The newest Fire Emblem game has arrived and though my journey is far from complete, now is a good of a time as any to discuss the impact it has left on me.

honestly i think the game was good although a bit unfinished and rushed in some areas and i really didn't like the route exclusive units and the favoritism towards one route with the most route exclusive units mainly the Blue lions have 10 route exclusive units and only two of them you can recruit from other routes same with the other houses there are only very limited amount of characters from the other houses you can recruit into the house you have chosen
I think most Kingdom units not changing sides is to show how pigheaded (boarheaded?) Knights of Faerghus are.
IMO Black Eagles to me had the most favoritism. Best plot, best ending, best gameplay, etc. Most of the Blue Lions aren't recruitable in other routes because they're the ones most loyal to their country. It makes perfect sense just like Golden Deer having the least exclusive units (only Hilda and Claude, 99% of the house can be recruited in SB.) also makes sense since that house's members are the least loyal. Also, while blue lions has the most exclusive characters, it comes with the drawback of having the least recruitable characters. So much so that you're unlikely to even fully fill up the training grounds until part 2 even if you recruit everyone because so few characters are recruitable in AG outside of the ones you start with. Only ones I think are Bernadetta, the Ashen Wolves, maybe Dorothea, Linhart, and a few of the Golden Deer? IDK. Meanwhile in SB you can recruit almost the entire golden deer house pretty early on (one chapter even has 4 recruits. FOUR.) plus Ashe and the Ashen Wolves. This scenario also makes a lot more sense story wise than Three Houses where any character could join any side minus a few exceptions like the church units in CF leaving once the route is locked in and the lords and retainers minus Hilda being non-recruitable, plus some anti examples like Ashe and Lorenz betraying you once timeskip hits in 2/4 of the routes. It makes no sense why someone like Ingrid, Sylvain, Annette, Caspar, or Ferdinand would betray their country or someone deeply religious like Mercedes or Marianne working with Edelgard to destroy the church. And someone like Felix is given a really poor excuse to betray in every route but BL that is basically summed up with "I hate Dimitri let's kick his ass." There Hopes is a much better way to handle recruitment since every character joining you is justified in joining one way or another, even if it's petty. (Bernie and Linhart joining in AG only because they didn't want to die, Raphael joining because you're friends with Ignatz, etc)
19:26 Hapi and Costance really feel the absence of Valkirie and Dark Flier respectively.
Worst part is that Hapi's really good in Dark Knight and Constance decent in Falcon Knight, just... both need magical lances or they do pitiful damage. But then you can't use Hrotti because Dark Knights can't wield tomes.
Balthus feels the lack of War Monk/Cleric too, all the mage stuff you can train him in only to get Essence of Fire from it if you want to use his Hero's Relic.
The Aura Knuckles are also really pointless; unless you're memeing with War Master Hubert or something, since no other mage can go the brawler line, due to it being male only. And all the other guys not called Shez are meh or bad at magic. So unless you ignore the Asura and Fluguel classes, Dark Mage ends up being pretty much Hubert exclusive.
Yeah Hubert kinda has a Magic Problem due to feel like you have to go down the Dark Knight Path with him (I'm drawing comparisons to him in three houses)
I've completed Golden Wildfire and Azure Gleam, and working on Scarlet Blaze
I'm a Golden Deer through and through but I preferred Azure Gleam so so so much more.
I'm willing to share more of my opinion if anyone has any questions

same, Azure Gleam is my favorite. I despise Claude deciding to side with the Empire and the back and forth across fodlan is annoying.

@@DarkAdonisVyers Telling yourself that the Kingdom nobles that died for their people while defending them from foreign invaders were brainwashed into doing so is reductive and another reason why I think Claude and Edelgard are a bit stupid in this game.
For the most part, I do like the new character designs (still prefer short-haired Mercedes, but that's just mainly due to my preferences toward short-haired women). Especially best Duscur boy Dedue's new design, rocking that 5'o Clock shadow there.
Really having fun with Three Hopes, just finished Azure Gleam, currently doing Scarlet Blaze.
P.S. you can really break the game if you have 5 Fire Emblem-related Amiibos, managed to get a few Zoltan weapons early thanks to them.
Claude lost a beard, while Dedue gained one.
Unfortunately, if you are doing your first playthrough or a no NG+ run, the Zoltan Weapons are unusable due to being A rank weapons and the only way to raise weapon levels to A rank is by class changing into a Master class which becomes available at the start of Part II, Chapter 10 in all routes.
Already beat Three Hopes, 244 hours. Technically already beat the paths once without recruiting Jeralt's team, and did another three back to back to get them this time around and to get all the conversations.
Impressive that's dedication.
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 Well that and I wanted to get everything done so that I could play Xenoblade Chronicles 3 when it came out, the story was ok but like you said they blew their load too early for it to mean much, it would've been cool if in Golden Wildfire we explored Almyra more
Also I came to like Hubert more with how much they personalized him, especially when you beat the game and he gives you a letter after you give him something special
At first the story structure reminded me of KH Birth by sleep, but further on....sadly there are some...questionable choices, like why claude changes target when he would've wanted the truth but instead turns to genociding the last of a race.
He doesn't turn to genociding otherwise he would hunt down Seteth and Flayn. Claude always wanted Rhea out of power since Three Houses. VW Claude blames the Church for similar stuff that Golden Wildfire Claude did. Read "The Alliance Leader's Ambitions" in Verdant Wind.
See. That's the thing. You see Rhea as a Nabatean, an endangered species. Claude, El, and I see the Archbishop of an influential religious organization. Her race is irrelevant. No guilt killing her, just as no guilt in killing Vyrthur the snow elf and Umaril the Ayleid in Elder Scrolls or Nepto in AdventureQuest Classic.

I agree that the characters are just as good if not better. I really enjoyed Caspar, he's way too funny in this game.

I don't know if you played Azure Gleam but one part really won me over. I won't spoil it but it's really good.
20:35 I like how while talking about how tedious it is to get around at the start of the game Shez is paired up.
Shez is made for getting around the map at lightning speed thanks to their shadow step and shadow stride.
He's not wrong it's just funny.

Why do people want to complain about Golden Wildfire? Nothing is confusing, Nothing is out of character for the changes, everything makes sense.
@Methodius "it would be more convenient" She also said that Rhea's death is not needed, but I like how no one cares about that.
@Methodius In Crimson Flower, after Dimitri's death, the Kingdom's de facto leader _became_ Rhea.
@Methodius No, I meant the whole "conquering the Holy Kingdom" part. In the other routes, the Kingdom is basically run by Cornelia.
I dunno. While, yes, I do feel that TWSITD not being a focus in SB was a bit weird, I do, however, feel that SB did something else that I felt was missing from 3H itself. I felt that SB gave me the chance for me to see a better picture of just what Edelgard is fighting against. The mindset of the people where nobility is valued and depended on, how even nobles are forced into a single role in life and aren't allowed to have any other choices. Like, yes, I do still love CF and support Edelgard, but I felt that what she was fighting against wasn't expressed in the best way.
But in 3Hopes, Shez comments, clearly upset, about how they could spare Count Gloucester after he outright betrayed them, or Edelgard lamenting Baron Dominic's death because of how he knew no other path in life, which helped Shez get a better understanding. Yes, what Edelgard is fighting against is a deep rooted concept, and maybe things won't get better even if they win the war, but the ability to really see what they are fighting against really helped me better appreciate what Edelgard was fighting for. And even better is that Edelgard no longer had to be tied to TWSITD which really hurt her cause for a lot of people. People can still disagree with her war on principle, but it's better that she's no longer regarded as guilty by association with them.
It was also great seeing how Edelgard and Claude actually ended up having a whole peace treaty signed and a desire to work together. It gives the idea that Edelgard, in this mindset she has, isn't completely beyond compromise. It disproves that Edelgard wants purely to reunify Fodlan under the Empire because she proves that she's willing to allow the Alliance to maintain their independence. The Kingdom, she still has issues with due to their deep ties with the Church, but there's still hope.
Very true thanks to how much focus their is on the war effort and the internal conflict within each household there is better understanding on how deep rotted the problem with nobility is in Fodlan.
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 Amazingly, I found myself a bit invested in Annette's NPC cousin, Simon. He was the heir to the House and Relic, but he abandoned it. Apparently, he only wanted to be a simple minstrel, despite how he had excellent grades when he went to Garreg Mach.
Baron Dominic referred to him as a craven, and maybe to an extent, he is, but from where I stand, Simon never wanted to be the heir. Instead, his father expects him to live and die for the people because he was born into that position in life.

At this point, the top 8 of the golden deers video is a myth but considering how different now than in Houses this is probably never going to happen or if it does it would be strange to rank them only based on their character in Houses.
No it's still happening and yes it'll ONLY be factoring their portrayal in Three Houses
This was a good analysis video for the game so far.
I will save my detailed thoughts for the story in the future to avoid spoilers for the other routes, but I will say that I really loved the direction that Golden Wildfire did and in my opinion was my personal favorite route of the three routes and I felt that it was the most original of the routes compared to it’s 3 houses counterpart and Azure Gleem in my personal opinion has a great first half, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the second half not bad just not as great as the other two routes and finally Scarlet Blaze was really good with it’s narrative too and I love how they finally get their own version of a Full scale battle like how Houses has Azure Moon and Verdant Wind has the Gronder War.
As for the cast and Supports: Amazing I really loved so many Supports in this game like Lysithea/Hubert, Hapi/Hubert, Lysithea/Mercedes, Hilda/Linhardt, All Of Holsts Supports, Hilda/Dorothea, and Jeralt/Byleth, just to name a few. And As for the cast in general, This game made me Love Lysithea, Claude, Hilda, Lorenz, Hubert, Ferdinand, Felix, Ingrid, and Sylvain even more then before (And I am so grateful that Lysithea’s Ignatz and Marianne Supports are Infinitely Better then in Houses).
As for the new faces/More explored characters in Hopes, Shez is a pretty fun character not my favorite avatar, but still a likable character that admittedly is a bit dense to be honest in some of their Supports (Lysithea, Marianne, Annette, etc.) but is still a good person, Arval is ok and I do like how snarky they are at times and are a great counterpart for sothis, Holst is amazing and now one of my absolute favorite characters in Fodlan, Monica is ok not amazing but not terrible, Caspar’s dad, Leopold Von Berglez is really cool mainly because of how long he can last in a desperate situation and still keeping his troops morale intact, Linhardts dad, Voldamir Von Heviring is a great Support for the Empire in tough situations, Sylvain’s dad, Mathis Gautier is ok but He didn’t leave much impression on me personally, and Lorenz’s dad, Ewin Friz Gloster was a character I didn’t like in Houses because of Raphael’s partlog, but in Hopes he did a 180 on me because he does feel guilty about what happened that day with Raphael’s parents and what I really liked was what he said about Lysithea and her dad, Count Ordelia, in Lysithea’s Partlog In Golden Wildfire (Won’t spoil of course). On the other hand, Bernie’s Dad, Gregoire Von Varly is still an awful person because He still treated his daughter so horribly but I like how Hubert and Edelgard makes him the new Bishop seeming like it’s a great honor but then Time Skip later and he’s being hunted by assassins and Hubert says “Poor Count Varly It couldn’t have happened to a ‘Finer Man’”, and finally theirs Ferdinand’s Dad, Ludwig Von Ageir, I know he appeared briefly in Houses but in Hopes, we saw Ludwig for the true fiend he is and now he’s one of my most hated FE characters in general (And his cutscene with Hubert and Ferdinand has never felt more satisfying).
Overall I really loved 3 Hopes and I “hope” you enjoy Golden Wildfire and Azure Gleem.
Hey great video! I’ve been putting so many hours into this game since release and I’ve been loving it as a big fan of the first FE Warriors (in terms of gameplay) and Three Houses. I agree with most of your points but I will say I’m fine with the Intermediate classes being weaker because it gave me a sense of progression as each unit got stronger as they mastered certain classes. I thought it was cool that Shez felt more experienced than the other students. Thought it was a good example of immersion.
As for my flaws, I will agree they blow their load a bit early but I still found most of the ideas interesting. My main problem with the plot is even with the good ending they feel anti-climatic and unsatisfying. Still I enjoy to know more about each house and it really made me appreciate some of the characters from Three Houses even more.
As for my main problems, they’re a bit personal. As much as I want to use the Master Classes, I hate that they have the Three Houses issue of forcing you to not be able to use the default outfits. This wouldn’t be too much of an issue if the NPC versions of these characters that you battle in other playthroughs do have them. Hilda and Dedue are able to keep their outfits as Wyvern Lords and Great Knights as enemy NPCs, but not as playable characters? That’s just lame as someone that likes to keep his characters with their default look. Also wish you can play as Byleth with their original hair color. Again, they have that appearance as an NPC. Why can’t I play with that?
I’m really hoping this game gets DLC. I would love more classes, especially ones for magic users as I feel their class options are a bit limited. It feels wrong to not have Constance as a Dark Flier. Also would love to see the Three Houses timeskip appearances be implemented as DLC since I would like to mix and mash the ones I prefer from each game. Finally, I hope they fix my minor costume gripe from the previous paragraph. It’s small, but if they’re able to have those skins in the game with NPCs they should be able to implement them for when I’m actually playing as the character.
I know this is late but this isn't an issue, in the personal quarters you can use the journal to select unit appearance, standard issue will mostly use unique appearance except for other classes and master classes and then the remaining two either only use the generic look or only use the unique look
@@pandabanaan9208 Well my issue IS the ones that lock you in the special look because I want to be able to use the classes while not being locked with into that outfit because I like using their default/canon outfit. What bothers me about it is THEY TECHNICALLY allow that. When Hilda is an enemy Wyvern Lord in other routes, she’s in her default outfit. Why can’t I do that?
@@starfalchion4404 have you tried using the unique option on wyvern hilda, I do know mounted classes don't allow unique costumes for characters who aren't naturally mounted but it should work for hilda though I can't test it myself right now since I don't have my golden wildfire run that far along
@@pandabanaan9208 I believe I have but I could try again. It mostly affects me with Hilda and Dedue since I want to use those classes for them (Wyvern for Hilda, Great Knight for Dedue) but the default armor for those classes are ugly in my opinion.

Honestly, if Those who Slither in the Dark were the main focus of the story, things might’ve been better. I understand maintaining the antagonizing against the Church, and Three Hopes did make me appreciate Edelgard more where in Three Houses I reject her and chose Rhea but I accept the game as it's own thing even if it's a bigger mess and now I hate Claude.
Claude was supposed to be the wildcard. If anything, 3 Houses was too copypaste.
Tried to focus on the Church being the Antagonist more, but also forgot to make them do anything.......well bad.

Claude should have a "I'm doing something terrible but you're still rooting for me moment" not a I'm going to commit a war crime for no strategic reason. Also more stuff like Cycles of Nostalgia most information about Arval is there GIVE ME MORE DAMNIT. Byleth should of had more supports and Whip moveset
@@mettatonneoex What war crime? Funny how Claude committed actual war crimes in 3 Houses, such as using disguises, but it's "good and clever" when done to the Empire, huh? It's a amazing game and a major upgrade to the first Fire Emblem Warriors game. I'm okay with the limit recruitments, it will make my playthrough not op like 3 Houses when you can recruit every character except for the lords and their right hand man. there are 2 routes for each house you choose, the normal route and the secret route, to get the secret route if people don't know is to recruit Byleth and Jeralt
Waiting for the inevitable DLC route.
That explains my lackluster ending for the Black Eagles...

You forgot to mention the motivation points for cooking and leveling up class mastery.
Motivation points were something that I barely noticed in the game tbh.

@@zenronez1158 No everyone does it across all sorts of games and anime, it's "cheating" to have multiple best girls cause that would be redundant, and Sumia is my best girl and no one else.

Three Hopes was a really good AU of Three Houses. It's not perfect in terms of story but still well-written imo, and the new mechanics are cool but I REALLY don't like how you're weapon-locked with each class because Marianne, Annette, and Seteth's preferred classes don't let them use their cool special weapons. And...some parts of Azure Gleam hurt to watch. But it's an excellent foil to Three Houses, right down to Shez being a good foil for Byleth.
And Bernie's dad being a whiny cowardly loser was one of my favorite parts of the game.
I like the game a lot, but having both true ending and bad ending exclusive sidequests for every route makes completing the game exhausting. Especially when the bad ending quest can only be obtained after a true ending and isn't any different depending on your route.

Might do, at the very least I'd do something tier list related but I've getting back into it recently so the passion for monster hunter videos may come back.
I got to say I really like Scarlet's Blaze Part two since really did love how they handle Ferdinand and Hubert in it. But the ending of Scarlet Blaze was lackluster to be honest since you never dealt the finishing blown if anything you just stand there and watch how Edelgard two biggest enemies kill each other and you high five in end. Crimson flower had a far better than ending since it felt. More satisfying since you get to do the finishing blow to the immaculate one and Byleth gaining their heartbeat back after so long not having it.
Very true plus the fact that Scarlet blaze didn't wrap up the events with the kingdom so it does feel rather anticlimactic.
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 In true Crimson Flower fashion, Edelgard's route never has a resolution battle. It's always offscreen.
Really hope we get DLC explaining more of Shez's backstory and what the deal with their adoptive mother was.
It would be nice to expand on Shex even further
And more clarification on timeline stuff such as if the original timeline still exists separately, plus how the new timeline came to be.

While this is still a very good game, it definitely told more rather than showed more in terms of the story and it felt very lenient towards Three Houses.
That's just the Fodlan standard. Tell more than show.
@@nuibaba280 There's a certain advantage and disadvantage to getting support from Dynasty Warriors writers. On one hand, plots with moral ambiguity. On the other hand, the writers assume that the gamers know the backstory, which would work with stuff based on actual history. Less so with pure fiction.
@@nuibaba280 Idk I feel like Three Houses did a good job telling about the problems in Fodlan and showing the consequences in the continent like the corruptions of the church and how the Ashen Wolves came to be and etc. What I meant by lenient is how some mechanics stick too close to Three Houses and not much new was added but to be fair it is based around Fodlan so I can’t fault the game too much on that.

man i wish this was just a fire emblem game, i absolutely despise the warriors gameplay but everything else seems cool. hope we get another FE game soon at any rate
They defo did their best to make it feel as much as FE as possible, but down at it's core it is still a warriors game.
I kinda disagree on the character writing being great.i mean it is, but also it's only great if you know Houses really well. Like it never explains a lot of the characters just expects you to already know what it wants you to.
Yeah it's built as a side game to 3H, without context it does fall apart but I figured they knew that since I doubt people playing this game wouldn't have played 3H before hand.

Like in the first FE Warriors knowing the games helps but the simpler stories meant it never felt like I had to know everything about every game. Inversely would something like the Dorothea/Ferdinand support make any sense without knowing their supports in Houses?
Standard Dynasty Warriors writing. It expects you to know certain things, whether from history, in the case of DW, or other works in the case of FE.
The game devs left it up to the fans to decide which game is "canon" or not- I'm honestly inclined to only consider Azure Gleam as the canon route from this game overall. It actually answered questions people had from Three Hopes regarding the Tragedy of Duscur, the catalyst for pretty much everything that happened in both games! On the other hand, SB and GW were a hot mess. SB was just Conquering Fodlan 2: Electric Boogaloo, GW teased answers about Almyra and Claude's heritage but I don't even remember if any major questions people had after VW were addressed. I just cannot wrap my head around Edelgard's justification for the war. She's not special- all three lords agree that the Crest system needs to be abolished and have beared witness to the corruption it spawns among the nobility- at least in the Kingdom nobles, we see the actual downsides and consequences for nobles that don't adhere to the system. I can't say the same for Empire or Alliance/Federation nobles. Bernie may have been abused by the hands of her father because he saw her as a comodity by virtue of her crest, but the entire focus is on her anxiety, not the crest system itself. I could keep going, but this game's story has overall left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm replaying AG as a palette cleanser before I drop this game.
It's about when do they want the change, built by their respective beliefs, especially traumas. Dimitri wants slow reforms because he has many people he trusts and believes in, so he believes that slow reforms are the way to go and things will surely get better, and while he can be technically right, he's also technically wrong as others still rebel against him and don't support what he does, ultimately resulting in Dimitri stamping out using force and this forcing his changes.
Edelgard, having literally no allies, betrayed by her uncle and Duke Aegir, cannot simply wait and hope that things will get better. She'll take the reigns, she'll force the system of nobility and Crests to be destroyed and reform it so that everyone can have power if they show desire it and work toward it. Because Edelgard cannot believe that things will surely get better. Because things didn't get better after her torture. Some hero didn't come to save her. She had no one to trust but Hubert. She won't trust the future to people when there are so many evil and corrupt people in charge.
It's not about whether the war is just or not. It's about what she believes is right. Everyone is fighting for what they feel is right. And then? It will be victors that live to write the history that will determine if they were right.
And overall, AG is by far the worst route. The entire route had to justify Dimitri's route taking on TWSITD by shitting on everyone else. Turning Edelgard into a puppet, possibly killing Hubert and Ferdinand off screen, TWSITD hijacking the entire war, and essentially turning what was originally a morally grey story into one that is just purely black and white.

@@0axis771 When it comes to Azure Gleam Story, in the beginning all the way to the end of part 1 it had an inspirational story about Dimitri Journey as king as well for seeking vengeance to punish all those who were involved of the Tragedy of Duscar while also learning the lesson that he doesn't have to through this alone and repairing relations Faerghus has for Duscar. Not to mention having the best antagonist in the entire game, that being Cleobulus otherwise known as Cornelia. He dose very excellent job of being antagonist of part one by helping setting up the events that happen in the past as well setting up the seeds that will arise to new problems in the present day that Dimitri and his friends have to face, as well of having to deal with having a war with the Adrestian Empire. Overall I do see Azure Gleam part 1 to incredibly good story see and play. As for part 2 yeah I can see some problems in the handling the Black Eagles since they really got the short end of the stick especially when it comes to Ferdinand and Hubert. And the fact they did nothing in part two of Azure Gleam was very disappointing to see, especially Ferdinand. I mean we don't even get to see his reaction to how is father was handling the empire and how he ruining everything that Edelgard was trying to in war. This could been a very interesting plot point that was never utilized in Azure which is disappointing. Especially since he manage to escape the Sliver Maiden only to naver be seen again. He might as well been killed in Chapter 9 and not escaped if the story did nothing with him surviving Arianrhod. As for Hubert he was barely in story, only fought once and naver to be seen again. Kinda disappointing since he could have been a temporary Ally of Dimitri only just to get rid of the Agarthans that's took hold of Edelgard and in the Empire. It could have been an interesting characterization of Hubert character but it never came to be. As for the story not being mortally Gray, it was never meant be a mortally gray route and was naver written to be nuance since what Dimitri is facing and what he fights in that route are the Agarthans which can be sum up as mole Nazi and backstabbers that felt no remorse for their crimes. And unlike Azure Moon, which was about letting go if the past and moving forward Azure Gleam is about finding who was really responsible for the tragedy and put an end to them. If anything I would count Golden Wildfire to be the definitive gray route in three hopes since both Azure Gleam and Scarlet Blaze makes you think you're playing with the quote on quote good guys of the story. Golden Wildfire that doesn't do that for me. But it is compelling in its own way but it was better in part one. Finally, Edelgard handling in that route was bad in it own way but it is also understandable as well. But by all means it's understandable why Noone would like characterization of her being lobotomize to a child amd not to mention how she ended up there was just badly handled to be honest. Like yes the Agarthans are able to bring people to madness as seen in Remire Village and Edelgard saying some of her siblings went mad but never full on lobotomize either. I kinda wish their was build-up to hole mind control? Thing instead of out nowhere which that what happened in Azure Gleam. But I wouldn't say it was the worst route since it dose have it up and down, good and mad moments of it all but overall I think it was a good route despite all it issues. Tho if their was two changes I would make it would be killing Edelgard off in the final battle of Azure Gleam by Shez hands and not be push to the ground. And killing of Ferdinand in Chapter 9.

@@cesanygarcia8869 Azure Gleam is DEFINITELY the Worst Route, most of it’s Goods get trumped by the Bads in the second half, the Agarthans taking over didn’t make any sense, and was nothing more than an excuse to have them be the Main Villains, since people were angry about the way Arundel died in Azure Moon. It SHOULD’VE been Morally Grey, since that what Three Hopes and Houses are technically supposed to be.
@@nickcalderon2637 Your opinion of Azure Gleam is interesting but also needlessly harsh as in believing that Azure Gleam shouldn't have the Agarthans has the main antagonist of Azure Glean. In which case I disagree with you. The hole point of the route is Dimitri battling those who were responsible for The Tragedy of Duscar while also dealing with a war with a neighboring country over religion. In which case it reasonable that Agarthans to take center stage as the main antagonist of his route. Which in contrast of Azure Moon of letting go of the past and moving forward to a brighter tomorrow which is why Dimitri naver fully fight the Agarthans and Western Nobles of the Kingdom and his uncle who were truly responsible for the tragedy. As for your issues of this route not being mortally gray, it didn't need to be fully gray route which questioned yourself if what your doing is right and or if your adversary is right. Since the Fodlan games is about perspective not who is right or wrong. Since everyone think they are just or fighting for a right cause but their are Morally ambiguous in all routes, more so then others which dose include Azure Gleam. Some examples would be characters being conflicted when invading the Adrestian Empire IE some of the Blue Lions and Hapi and some of the dears and chasing down at the Adrestian forces after their lost in Valley of torment, and by choice of chapter 12 kill Jeralt and his Mercs which leads a final clash between Shez and Byleth (plus Sothis) in a later chapter. That decision dose make the player and Shez question was it truly right to killed them and if it could been different. Last thing I must type is when comparing all the routes of three hopes and their war campaign Azure Gleam was the most coherence then others since their wasn't a battle that could've ended the war quicker and they didn't abandoned everything just to take down a riot of Bandits and moving their armies in large speeds in to home territory. But in conclusion I don't think Azure Gleam is worst Route in three hopes and yes it has issues and yes what they did to Edelgard was poorly written and out of nowhere but besides the issue with Edelgard most of Azure Gleam issues aren't that bad. Just could have been better, that all.
