has inside storage. I also bought the attachments for jars; I began dry canning last fall. Thank you for the video!
@11:28 - You still can use the roll. All you have to do is make the bag larger than the item. This way you cut the bag open, use some of the product, put the item back in the bag and reseal the original bag.
I bought a foodsaver. And a LOT of bags. I pulled it out to put bluebderries back in the freezer. I tried and tried. I finally got about 1/4 c sealed. Worked 3 times with very small amounts. Wrecked 4 bags trying to do half c. No. Would not. Just sealed and half cut. I am furious. I read the manual. Mine didn't come in the box. Read online . I ended up measuring my defrosted blueberries in ziplock bags and back in the freezer. Your video was great, informative .
My whole family has one of these each. We use it for our smoked bacon, all of our hunting meats, fish, chicken, absolutely everything. Thanks for this video. It’s a great way to save and reuse
Gypsy, do you do your own bacon? I'd be curious as to your process if you do! Find me on FB and msg me to connect! I'd love to know how you make your pork belly into bacon... it's on my "list" ;)
Wow! I agree with the others. You are so lovable. I just got my FoodSaver. I used one of those pre-made bags and put my block of Pepper Jack cheese in it and was so excited to see the vacuum thingy do its stuff! I’ve rediscovered my kitchen and am having fun too.
I love this lady’s video! She has a good sense of humor and I was exactly the same way the first time I used my vacuum sealer for meats trying to find things that I could use on the vacuum sealer.
Take a vault up and now buy a circulator, so that after you season and vacuum your roast, you can "sous vide" the meat then caramelize it when it is done. My favorite 'new' toys...the Anovo sous vide and the 6 qt Insta Pot. I've been using a Food Saver for quite a few years and couldn't live without it. BTW talk about saving money! Buy, for example a whole pork loin, and cut it however you want...roasts, dinner chops, breakfast chops and the trimming from the ends for stir fry. I've lost some in the freezer a couple times (like 3 yrs.) and it cooked up just fine. I know that FS says 5 times longer, but I'll challenge that. Enjoyed your video.
Your video is perfect! Your presentation is so real and spontaneous and sincere! My Mom had a Seal A Meal 65 Years ago I believe and I have wanted one for years! Finally got one but was sad my Mom is not here to help me - but you are right on! Thank you! You have convinced me I can do this!
I always try to do this with my roasts. After I buy them, I season them and vacuum pack them for storage. Then, I cook them Sous Vide. I guarantee the best Roast or steak you have ever eaten. Thank You for your video.
I have used my FoodSaver for years but never for a rub. I see chef's do this kind of thing on TV so makes sense. I like to vacuum my dried fruit and jerky. I have never had freezer burn on anything I seal up. Mine is so old it has "canisters" that will vacuum and I use for storing coffee.
I hope after 3 years you have learned how to use your FoodSaver. There are some helpful articles, recipes, and videos on their website. Also, if you have a "short-ish" sized bag and you need to marinate something with liquid, you may fold up a sheet(s) of paper towel and put across the opening of the bag above the seal line. The paper towel will absorb the marinade.
Very useful video! Thanks I was having trouble with my unit, and didn't understand you had to put the open bag end into the tray! Thanks you really helped me!
Really great tutorial. Very helpful. I appreciate you going through step-by-step, explaining each step completely with a clear visual point of view. Thank you!!!
I found this video after purchasing a FoodSaver vacuum sealer - looking for tips. I'm so glad I did - I tried the Pig Tickle Seasoning on a pork tenderlion and thought it was excellent. I'm looking forward to using it on chicken. Thank you again.
It is July 10, 2022 and about 2 months ago I bought the PowerXL Duo Sealer which was advertised on tv. I loved the idea and watching the video was very positive until I got it. The sealer/vacumn barely worked...the rest of the process was perfect but it sealed and vacumned when it wanted to. I spend about a week playing with it and finally sent it back. I believe I had a defective unit and told their customer service I'd send it back and re-order but they told me to just return it and they would refund me and were not supportive of my getting another one. That was a BIG flag telling me they were having lots of problems with it. They also sent 2 rolls of bags and said they were a years worth but I have a cake business too and using it for businss and home I could tell it wasn't enough. When I first got it I called to order more rolls and was told they were out. Now I'm searching for another that does similar things and perhaps this is it.
Went to Costco today (Southern Ontario, Canada) and lo and behold, it was finally on sale, so I bought one. I have not used it yet as I wanted to see how well it worked first. I love the demo, so I will be wrapping it up for Christmas. Merry Christmas to me, lol. It seems to work so well, I’ll be keeping it.
i go to Gordens Food Services and can buy deli sized bricks of cheese for 16.00 versus buying it for 5.99 a pound sliced. i used a slicer to slice it myself and vacume seal them in bags. i also pork loins slice them into chops and vacume seal and seal. which saves money.
Just bought a Costco Foodsaver like what you are using. Loved your entertaining personality and informative video, especially with even some small mistakes that make your video so helpful.
I love this lady, because I just purchased my 1st FoodSaver and I’m going to probably do what she did, cut a bag too small and a mistake here and there. I give her a 👍 I share her enthusiasm on using the FoodSaver.
You were so helpful. Been wanting one of these food saver storage things just been comparing different brands. Didn't want to spend an arm and a leg but wanted something to do the job especially for storing food in my freezer as to be able to store my food better. Thank you
Marinating is with liquids not just rubbed spices. And the sealing opens up the meat and let's the liquid go in and cause Marinating. Also containers for food saver for Marinating works wonderful.
Whoever 'they' are ... 🤣😂 You're cracking me up & I adore the way you don't try to cover up mistakes, you just roll with them. I loved the look on your face when you realized the lid stayed up. That would have been my face. 🙄 😂 You are so darned entertaining I wish you lived in my town. Delightful!
Fantastic review, I bought one of these yesterday and I agree it is endlessly useful. The one thing though for me and I think you as well.... Is I haven't a budget for it on the bench (space) and having to lift it in and out of the cupboard every time to fully utilize it, is going to get annoying. Food for thought.
I have had a foodsaver for 7 years and saved a lot of money over the years, and my food last longer, cut the cheese and other items into smaller blocks if u want liquids freeze them first then vacuum them, the small bags with sealers on them don’t last that long.
I too have noticed that. I wish those bags would last longer! They are almost ALMOST one use (meaning just cheese until the cheese is gone, then toss). It's a bummer.
Just bought my first food saver! We are new empty nesters as the kids are all in college now. I’m having to adjust my cooking amounts for only two people. The food saver will come in handy to store half the package of frozen green beans and extra chicken breasts! I came across some freezer burned Christmas cookie dough today.(it’s May). Next year I’ll vacuum seal my extra dough so we can have Christmas in July!
Def sous vide! It's totally changed my steak game! I'm spoiled now for eating out... I just don't do it because I can get a perfect steak every time now!
Loved your video. The printed instructions didn’t have enough info to make me feel comfortable using the machine for the first time. Going to try ground beef right now! Thank you!
Let me know if you ever do a part 2 to show how to use the mason jar sealer attachment. That saves on plastic waste. Also interested to know if my most often wasted foods can be preserved longer with either small mason jar or plastic bag methods, primarily fresh cilantro, basil, mint, green onions, baby lettuce mix, as well as liquids like milk, heavy cream and yogurt.
I got some of the same questions from my other single friends. Why would I spend nearly $200 to save a few bucks? First and easiest answer is freezer burn. Second is that single people can't use the quantities of most ingredients they have to buy in order to cook regularly. I throw out almost a whole head of lettuce, half a tomato and half a pack of buns every time i decide I wanna cook a couple of burgers. I throw out more ingredients, more freezer burned leftovers, more old vegetables, breads and herbs than I'm comfortable admitting using my real name. Vacuum sealers aren't just for families; single people probably get more value and better meals using vacuum sealer than eating at Taco Bell four times a week, but they gotta stop looking at it like it's a $200 lunchmeat saver.
@@trudiecreed6315 Yes. It's easier to manage dry items cut into simple shapes (like apples, diced or slices vegetables etc) than it is to manage just about anything else with a vac sealer. Don't do whole apples but cut apples are fine, put some lemon juice on the slices. Some vegetables don't work well, aromatics (garlic and onions) and cabbage/lettuce because of whatever science-y gasses they release. Mushrooms and bananas, soft cheeses.....Food Saver comes with a list of 'don't seal these things' but it's a pretty short list.
A foodsaver has been on my wish list for YEARS. Looks like I might have to bite the bullet and buy one. I’m pretty sick of buying meat when it’s on sale and then down the road reaching into the freezer for it only to find it freezer-burned. BLECH 🤢
A tip : when you vacuum seal steaks , do it on moist setting not dry. The dry setting would make the machine suck all the air out and ,because it is so strong it will pull the juices out of the steak. The moist setting stops the vacuum process just in time. Also you have to use special bags where on side is perforated and one smooth , regular bags won’t work as both sides are smooth.
Thank you for the best instructions on the use of my 2 day old foodsaver. I like you didn't find the instructions and thought how stupid, no instructions. Found them the next day among the supplied bags. So far so good.
I love my foodsaver I use it for everything an have lots of the attachments lol maybe my best kitchen appliance definitely keeps the food for a lot longer.
Thank you for your very informative video. I have one I purchased a couple of years ago and didn't use it much but after watching your video, I will definately give it another try.😀
This is really cool ..im watching ur video trying to learn how to use mine again ..its been a really long time since i used my food saver ..i really want to use it again and u video helped me and .y wife thanks ...love ur spunkyness and ur jokes lol
I just bought my Vacuum seal and started using it this afternoon. I fell in love! I had frozen bananas, mangoes, strawberries, blueberries etc. in Ziploc bags and Tupperware containers. It was very easy to use the vacuum sealed bag since my fruit was already frozen. Unfrozen chicken breasts didn’t feel like the air was completely out of the bag, but I’ll know tomorrow. It’s actually fun to use. Bed, Bath and Beyond had the one I bought incorrectly priced, (the store stood by their pricing) so I really got a good bargain. Theirs is a bit more expensive than others I could’ve gotten on Amazon , but I wanted to start using it N0W so I went to the store. Mainly, I will use this to freeze mangoes, since I have a tree in my yard, and they are heavenly delicious. I didn’t see the model number of the machine you are using, but mine looks the same. Good luck and thanks for making the video.
After watching your video I'm going to try my new food saver (finally) your advice (no wrinkles!) and your attitude. We eat a lot of avocados so I'm right there with your avo excitement. No more avocados in the compost! I am rejoicing.
Works great. My only thing, no way to do anythig much smaller than the bags that come with it. Be nice to have a bag half the smaller one but then sealing might be a problem.
I just found you today. I bought my Food Saver about 3 weeks ago and used it for the first time last weekend … I laughed at your giddiness because I did the same thing! It IS so much fun!
Loved this! Loved the enthusiasm!!! Subbed!!! I just got mine right now and the learning curve you showed is spot on!! Nothing cut all errors shown and great!!
Heather, thank you! Helped me greatly in making my decision for the next vacuum sealer. Going to subscribe as well. Exceptionally well done, not to mention fun.
Love my food saver, I buy meat in bulk at sams and Costco, never have any freezer burn. I'm not sure as I haven't opened them how well it worked but I vacuum sealed some old family photos, lol.
I made the previous comment before I finished watching your video, and I so appreciate you using the handheld suction part. That was a feature I didn’t think I’d ever use until you showed us how it works. I haven’t gone through the bags that came in my package, so I’m really looking forward to doing a different kind of packaging. Thank you so much. In the background at your house, there is a sound of whistling which, after a while, it’s annoying. FYI. Thanks again, seems like you’ve covered everything
I enjoyed this. I am off to the store to buy some ground beef on sale as well as avocados. I have been afraid to use my machine, but I am going to give it a whirl today. I enjoyed this video and your enthusiasm.
Heidi, I love my FoodSaver so much, I made room on my counter for it. LOL If you check any of my recent videos... look to the right of the video on my counter, you'll see my FoodSaver ;) It's a larger machine then in this video (I did upgrade for soup reasons), but it works the same (Just gives me more room to seal up soups without spilling).

I love this lady’s video! She has a good sense of humor and I was exactly the same way the first time I used my vacuum sealer for meats trying to find things that I could use on the vacuum sealer.
The accessory sealer and ziplock bags are GREAT for veggies. I can keep head lettuce for weeks --no browning!
Oh really??? I will try that!
I did! It's fantastic! I've done quite a few adventures with it. Steak in the SV is a game changer!! :) I have the Anova too! :)
Thank you - I just purchased this FoodSaver vs3180 yesterday and I love it.
You can do it! I am using mine for everything! It's so handy!
I have been wanting a sealer forever. Now, I just might have to get one!
I have not used mine yet but look forward to watching you again on all the things you seal. Thank you!!! 💙
I just purchased the same machine and love it now I can seal my open potato chip bags without using clips now. I am saving so much money.
This version I have can be used with the canisters... I'm actually thinking about getting one for my brown sugar! No more hard crystals... maybe?
I have had a food sever for more then 12 years and still love it, I enjoyed your video. Thank you!!
Which model do you have ? Can you please share
I'm so glad! :)
What a great demonstration of the features on the food saver and different things you can do with it. Thanks so much
i go to Gordens Food Services and can buy deli sized bricks of cheese for 16.00 versus buying it for 5.99 a pound sliced. i used a slicer to slice it myself and vacume seal them in bags. i also pork loins slice them into chops and vacume seal and seal. which saves money.
Just bought a Costco Foodsaver like what you are using. Loved your entertaining personality and informative video, especially with even some small mistakes that make your video so helpful.
Thank you so much! I bought a Food Saver & couldn't get it to work correctly. You straighten me out with your clear instructions!
I love this lady, because I just purchased my 1st FoodSaver and I’m going to probably do what she did, cut a bag too small and a mistake here and there. I give her a 👍 I share her enthusiasm on using the FoodSaver.
Barbara, your my favorite ;)
Thanks for sharing. I’m excited to try to use my newly bought food saver from Costco today 12/30/2023. I can try to seal and vacuum a cooked food.
This guide helped me learn that there’s a manual wrapped up in the extra bags
LOL Well I'm glad it was good for something ;)
You were so helpful. Been wanting one of these food saver storage things just been comparing different brands. Didn't want to spend an arm and a leg but wanted something to do the job especially for storing food in my freezer as to be able to store my food better. Thank you
You're welcome Brenda!
Marinating is with liquids not just rubbed spices. And the sealing opens up the meat and let's the liquid go in and cause Marinating. Also containers for food saver for Marinating works wonderful.
I wondered if the containers would work as well... thanks!
Love watching you! I use this for everything. Any bag cookies, chips, rice beans etc. It's a great investment for saving food.
Whoever 'they' are ... 🤣😂
You're cracking me up & I adore the way you don't try to cover up mistakes, you just roll with them. I loved the look on your face when you realized the lid stayed up. That would have been my face. 🙄 😂
You are so darned entertaining I wish you lived in my town.
I have had this for years. I love it!
The instructions are in with the bags that come with the machine. The short operating sheet is the first thing you see.
I love the cheese sealing portion! I hadn’t even thought about using it to seal cheese!
Only vacuum seal hard cheese. Do not vacuum seal soft cheese.
Perfect on how to do! I’ll be using my new food saver for sure. 🤗
Just bought one today from Costco today and I'm just as excited as u are in this video. Been soo cool to use it.
Which model did you end up with? I am going to update on my journey soon!
@@AdventuresinEverydayCooking exact one as yours. I learned a few things from your video. That acacado hack.....awesome!
I am with you. I’ve tried all kinds of ways to keep an avocado from turning brown. Nothing really worked for long. Now I know. Thank you.
Just a little tip, you might want to score the fat on your roast after seasoning and before vacuuming 👍
Thank you!! Does this help pull the flavors into the meat better?
I have had a foodsaver for 7 years and saved a lot of money over the years, and my food last longer, cut the cheese and other items into smaller blocks if u want liquids freeze them first then vacuum them, the small bags with sealers on them don’t last that long.
I too have noticed that. I wish those bags would last longer! They are almost ALMOST one use (meaning just cheese until the cheese is gone, then toss). It's a bummer.
I'm so glad you shared this video. Thank you.
Next year I’ll vacuum seal my extra dough so we can have Christmas in July!
the reason that the vacuumed one is more flavored is probably because vacuum help the meat to suck the spaces in.
Ive just learned A LOT!! You crack me up, you've got my sense of humor! Thank you... my first FoodSaver should be here in 2 or 3 days...
I use mine all the time , I also have the mason jar attachments to store dehydrated items
Ps , your hilarious
Ohhhh??? Do tell... I may have to go google that up!
Amazon. Search food saver jar sealer. It is a set of two for regular and wide mouth jars plus the connector hose for canister mode. HTH
Does this model work with the canning attachment for jars? I can’t figure it out
Just bought one from our local flea market. I’m in 🇨🇦 excited to not throw out food and use it meal prep. Also hoping to Sous Verde too.
Thank you!
Awesome! :)
Just got ours today and learned a lot from your video especially the door that doesn’t, I mean stays up!!
I love this comment! I need to find a way to pin it!! :)
Can you use it to seal raw vegetables such as bell peppers/celery/cut apples/
@@trudiecreed6315 Yes. It's easier to manage dry items cut into simple shapes (like apples, diced or slices vegetables etc) than it is to manage just about anything else with a vac sealer. Don't do whole apples but cut apples are fine, put some lemon juice on the slices. Some vegetables don't work well, aromatics (garlic and onions) and cabbage/lettuce because of whatever science-y gasses they release. Mushrooms and bananas, soft cheeses.....Food Saver comes with a list of 'don't seal these things' but it's a pretty short list.
You're too cute! Too funny! I just got one. My brother has one. They use it for everything. They do, do their bread and freeze it.
Yes! I use mine to put my sourdough loaves in the freezer!! It's a game changer!
A foodsaver has been on my wish list for YEARS. Looks like I might have to bite the bullet and buy one. I’m pretty sick of buying meat when it’s on sale and then down the road reaching into the freezer for it only to find it freezer-burned. BLECH 🤢
Yes! It's such a bummer when that happens! Ugh ugh ugh! Santa should buy you one this year!!
Thank you! :)
I don’t understand the last part of your tip. Use special bags……regular bags won’t work. Won’t work on what?
Thank you for the best instructions on the use of my 2 day old foodsaver. I like you didn't find the instructions and thought how stupid, no instructions. Found them the next day among the supplied bags. So far so good.
Haha. I'm so glad I was not alone... ;) Hope you love yours as much as I do! :)
I just was able too get one from work. I'm like Lou amazed and now thinking how I can use in pressure cooker and souvue
Definitely try it! I really do love it!!!
This is really cool ..im watching ur video trying to learn how to use mine again ..its been a really long time since i used my food saver ..i really want to use it again and u video helped me and .y wife thanks ...love ur spunkyness and ur jokes lol
I love you, and your channel. You are so much like me. I kept telling my husband "she's just like me". So happy to have found you!!!
Hi Rachael! Welcome to the community! :)
You have mangos in your yard? I'm so jealous!!! I'm so glad you got a great deal on one!
After watching your video I'm going to try my new food saver (finally) your advice (no wrinkles!) and your attitude. We eat a lot of avocados so I'm right there with your avo excitement. No more avocados in the compost! I am rejoicing.
Woot woot!!
Works great. My only thing, no way to do anythig much smaller than the bags that come with it. Be nice to have a bag half the smaller one but then sealing might be a problem.
You can buy an attachment to seal mason jars too.
I would love to know as well! I just bought food saver vs3160.
If I could I would be so excited.
I have lots of mason jars .
WHAT?! For real? Do you have a link that you can share? I feel like this is something I NEED in my life!
Thanks. I didn’t open mine all the way either. At the point of resistance, I stopped lifting like you did the first time.
I just found you today. I bought my Food Saver about 3 weeks ago and used it for the first time last weekend … I laughed at your giddiness because I did the same thing! It IS so much fun!
Right??? I'm brining a turkey with it tomorrow! :)
Thanks Michael! :)
You did a great job with this video. Keep it up!
Thank you so much!
First time to your channel… I loved it. Informative and humorous. I live in Northern California also. Thanks for the info.
Welcome!
I vac-sealed half an avocado three days ago and it still looks fresh and green, no browning at all!
Isn't it amazing?!?
@@AdventuresinEverydayCooking For sure.
Think about it you cut off cheese and then it makes up for bag shrinkage allowing resealing
Love my food saver, I buy meat in bulk at sams and Costco, never have any freezer burn. I'm not sure as I haven't opened them how well it worked but I vacuum sealed some old family photos, lol.
Ohhh photos are a great idea!
Hopefully that is resolved now with my new mic set up! :)
Just brought my machine today your video was a lot of help before I get started thanks
Thanks for sharing. I just sealed my veggies after following your steps!
Enjoy! I do love my FoodSaver! Used it today twice for two different things! Sealing meat and par-baked sourdough!
Thank you so much for making this very informative video. You saved me a lot of time by not having to try to figure it out myself. I also appreciated your trial and error approach while demonstrating it. You found out some things by accident which are very helpful. I also enjoyed your very pleasant personality.
Thank you Casey! :)
A great video. I just got a Food Saver myself and experimented with coffee, toys, and rice. I was mostly successful. Your approach was awesome and helped me in understanding the machine and other options, like marinating meat. Any ideas on complete meals?
Many (I love it) reviews on NEW vac sealers machines BUT what about a year from than?? Is your machine still working happily? What problems have you had? Any regrets on your choice? Is your machine still working as well as it did new? thats the real review we need ,
You can do one for us! June 2022
Ms Dony, I actually switched machines since this video because I wanted a taller one for larger jobs. I've done a few updates on that machine and it's still going strong. I just got sent a SEATAO Vacuum sealer to review... so I'll be doing that soon too! I love my sealer!
I have a vacuum sealer coming today. I am so excited! I’m hoping it will make some foods last longer. Lord knows these grocery prices are insane! Saving every penny helps! I’m also excited to try vacuum sealing my breakfast burritos. One of our favorite meal prep items. We shall see if they get an icy like layer on them. You remind me of…..well…..me. LOL. I’m clueless with this stuff too. Thank you for the great video! I have definitely subscribed! 😊
Hahah! Welcome to the family! :)
Thank you for sharing this. I just bought mine & haven't used it yet.
Barbara, just jump in feet first! You'll find yourself using it for everything! Mine sits on my counter now because I use it so often.
A great presentation! At first I thought you were from Saint Paul Minnesota area, until you mention Northern California. Both roasts look great! I bought a food saver over 1 year ago and is still in the box. After watching your video you got me motivated to start using it. My wife isn't savvy, with gadgets so I will be the one giving it a try! Thanks so much! Three thumbs up!👍👍👍
Haha, well we are prior military and we were stationed in South Dakota... so I have some of that accent that hung around ;)
@@AdventuresinEverydayCooking I was close eh? lol 4.5 hours give or take.
@@PorkChopJones You were so close! 4.5 hours in California is like nothing ;)
Loved the video, you are so clear with the steps !! Thank you ❤
Great video I just got the machine and learned to used from you thanks 😊
Just bought this for Christmas, and your video was perfect for my needs! Thank you!
Glad I could help!
