I was literally just talking about Addicted and then the vid drops! 🤘🏼🔥🎣
one of the best tips i ever got for using a pin was when you are doing your drift, keep your rod tip high and as much line off the water as possible. I stopped missing takes because i wasnt taking time to reel in line before setting the hook. I try to maintain a little sag in my mainline just above my float (without line touching the water) so any fish dont feel tension immediately after taking my set up.
Love the scenery and the video!! Plus made me giggle cam getting stuck in a tree again. Love your videos. Keep it up ADX!! You guys rock!!
I love pin fishing caught quite a bit of coho this year pinning cant wait to catch some steelhead/springers on the pin next year hopefully.
Seeing the bobber hanging in the trees brought back memories of fishing with my dad when I was 5 or 6.......
Cameron
Great video!! Fun trip out for sure!!
I like how you add some small but very important details to your fishing (skein w eggs). Nice job.
Learn the bc cast, or the Wallace the Wallace cast is really good in tight spots and over hangs. But requires alot more practice to get the hang of
In bc it's super common to use a 10'6 mooching rod with tons of tip power. The shorter rod is nice with trees around. Also there are casts that the line never goes behind you allowing tonyo fish easy with trees around. It's the same kind of idea as a bow and arrow cast
Great Job Cam !! You really looked like a baby deer trying to walk with that pin 😁🫡
Love seeing you guys rock the pin again. It’s popular up here in BC. sure is lots of fun fighting the fish without drag. It’s tricky to learn the casting methods but once you get them, you can sling anything you got, just as far as a baitcaster. Seen others comment this as well, but keep the line off the water as much as possible while you’re drifting the float! You won’t have to reel in all that slack, and I believe I get a cleaner drift *normally* without the line dragging on the water. Hope you guys come up to canada some time !
I caught a nice coho yesterday on an addicted sinknit series pink jig!! Was the only one down there that landed a fish 🤙🏻
I Main a pin all Salmon through steelhead season. The ultimate float fishing technique for me.
If you want to cast that Center pin further practice the Wallace cast. Start with basic slow movements. Don’t rush the learning curve for this type of cast. When you get used to it you can fire it far and even cast it side/underhand right under those trees.
When casting try having more line out, I like my bait to be close to the water this let’s the rod get more load in it and makes it easier to cast farther
You guys should make light brown and olive green twitching jigs🤷♂️
Cameron for making longer casts with the center pin I like to use my left hand to "jump start" the reel by spinning it right at the moment I swing the rod forward to cast. More specifically what I mean by that for you is. Instead of using your left hand to hold the line, pushing on it at moment you actually cast forward to create momentum in the reel. Try moving your hand to the reel handle instead and spin the reel back (letting line out) right before you swing your rod forward to cast. Doing this allows the reel to catch up when you load the rod to cast because its already moving at a higher rate of speed at the start of the throw. instead of the reel going from 0-100 it's like 25-100.
i usually dont do the wallace cast. i just leave the rod to 1 side and a little back, leave about 1 foot from rod tip to bobber, and let it drop/free spool for about 1-2 secs and swing outward. thats usually the easiest for me.
"WHAT? No Wayyyy" killed me iykyk
Awesome guys!
In terms of casting getting the reel slightly started up (pre-spin if you will) is important, the type of cast you are using works well with lots of practice but usually I just cast like any other setup, it's getting the feel of the rod loading up, the reel spinning slightly and controlling it mid-flight so you don't over spool/ birds nest, also a heavier float/ weight setup is easier to cast on a pin rod like a 25-35 gram float.
Should try using a centerpin for springs! up here in BC it's a very common method and challenging especially if you get knuckle dusted.
you nailed it when you said it's all about learning to load the rod up and then control the spool. learn those two things and you have 95% of centerpinning figured out
PART II 😁 Also maybe mention the music score in the credits! Good Stuff!! Peace 🕊️☮️
Go visit Kyle again. (Adventure Chasing) or invite him here!!! For another centerpin lesson.
I came walking down to the launch as you guys went down river and I hooked into 4 fish right behind you. Never fished that spot before either and didn't even realize that was you guys floating away as we walked up checking it out
Nice to see some pin action
Love the content guys, great video and some sweet fish
Center pin tip of the day, find the deepest hole in the river and throw rod and all right smack in the middle and walk away. Don't even look back.
Great job with that beautiful dress Jig
Well ok guys going to storm out the effin cold and try to get some steelies on the salmon- lets meet and catch fish muth krukas lolol 🎉
Cameron with the pin instead of trying to reel down fast just flick the spool. It will spool fast than you can reel it. Then set the hook
very cozy one, thank you
Have more line out and cast with the reel not the rod. Cool to see you trying the pin. Keep it up
Are your Addicted Advantage Salmon hooks available yet?
Centerpin is the best way to fish a river, your trotting your float with no drag, and you can set the hook at any time. No need to hit a bail or a button. They are hard to cast in tight quarters like a drift boat. Not sure if they still carry the advantage from a boat but on the bank a centerpin gives you an advantage.
You’re describing how a Baitcaster works. There is no advantage to a pin.
I don’t know anything about that fish I always go out for bass fishing,I still like your idea and videos it’s good to watch them’
Bass are a blast! But once you get a salmon on the end of your line in a river that's all you'll think about 👍
Steelhead ally where that at I need to take my dad we been hitting the coast to catch nothing for the last 3-4 years our buddies tho get lucky 🍀
I do the over head when I what to go for distance!! I start my cast right off the and just plop it out most times but it all depends on situation whether I’ll use the wallace or the many other cast! A center pin in my opinion is the hardest way to learn to fish all because of casting all it takes it patience and practice and you won’t be able to keep fish off you’re line once you get it!! FISH ON!!
Start my cast off the reel to get it spinning
If you’re in steelhead alley that’s my home water either it be Ohio or Pennsylvania in bring you’re center pin hundreds of guys on the river daily with them always willing to give tips especially to the LEGEND himself
Was thinking of trying the center pin but then i met a few guys using them. They had man buns and said bro alot.
Nice!
Maybe a stupid question what is a pin rod? I have never come across one before
Niall
Right on cam great video some beautiful cohos 👍
Learn the BC swing cast
Is it still worth coho fishing in the Pacific Northwest????
Sure looked like it based off this video...
Don't lie cam you know that big buck was filled with tapioca
Where can i get that rod holder for his raft?
what river is that
keep trying you will get better
The best way to get better with your center pin is to leave it home to practice there not the river.
I did the opposite and now it's all I use. My conventional gear is building up dust lol
Cam,stop casting your center pin like a spinning rod!! Don't bring the rod tip so high when you cast , you seem to have it at like 11oclock!! Side arm !! Lol 🤣😆!! Beautiful Cohos by the way!!
Cam is too stubborn it seems. He just got into bass fishing😂
Let’s gooo 🌎🎣
Did u say u r going to be in a movie
Cam, I dare you to cast with a center pin set-up exclusively for a year straight. Be consistent when targeting fish drifting roe and beads.. You'll get the hang of it. I still miss half of my hook sets because I get distracted by semi precious stones and mushrooms.. Giver
Was wondering if you guys would like to try out my new plugs 🔌
🐟🐟🐟
That is a big fish he looks red
Why do the fish have little parasites on them?
Cam on cam! Coho are easier to catch than trout. I think your too aggressive on your twitch. Try half the twitch like fly fishing otherwise AWESOME FREAKING EPISODE!! Been begging you guys to at least say the Date or explain why you don't!!?? Hope to see you on the water! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
Best pointer for those using center pins….sell it and buy a real fly rod
That was a great video. Is it possible for you guys to start saying what river you are on. I'm new to Steelhead and Salmon fishing and It would help me out and possibly help others out. I have been watching your video's for the last few months and they have helped me out a lot learning the different way's of fishing and rig's to use. Keep up the awesome job.
find your own spots this river is getting blown up
Let’s gooo #addictedfamily
Near as I can tell you just dont cast with confidence on the center pin Cam
😃👍🐟
Let’s goooooo
Doing everything wrong casting the pin
Early
I got it! ... Stop using the pin real ... Just sayin 😁
Wait is the pin supposed to to be the hardest way to catch fish? 😂😂😂😂 just put the pin down Cam! I’m a Great Lakes guy who pinned for many many years. You get a drag free drift with a baitcaster too. I gave up the pin because it takes to long to retrieve, The true monsters are tough to land with a pin in heavy flow, my hand doesn’t cramp up. Wearing gloves with a pin is a pain in the ass. In the GLs we fish brutal conditions and the pin can get reel cold on the hand. Can go on and on but the toughest thing about pinning is telling your friends and family you’re a poser. Pinners don’t outfish me on the Great Lakes. Let the 20 something’s have their pin glory while us old guys sore lip ‘em efficiently.❤
