Absolutely stunning. I love the straw hack. I love how you show us how to put it all together but wish there were tutorials on how to design them.
I'm frustrated that there's only a 'thumbs up' button. There should be a 'love' button because this is absolutely beautiful.
Thanks Mary. The comment works for me!
A million gazillion likes for your composure, professionalism, efficiency, and clear instructions + process. How BEAUTIFUL. How stunning 🤩 from Michigan
My first time watching you. You are an excellent teacher, each step is explained very well, with tips along the way. No unnecessary gabbing, and speeding through the “boring” steps. Well done, the project is gorgeous!! Thank you
Hi Marji, I made this Deer at Moonrise Shadow Box for my Husband's Birthday this month. He absolutely loved it. I was real pleased with how it turned out. You explained how to make it very clearly. Thank you so much for making this available for crafters to purchase it.
Hi Marji ! I purchased this svg file and made it to give to my Mom for her Birthday. I have to tell you it is the most beautiful shadow box I have ever seen. She loved it, I loved it so much I will be making one for myself next! The black against the vanilla paper is just stunning! Please tell me you will be designing more like this?? I would love to see some with maybe wolves or bears and would purchase every one of them!
I love the additional depth that the colored cardstock provides for the trees and shadows. I also appreciate you explaining the moon glow background. On another project, I was considering doing something like that... you have given me a little encouragement to try my idea. Thank you for sharing.
This is absolutely beautiful. I love the extra layers with the black cut-outs and the deer shadows. I can't wait to try this. Your tutorial is wonderful and easy to understand. Thank you!
Just finished this for my mom. It’s Christmas Eve, it is so beautiful! She is going to love it!
Next I will make it for my husband and I. Merry Christmas. I love your designs and instructions.
Love this shadow box
This is so beautiful! I did your other one with the beach at Sunset too! You are a MASTER designer and a wonderful, easy to understand teacher! I can't wait for the next large design!
I have been collecting ideas and am thinking of the next one as well! Thanks for all you kind comments.
Thank you for the great tutorial. I just purchased to this tonight and I'm so excited to create this beautiful piece
WOW!! Just stunning. Love this method. Going to go back and redo some of my others done in the old way.
I don't think you need to re-do the ones already made- but you could adjust for any that you plan to make again.
@@3dcuts can you tell me where I purchase this Svg please
Outstanding work, thank you
You are AWESOME! I have subscribed. Excellent teaching skills, pleasant to listen to, and just wonderful personality. Thanx so much for doing this tutorial.
Sou do Brasil estou apaixonada pelo seu canal. Deus abençoe!😍

Thank you for replying to my question. I guess I've set myself a big challenge but I'm going to try and see if I can succeed
Love to see a a photo when you do!
Absolutely stunning!❤️🇨🇦
Beautiful and excellent instructions
Such a magical scene! I don't think my Scan n Cut would cope with that level of detail. :-)
Absolutely beautiful! And the tutorial was fantastic!
Glad you enjoyed it. This is one of my favorite files.
I did this one today. It took me all afternoon, and it isn’t perfect, but I love it.
Mine is never perfect either. Loving it is all that matters.
That’s is absolutely beautiful! I’m going to have to make two of these because I have two sons. Thank you so much!!!
Thanks. Lucky sons. Happy crafting.
Gorgeous!! Absolutely stunning!
Thank you.
Simply lovely and has inspired me to make something for the first time this year! Thank you so much for such a clear tutorial too.
Thanks and have fun.
Love this! Thanks for sharing your work
Hi, This is so pretty...and I love your music
Thank you!
So beautiful .
WOWWWW really beautiful.
Wow that is stunning!
Beautiful! What do you mean by quality card stock. Do you recommend a particular kind? Also is that Tacky glue you’re using?
I like the American Craft Brand when I need to do tricky cuts. I use Art Glitter Glue as my wet glue.
AMAZING!!!! Thanks for the tutorial. 🙂
Beautiful.
i'm really sorry to swear but i bloody love this thank you so much for sharing xxxxx
Gorgeous!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Thank you so very much for this pattern.
Absolutely beautiful glad I found you 🌹
Glad you did too. Enjoy making them.
I love it! Must have. Thanks Marji
You are welcome. Looking forward to what people think of the new assembly process.
I adore this project! Such wonderful work. I do wish, however, that the video was better aligned to catch the view of the whole project. There were times when I couldn't see what she was doing at the very bottom.
This is gorgeous. I'd like to try this.
Go for it. The biggest challenge is the cutting. Be sure to use high quality paper and blade.
Beautiful! I love the idea of using straws as spacers.
This is beautiful. I am from Australia and would love to see some Australian birds. eg Kookaburra. We have some amazing animlas.
Love love this! Thank you!
You are welcome. Enjoy making it!
Very interesting
Your work is beautiful. Where can i purchase the dowlads please xx
Simply Beautiful 😍
Thank you Vickie Lynne.
Спасибо за мастер класс!
Hi Marji, what is the best cutting machine that you recommend for making papercut shadow boxes?
I use the Silhouette Cameo 3 which I love. I have never used any other cutting machine so I can't say it is the best. Others have said the software for the Silhouette is much better than the other cutting machines.
Marji, it looks so beautiful! I just downloaded the file. Can't wait to start! One quick question. Is the frame you used, the Americanflat 11x11 Shadow Box Frame, Black from Amazon? Which was used for the Heart Tree Shadow Box "Square". Thank you, Monica
Yes, it is the same frame. In fact I only have one and I rotate the different interiors in and out of it. Changing art work on display!
@@marjiroyabd LOL.....
Can’t wait to make mine. What cardstock did u use. Thanks
Go to the tutorial here 3dcuts.com/deer-at-moonrise-tutorial For a listing of all supplies and links to where to get them.
This is beautiful and I will definitely include it in my Christmas gift projects. Can you tell me the size you cut the vanilla and gray frames? Thank you!
All part sizes are listed in the online tutorial here. 3dcuts.com/deer-at-moonrise-tutorial. The front gray and vanilla frames are 10.97 x 10.97” square.
I can't wait to try this. Do all shadow boxes have that frame insert that comes out? I was hoping to get one from my local craft store.
No - not all have that. It isn't really required for this design because you don't see the sides of the box but will have to adjust to your frame if different.
I tried several times to resize this down to a 9x9 box , 8.5 x 8.5 inside and I can't get the black deer and tree's sized correctly I would appreciate any help.
YOu must re-size everything group together so you get a proportional re-size. Bring everything into 1 workspace and group. Make a square that is the size you need. Resize the group with shift key held down (or however you get a proportional shrink) and re-size until the square matches the one that is the inside of your shadow box. Ungroup, separate and cut. Always re size all parts together. Be sure to ATTACh if using a cricut.
magnifique!
Hi Marji, beautiful design. One question - could you tell me how deep your shadow box is please? I have some 1” deep frames, but I suspect they are not deep enough to give a good effect. Thank you
The frame I used is 2.25” deep. I know this could be done in a frame 2” deep because I had an extra .25 of space. I think in 1” you could still create the design but there wouldn’t much space between layers.
Can you cut out all your layers and pics with a craft knife if you don't have machines like me
It is possible but very time consuming. The branches of the birch tree would be challenging. But I have seen people with amazing cutting skill do incredible things.
Marji I just cut everything and put the layers together ....... I do have aquestion if I used fairy lights behind the scene how would i go about placing them ? Or do you have a tutorial on how to do it ?
Hi Jenny, I designed this shadow box to not have fairy lights. However Melanie Burton did add fairy lights to hers. There is a photo of it at the end of the web tutorial here 3dcuts.com/deer-at-moonrise-tutorial . I do not have a tutorial so i don't know the process she used. Hints- put lights between the layers but attach them to the front of each layer (not the first one) so you don't get hot spots. Tape in place so you can move them around. Consider how you will hide the battery pack. Hope this helps. Marji
@@3dcuts Marji i watched your other videos using the lights .... I only bought a strand with 10 lights i don't think it needs much , so would i just put them on the cardstock back with the moon ? I also was looking at your shadow box design with the dog Companionship .... can I use the straw method on it ?
Jenny, I would put the lights on the front of the moon layer so it shines up between the layers - put experiment. Just slide them in, turn off the room lights and look. Then slide them out and try a different layer. Marji
What is the straw made of and do they have a name so i can search ir on google?
I have used both plastic and paper straws. They are regular drinking straws. There is a link to the ones I used at the online tutorial here 3dcuts.com/deer-at-moonrise-tutorial
@@3dcuts thank you!!!
Great video ! How can I do this but with a person's photo ?
I have no idea. That would be a different process altogether. You could try working with the photo in a program like photoshop to separate layers but then you would need the skill set to draw in the parts that are hidden behind creating a series of layers.
@@marjiroyabd ohhh ok Ty!
I can cut with Laser cut
Mdf 3mm is used or only colored paper
I honestly do not know. I have never used a laser cutter but I would think that you can. Marji
Gorgeous , can I use the cricut machine to cut it ?
Any machine that can use svg files can use this file. The oldest Cricut can not but anything from the explore forward can including the maker.
Can you use parchment paper instead of vellum paper?
You can - but hold it in place and see if you like the visual effect first.
Just ordered this downloaded not sure where I find my sky file
Once you unzip it you will find the sky file in the first level of the folder. It is not in the SVG folder but one level out.
Where can i find this file? Its beautiful
The file is here 3dcuts.com/shadow-boxes-nature-themes
if the printable background in the file??
Yes, it is included in the download.
Took me forever to tape the straws lol
Hi I have purchased this but haven’t received it. Could you resend please
I just resent - but if you didn't get it you will need to send me your email address. If you entered it incorrectly you won't get it and you didn't include it so I can't tell if it is incorrect or not. Happy crafting,
Marji
Still haven’t received. My email n.mullinder@btinternet.com.
I ordered the template for the deer in moonlight but can only see the tutorial
@@noelinemullinder236 I just resent it. You left out one of "L" s in your email address. I think I fixed that. You should have received it now.
Thank you so much ... got it x
great design, but you have a flaw, your product is soposed to fit in a 12x12 frame, it does not, off by one inch. no biggie, ill put another boarder on
In the tutorial I talk about frame size. The file is designed to fit in a frame with an 11” interior space. Some stores sell that as an 11” shadow box- even though the outside measurement is 12 x12. Others sell it as a 12 x12”
