The first attorney needs a big fat SANCTION, at best she is deviously economical with the 'truth' and at worst a downright liar by omission. She should reconsider her career, her propensity to 'spin to win' makes her far more suited to being a politician.
I feel like that kid with the dreadlocks rescued himself, there. His lawyer seemed to just freeze up and wasn't offering any argument at all. Until the kid stepped in and put forward what seemed to be a sincere apology which acknowledged what he'd done and didn't minimize it. I think that's maybe why Judge Simpson agreed to give him a second chance.
I believe I met the first guy and he was rude, threatening and swearing at me all while trespassing on company property, and yes had a dog in the rough looking truck with expired tags and missing muffler, just a unpleasant person. For the last guy was the lawyer arguing that the prosecutor should not go after older cases and just drop them because they dropped newer ones? If that is the case would not every defendant just run out the clock and say well it is too old to prosecute?
If the defendant with 2 alcohol tethers has 2 DUIs or previous DUIs, he should be locked up!!! And if let out after sentencing, 10 years probation with an alcohol tethers.
IF the guy who has No $ for testing, NO $ for transportation; he could get tested while in jail. For the homeless guy, no shelters, or doesn't want one?
His kidneys hurt when he pees?? Um, that doesn't sound sus at all. He needs to see a doctor, not a judge if that is really true. I had gallstones (gallbladder removed) and they hurt like all get-out. I am told kidney stones are worse. Get a doctors note dude!
Some of the best taken care of dogs I've seen are with homeless people. It's their companion and they make sure their dog eats before they do. It gives some a reason to keep living, gives others a reason to ovey the law, and it keeps others from losing their minds. I'm saying this a big dog lover too. My dogs are treated like one of the kids and are extremely well taken care of. They even sleep in my bed under the covers most nights so at first I felt really bad for the dogs until I started paying attention to homeless with dogs and asking a few why.

Yes. Same with hair and saliva. I'm under the impression that urine is the cheapest, quickest and most accessible means of testing though since its just premade strips you plop a drop of urine on, and it turns colors depending on whats in your urine.

Watching these videos on court cases I realize how time consuming it is for judges, court staff, prosecutors, lawyers and the accused to get through the procedures before an actual trial can take place.
This is the first time that I think Judge Simpson did some messed up, foul crap. The 2nd to last case, the dude who can't pee because he supposedly has some fake, made up condition where his mental self won't let his physical self urinate. The judge says it looks like he's just doing everything he can to avoid complying with probation, after he read through the file. The guy does absolutely nothing on probation, gets a PTRP for not testing, comes up with this stupid excuse and Judge Simpson eats it up as if it's lobster. Then to top it off , the guy was late for another court case, got a bench warrant and Judge Simpson makes it go away just because he was asked to? What am I missing here? Then the last case was about a defendant that didn't show up had dirty UA's and his lawyer asks for a continuance and Simpson says absolutely not and gives him a bench warrant. The only thing I can come up with is his lawyer was highly paid, and something fishy went on when the DA, his lawyer and judge had their little pow-wow at the bench, that we weren't allowed to hear. All I can say is that was one of the most unfair dockets of Judge Simpson that I've ever seen.
It's pretty clear to me his lawyer discussed his medical condition off the record. If he's lying, they'll know next week. Lying can only buy you a little time, but long term it's much worse for you.
What you're missing is that the first guy showed up and had a plausible explanation for why he was failing to test. The second guy decided survival on the streets was more important than showing up in court and explaining his test failures. I guarantee you anyone who isn't in the hospital or in contact with their lawyer with a damn good reason why they're not in court is getting a bench warrant. Generally, defendants with legitimate issues show up to court with reciepts. People without them don't.
Judge has so much patience through all of this.

Often people have dogs before becoming homeless and didn't abandon them or they get them while on the streets. For protection and companionship.

She used to live stream for a while, but stopped it a long time ago. She's fairly young for a judge, so it made sense not to do it.
