The best trading video I have ever seem! Charles is knowledgable, well prepared and present his viewpoint logically. Thanks for this amazing interview , Richard. Can you please have Charles back to talk about selling rules? Many thanks.
Really great video! I'm definitely the type of person to get frustrated buying breakouts that later fail. Having alternative points to buy on weakness really resonates with me. Look forward to trying this out!
Huge fan of Charles ever since I saw him on IBD Live, extensive knowledge and history humble on how he explains his techniques. Thank you Charles and TraderLion for taking the time.
The tactics of trading and the principles underlying them that Mr. Harris presents so ably here are almost identical, but for his terminology and his employment of moving averages rather than trendlines, to those developed by Richard W. Schabacker and set forth in his great, seminal work, Technical Analysis and Stock Market Profits, first published in 1932 and subsequently regarded by many as the "original bible" of the discipline.
~1 to 2 weeks accumulation around 50-day MA support zone, allows for 'normal' chop as it bounces off the 50-day (if it bounces) and resumes up trending
This video is truely a grate strategy for continuation in trade. I know how to enter and exit. But can't take it a long run with winner . Now i got so many things very clear and know the techniques to ride woth winner.
Watching this video in 2024, trying this strategy from past couple of months, made some successful trades, i made an indicator based on this strategy. However I am willing to learn more and refine my process
These Learning videos are GEMS. Thanks Charels for sharing your knowledge from extensive 20+ years of experience. Thanks Richard for the content and right sets of Q&A.
Great video. Maybe Mr. Harris should consider moving to a no tax state. I live in NYS which is a high taxed state. I don't have his problem because I don't have his skills.
When your swing trading smaller size around a core position. Are you doing LIFO or first in first out? Wouldn’t that raise your overall cost average? Any thoughts on this?
Hi Charles, thanks for this wonderful content. At minute 9.20 you talk about liquidity compared to the size of your account. Could you give a rapid guide to what to seek as Average Daily Traded Volume in respect to the position we are trading? Should we seek, for example, only stocks that trade daily 1000x the size of a full size position? Or more? Thanks
Thanks for uploading this video Richard. What does he mean by upside reversal day ? Green day after the stock pulls back to a key support level/moving average ?
In buying prior to breakout at 18:03 example , Red MA is falling not sure if its 50 or 200 DMA , is it fine as it indicates that stock is not trending ?
20' 03”, do you require increasing volume for each pull back buy? Other than the first upside reversal, the other ones seem not having big volume. How do you weigh the volume vs desired price pattern
Loved this presentation. I was just searching for a strategy during these kind of markets where "correct" pivot points are failing and institutions are selling into strength. Thanks so much!
Best one I seen I Mean 🔥 information. I can use my sma and expon so much better and know my entries with a 10 percent stop loss managing my stop as the stock rises so I have to get a good entry
I like TraderLion videos, and this was a good presentation, Richard does a great job with the questions. However, I have the impression that these pro traders are just showing an overall picture of their setups. Do they really trade based on a strong conviction with a particular stock plus a reversal candlestick just after support? I am not sure... So I get the main idea but I know there is a lot more work to do behind the scenes...
There definitely is more work to do behind the scenes, and I think Charles and the other traders would say the same. Hundreds of hours of chart time, reviewing past trades and past market cycles, along with being able to identify the market environment that fits those setups the best.
Yoo Richard, this is very helpful! i have been trying to follow VCPs and following trends. i am too conservative with my positions because i use only 0.1% of my position at risk every trade or 2.5% of my total portfolio. This strategy of buying pullbacks will add entries to my strategies because it is still based on the CANSLIM/ VCP style of trading. This will help pyramiding or averaging up my positions without risking too much in a single entry. I can enter with 2.5% positions with very low risk but will be able to do it a lot of times to build it up to 20% by adding these pullback entries!! i was only focused on buying Pivot breakouts before and it takes a while for a new breakout set up to form before i add so this pullback entries helps a lot! Do you apply these pullback entries as well Richard?? :)
Awesome, one small thing would be if you could get your guests to use a larger arrow as their curser, so it's easier to see when doing a demo,it would be so much easier to see where they are talking about. Great though.
This should be looked at as a course on what not to do. This is why mark Minervini takes very small losses 6-8% should be considered a bad loss. Buying as stocks fall is insane. Especially beginners should be cautious about listening to this advice.
Lol. Buying pullback in uptrend stocks is a solid strategy. Better risk to reward ratio compared to breakout style. 5-7% loss is normal considering it offers 1:2 reward or more.
I have a question. He is saying that he only enters the trade if it is in uptrend and also if pullback is above 10%. I don't have much experience, but it seems to me that it is very rare or it barely ever happens that stocks pullback more than 10% during uptrend?
Stocks will very often pullback 10-30% while still in a longer term uptrend. After large moves stocks tend to pullback/base before the next leg higher.
Hello Richard, Thanks a lot for this masterclass. I just don't understand how to add position if a stock is getting close to 21 or 50 MAs. Speaker tells that he never go all at once. He slowly add position. I never understand this concept. If I keep adding on the way up, my risk increases. And if I keep adding on way down, I just don't know when to stop. Plz help
1:16:40 Interesting to listen to this with hindsight (knowing that he blew up with $TSLA) He broke his own rules because he believed the stock would go up forever.
@TraderLion I know, he is a beast and I listen to every word. It was just nice to see some charts from that time. This year started off similarly I suppose. I am new to your content, but very glad I found it 🙏

@TraderLion I know, he is a beast and I listen to every word. It was just nice to see some charts from that time. This year started off similarly I suppose. I am new to your content, but very glad I found it 🙏
Most of the examples shown were during the 2020 bull run. I have found these strategies are not working during sideways and bearish phases.
He clearly stated that this should be used during confirmed uptrend.
With Tesla, Harris is literally arguing with the market @1:23:48. That’s how much he believes.
