Regarding the alignment of the chambers when the loading gate is open, I own a second generation (made 1977) single action army in 45 colt, and the chambers don’t align on that either In order to eject a spent case, you have to move cylinder a little to the right.
0:20 Yes, they apparently had made a version with the funnily shaped cylinder like it is on the box. There are some reviews of such models here on youtube. Really good, that yours has got the right shape.
I am a collector / shooter of 100 percent original fully functional original powder burner firearms forv60 plus years. My collection starts 1420 to present day 2021. I can assure you Colt Never used Slits to engage the cylender lock bar. Further no other actual powder burner firearms manufacture ever did either. Any you may have seen on youtube were replicas made by kolser or denix or other poor replica toy gun manufacture. I admit kolser is better then fenix but compared to the real powder burner original they are not even close. Check out real ones before you speak go to firearms shops gun clubs museum but please check reals ones in person also contact Colt, Smith and Wesson, Remington they will absolutely conform my comment
I have the version pictured on the box, bought as a present, l use it to practice spinning so it doesn't really matter how it looks so much, I've never seen a colt version of the cylinder
@@MrBoobieMan69 Yep they are very tinny and cheap looking, better to buy a Umarex co2 177 pellet firing SAA Peacemaker, look and feel great and shoot too.
Same here. I got a few older model Colts from Denix about a month ago for a short film. They're ok, but I don't trust something not to break at a critical moment on the ones that I was planning to use most often. I already have a Peacemaker blank firer from ages ago which is really solid. Because it's really reliable I decided to use that instead, but decided I wanted it to be one of a pair. The Kolser replicas seem to be just that bit more solid than Denix, so I ordered the same model as you from Battle Orders too. Unlike a lot of other UK vendors Battle actually had it at a good price, in stock & ready to send. It's a shame Kolser don't do other old west pistols too. Only Denix seem to offer a decent range in that respect.
The Kolser Colts are pretty good, but I really dislike the flat shape of the wooden grips. Denix does a much better job with that. The other thing I don't like is the thin shaped trigger end. Forget about gun spinning, because the trigger will make your trigger finger hurt very quickly. Just compare that with the Denix ones, and you'll see what I mean.
The trigger shape is identical to the original colt saa however the problem on Kolser and Denix Replicas is the possition of the trigger is that of a double action rather then single action. Bare in mind. In real life old west no one twirled their guns no one fanned their guns no one had low slung fast draw holster. That was all a product of Hollywood. In the old west gun twirling and fanning were only ever seen at shooting exhibitions or wild west shows.in the entire history of the United States and of Canada there are only about 6 cases of actual witnessed and recorded face to face gunfights. Most gunfights were shooting someone in the back by ambush or would be a drunken brawl in a saloon someone would pull a gun and shoot someone. That is Fact as recorded in news paper archives historical archives law enforcement archives and more. As to the low slung fast draw holster...its called a Buscadaro rig and was Not invented till 1920. In the old west the carried their guns in their pocket, tucked into their waist, those who could afford holster wore them waist high. Fact which is also proven by historical photos, museums, personal journals
@@darylnahorny8326 Thank you for all the details. I knew about almost everyting you've mentioned( the historical facts, the holsters, fanning etc. etc.) However I don't own a real Colt revolver (it's not allowed in my home country),so the Kolser en Replix deco replica's are what I have to deal with. I like twirling guns (coming from a circus background) and what I've found out is that the Kolser revolvers are not the best to use for that purpose. The trigger shape is a little different from the Denix ones. I can spin the Denix guns for quite a long time, not so with the Kolsers.
What are these Kolser SAA's made from? alloy or steel? I can't find any info on that. Yes the Umarex CO2 guns are great but they don't make a 4 and 3/4 inch barrel version and cost more than double the price of a Kolser.
I bought one in 2020 in black but did not like the finish so I took some steel wool and metal polish to it and it now looks 100% more realistic. The dummy shells are a loose fit and require a bit of tape around them or they slip backwards and foul the action. I agree with the comments about the Denix nickel finish it is very poor.
Recently got the cavalry variant of this (pretty much just a slightly longer barrel), it's overall very good but I had a problem where one of the chambers in the cylinder doesn't quite fit the dummy rounds and are a tiny bit higher in the chamber than they should be, which causes the cylinder to get caught on the mechanism unless you push down on the cylinder a bit, once the hammer hits the "primer" of the round in the dodgy chamber it forces it in so it's no longer a problem but at that point it needs quite a bit of force to remove the bullet again. I would imagine it's fixable by filing the chamber down or something but yeah. Also not sure if this is a problem on the real gun, but holding the gun with the barrel pointing upward while trying to cock the hammer can cause the bullets to fall out of the chamber enough to block the mechanism which locks it up unless you lower the gun.
@@grahamthebaronhesketh. Umarex are definently not ”Good” replicas. I have heard that they break very easily and their material is really shit. They are very expansive for that matter, around 200-300$ for one of them and also the hammer on the Umarex replica isnt right. I cant do anything but disagree with you my friend. Umarex is a bad airsoft company when it comes to the Colt 45.

@@BanzaiRUclipsChannel I have the Colt 45 you speak of and it's an excellent gun l get 130 x 177 pellet shots to a gas cartridge and it's the most accurate out of all my co2 guns, there was trouble a few years ago with the SAA airsoft bb version the barrels often came loose away from the cylinder, but that's been addressed and it never affected the pellet version. I've put thousands of rounds thru my peacemaker and it's as sound as a pound, it's beautifully made as is the Magnum 44 Dirty Harry gun l got from them excellent finishes, in case hardened, antique, battlefield, silvered, blued. I would reccomend them over these guns on here, tho these guns look like works of art compared to the awful Dennix which l would only give to my 5 Yr old grandson to play with and only then if someone gave me money to take them off their hands lol.

If the cylinder loading doesn't line up with the loading gate.. then you got one with a manufacturing fault. A fully working Kolser replica should line up fine.
on a real one you got 4 clicks, the first is for safety but never trust that, go to the 2nd click 'n you can turn the cylinder clockwise for reload, 4th is full cock, only 5 rounds never 6 western or cowboy load 1 in one free four in cock 'n release the hammer will be over the empty chamber, original revolvers got this C-O-L-T 4 click hammer...but this is only a toy so who care 'bout such facts it's for children
I got one as a present for christmas this year, and I have made a mistake, I took it apart to see if I could remove the cylinder to smooth up the chambers. I have all parts back in place except the (what I'm guessing) is the trigger spring. If you have any advice I much appreciate it.

I have the black Western Frontier one, with wood grips. I am more than happy with it, except for one thing that's bugging me. The one I bought came with spare ivory coloured plastic bull head grips, which I really want to put on. I thought it was just a straight forward case of unscrewing the screws on the grips and screwing the other grips on, but that doesn't seem to work. Is it ok to fan the hammer or is the hammer spring going to break?
I wouldn't try it. Even with REAL Colts, if they're not ADAPTED for fanning, the spring will break

The hammers don't sit tight to the cylinder because of the design of the Co2 gas system.
