We popped this cassette in and kitten went from meowing constantly to dead silent for the duration of the song. Right after it ended, it let out a HUGE meow. The reaction to synths on this album was ridiculous. It’s a solid album and this song rocks. I think there was a tendency maybe to see this album as selling out or getting to glossy or something, when really they were just evolving and trying new things to keep it fresh. They had done more streamlined, commercial, and accessible songs for a while by this point but I don’t think they ever tipped too far in one direction. They still maintained their unique sound and style. Wanting the same kind of metal over and over doesn’t compute with me, bands need to experiment and change or grow, otherwise they become stale.
Im a teenager and love 80s songs. Its the only type of music i listen to cz ive grown up listening to it due to my parents playing it around the house, because its what they grew up with. @@Trollamollex I usually listen to an artist through all their discography and then make a play list of my top 25-50 songs, there's no point with judas priest, everyone song is hugely memorable in its on right, be it the brutal melodies, Rob Halford insane vocal range, the difference between the 2 albums with Tim Owens provide something very new and different in style, they are such a welcoming band to listen to, so much diversity in style and I'm yet to find a song I wouldn't definitely listen to again

I recently gone back to Gran Turismo 3. When I turned it on and started my first race in over 20 some odd years just to hear this playing brought back good memories of that game.
I can still remember exactly how we hit the streets of Berlin with Micha's Golf GTI, "slightly fueled", with all the windows down and full pipe... everyone should hear it... the "Turbo Lover" by Judas Priest! Oh man.. that was awesome! 😎👍
This is why priest has lasted as long as they have like kiss like the stones like Zeppelin and all the big timers you got to change your sound every once in awhile this was not the heaviest but it was still a damn good album!
I accidentally disliked this due to the f***ing ad that was playing, but I definitely love this song. I immediately undid that dislike and gave it a like as soon as I realized what happened. Needless to say the dislike was meant for the TMobile ad. This is an amazing song that I still love till this day 2/12/23. Google has become quite a nuisance. I love this song, but only one thing hinders it from greatness. You will feel the turbo, but only if you change the speed to 1.25x. Just a little bit of extra tempo turns this from a good high octane song to a ripping, raging fireball of speed hitting your ears. Follow your heart. Press that turbo button. Great album! I think priest was the only pure heavy metal band in rock history. AC/DC, and the others were more like hard rock/heavy metal combined. Priest songs were so dark, deep and mideival too, and party all night Long as well. They were something else! Love them!😄💗

Supposedly Tony Scott wanted this track for Top Gun and JP turned them down flat. I wonder if someone has made a bootleg version with Turbo Lover instead of Danger Zone at all? There's a similar situation with A Nightmare On Elm Street - Black Sabbath was supposed to provide their track "Nightmare" (the Ray Gillen version) for Dream Warriors but it fell through and Dokken had their moment. Nightmare is fantastic, I love the Tony Martin and Ray Gillen versions tbh.

Priest had such good artwork in the 80s. I think their album covers were just as unique and colourful as Maidens

You are mostly correct; it was the track "Reckless" that they wanted to use for Top Gun, not "Turbo Lover".
