One of the coolest-sounding Thunderbolts I've ever heard. Shame it's gone.

Apparently this used to be a part of the Franklin County system along with many other Thunderbolts that they replaced with Whelens. It would have been AMAZING to hear back in its prime! But alas, I was born in 2008, therefore, I was too young and all the Thunderbolts were long gone by the time I got into sirens back in 2018.

You can REALLY hear the 6M blower roaring
    Chopper type: 4/5
    Blower Type: 6M / A1
So this is a Thunderbolt 1000AT-SA1

A1 blower. sounds like it's just a really good camera, not a leak.

This one has an air leak somewhere. I can tell by its nazle tone and relatively low volume. It does have an A1 blower, though. Great video!

I've always had the guts to film sirens, it's just that my schedule does not allow me to go to different sirens during tests. I only got this since I was off on spring break and was in the area with a friend.

That's the first time I've ever a 4/5 Thunderbolt run at that high of a pitch. Nice video!

Some fun information that just came to light recently:
This siren was originally in service in Dublin, Ohio, and was removed in the late 1980s/early 1990s and sold at auction as part of a lot.
That lot was purchased by Clayton Werden. This lot also included the one top Clough Pike School in Clermont.
This siren died of neglect, the blower locked up and they just chose to take it down

Where is this sirens replacement location

      Nowhere

Makes sense. Werden is the only contractor in the Cincinnati area that installed and serviced Federal Signal sirens before becoming an ASC dealer. He and his father installed a majority of Cincinnati's old system.

Unfortunately as of October 2015 this siren has been removed from its location, no signs of a replacement siren as of yet. Two other T-bolts on nearby fire stations are still in place but probably will befall the same fate as this one has soon. Hamilton is said to get 4 Federal Signal 508 sirens to replace the 8 older sirens in town.

EMA said that old sirens will run the test until they die. I filmed the HOR today.

Yeah they closed down a month or two ago. IDK what possessed them to shut the siren off for.

if you look closely in Google Maps, you can see what might be the siren head behind the building that it was next to.

Did you try to film the one at the fire dept on Shuler and Bender? I noticed the siren was facing the same way after the test. I'd bet they shut the siren off when that fire dept closed.
