I have a stressless recliner and bought it about at least! 10-15 years ago. I bought it because of ongoing back problems and regular upholstered furniture I could just not sit on it! I LOVE IT it is the only chair I will sit on for any length of time!! When I have visitors my sister and brother gravitate to this chair as well! I have had to tighten the screws recently as they would fall out but after this many years I think is great! How much other furniture does one own that lasts that long!! My back loves this chair and I am so impressed with the quality and would like to purchase another some day!!!! The leather has held up great!
Great video, very helpful. I just wish my $3,000 chair had come with these same instructions! In writing. Instead, all I received was a lovely brochure with assembly instructions. I bought mine assembled. I am still having difficulty engaging the "sleep" mode. I am very happy that he went over that in great detail. Very nice video, the chair is super comfortable for my lower back! I have always needed a lumbar support pillow in my older recliner, I no longer need that lumbar pillow. This chair is greatly helping my back and hip pain, as I am elderly. I highly recommend this chair to everyone. I am surprised there are not hundreds of reviews here.

I inherited 2 almost new stressless recliners and if they didn't look so decorative I would have gotten rid as I just could not get comfortable in them, as they barely reclined and I felt like I had my chin on my chest. In desparation I turned to the internet and was amazed to find this very helpful video, but what I want to know is why on earth are these instructions not available on buying the very expensive recliners, I have the origional paperwork, these cost £1800.00 each. Which I personally wouldn't have paid, but for that I would expect to know how to use them.

Good review. I did not know the headrest adjusted. Major plus for me. This a nice reveiw that is not a sales pitch. Two days ago my electric leg rest fell of the chair with two broken bolts. I will receive replacements but need to see if I need stronger bolts. I hope it is just my chair that failed.

How do you maintain the leather on these chairs. Mine is nearly 30 years young and the tan color is cracking. Never been cleaned or conditioned. I was thinking Chamberlain (#1?). What is you suggestion?
I find my stressless puts my back into extension rather than flexion which is not comfortable for me and my physio jas said his causing problems. I have a small which is the correct size. I have to put a pillow under my legs to stop my spine being compressed. Help! What am i doing wrong?

What is the best way to loosen up the swivel action? My Classic base is a bit tight on the swivel ring causing the ring to move with the chair if I try to swivel (scraping on the floor).
I would recommend cleaning the ring, then use a silicon lube around the clips that the ring swivels on, spin it around to get it spread out!. Hope this helps!
I am shopping for and comparing Stressless recliners specifically to upgrade an older inexpensive chair, as my husband will be having shoulder surgery and needing an alternative for sleep as he recovers. Can the headrest adjustment be made with one arm instead of both simultaneously as you have demonstrated here? For obvious reasons, he won’t be using his left that way for awhile.
It could be done with one arm. I've found that the sleep mode maneuver is difficult for anyone with injuries in general. It may be something he cannot do.
The Mike and Max (look more like traditional recliners) can be had with power adjusted headrest. I just replace my stressless-like cheaper chair just recently and sat in those two in this very showroom. They were comparable in comfort, but the style just didn't fit what I wanted. I would definitely recommend, if you can, getting your husband to sit in as many options as he can, as I definitely found some designs to fit me much more than others. Varying height and overall body size makes this inescapable.
@@Marlin101084 I had Rotator cuff surgery in my left shoulder and slept in my stressless recliner for several nights and it was a major asset. I was able to adjust it with just my right hand but you have to be in the middle of the headrest so equal pressure is going to both sides. Other than that be sure to take your codeine every 4 hours for as long as you can! Helps immensely too! Good luck!
I have a new Stressless recliner for about a month now, I am noticing squeaking when I sit down and when I lean back. Is there a way to make it not squeak? I don’t want to do anything wrong. Please advise. Lauri

Yes you can swivel 360 degrees in any direction. It is not screwed on, it is a free standing swivel ring. Spin away!

Is the armrest height adjustable?
The arm rests are NOT adjustable on any of the Stressless recliners.
I have 2 recliners but they are not leather am I able to have them reupholstered?

You can use 3M Felt Bottom rounds to put on the bottom of the ottoman feet.

Pry off the silver Stressless cap to reveal a large Torx bolt. You can remove the whole assembly, clean it, apply some grease and re-assemble.
