Those reactions were so cute! Please continue watching arcane you are in for a ride. Congratulations for being able to compose yourself after all of that. I just cried so much and also goosebumps from all the emotional things happening.
I love Markus as a character. He has such a small role and yet they did make the effort of making him a complex character. He clearly wants to be a hero, a paragon like the Woman he looked up to. He was ambitious and wanted too much too fast and fucked up royaly. He wants to be a good man, but he doesnt have the integrity and willpower to make those decisions that could destroy him to do the right thing. His biggest weaknes is the fact that he can not bring himself to sacrifice his ambitions to do what needs to be done, but these same ambitions also keep him from giving up his career so his lack of chracter can not lead to even greater fuck ups. So he uses half measures or gets involved with people that he can not control or work with. Markus is a good man, but also a greedy and glory hungry man. He doesnt have the strength of character he needs to deal with the likes of Silko.
It's a sad thing that most people seem to really dislike the character or consider him weak and unimportant. His role in the plot is substantial, his struggle human and complex and his portrait subtly amazing. I guess it's because he represents something we feel is not like us, something we think we could never become. People want to live trough the lens of the hero and respect the larger-than-life villains but the reality is that a lot of people (in a fucked up situation where their lives, careers and family are jeopardized, growing up with prejudice and misconceptions about others) would instead be (or already are) a Marcus and they don't like or believe that about themselves.
@@Pizvo it certainly ios possible. Markus is an ugly mirror to most humans. A man that tries, a man that even cares, but is just self interested or cowardly enough to not actually do something great or make the nessescary sacrifice. The person wanting to speak up, but then sits back down and thinks to themselves: "I wouldn't make a difference anyway" The person wanting to fight to protect others, but then cant bring themselves to pick up the gun or sword in the end. A person that is good natured and is doping their best.... but their best is simply not enough in a cruel and uncaring world.
Marcus is my favorite character just because of how human he is. Dude wants to do good but got too ambitious. Then he tried to right his wrongs by following what Greyson did, working with the leader of the underground for peace between both sides. Sad thing is Silco was not like Vander. And now He has a daughter so even if he did want to go against Silco and sacrifice his position or his life, he can't anymore. Marcus was good but also greedy, he went too deep and couldn't back out

Powder was having a panic attack. Due, in my opinion, to her unresolved abandonment and self-worth issues. I've never experienced one, but I'm told it's a very realistic portrayal.
Ooh, what a wonderful reaction. I love how you understand the messiness and complexity of everyone's motivations at the end! It truly is a beautiful tragedy
I'm glad you continue, I haven't seen even the most spartan contain a tear for this episode, not even me. At least you have good company on the couch. 🐶 I always see the reactions and this is one of the episodes that generates the most emotions, to put you in the mood of how everything can break. It is interesting that you think Jayce and Victor could betray each other, that way you will be aware of their stories. pouder's cry is that if she was going crazy, she has always been broken since her parents died on the bridge and every time she saw a fight she froze, everything bad she saw or was told she swallowed and said nothing. for Pouder Vi it was his world and his only light, the others were of help or insult and as for Vander, he was only there. I lived with the constant of getting approval, affection and some affection in that ghetto called Zaun. now she will be next to a man who used gentle words like "hello little girl". Silco is a brutal guy but not a monster, he must get the monster out of one, either using words or that drug and he told Vander "I will show you what you really are". Marcus I don't think he wanted to have done what he did, maybe we are facing a type of double standard and more turns than a coin in the air.
What we see here is the conclusion of the previous events, Jace & Victor conspired to carry out their experiments although not going unnoticed in the eyes of Councilor Medarda who sees the initiative of both as an opportunity for her company, I do not blame her and I applaud in their cooperation, the scene where they both say "our Hextec dream for a better world" follows the Vander & Silco scene where one confronts him with "his dream of the nation of Zaun" (the independence of the district) broken by the betrayal, as you said "there will be a betrayal between two visionaries, it is not a spoiler if you have already assumed it, although perhaps the one who deviates is not who you expect or in the way that one assumes. On the other hand, Silco's trap works and captures Vander dispatching Sheriff Grayson and Benso leaving Vi and the other boys with a bait to lure whoever wants to rescue him and make them disappear by eliminating possible resistance to his rule. but everything turns out in the worst way despite Vi's resistance and that they were about to escape Powder blows up the factory and causes the death of the others making Vi blame her for everything in a tantrum hitting her, I assume she just walked away from her to not hit her again and that separation marks Powder as an abandonment which now sees Silco as his only company, the latter sees Powder as a reflection of himself in the past for the reason you mentioned "he abandoned me, she no longer is my sister". The rhymes in Arcane are fulfilled, the prologue to Silco drowning is the image of Powder falling showing his destiny, two young sisters are separated in tragedy & two young enthusiasts are united in success, one community loses its defender and the other is reborn to a dreamer, a city rises in progress and the other falls into uncertainty, what comes after will be a time jump but you will have to discover the destiny of each character on the fly and assume that whoever does not appear will appear at the right time.
Interesting thing about the sisters.. Vi's name is Violet.. as in violet purple hair. Powder's name is.. Powder... as in powder blue hair. I think it is interesting that every person I've ever seen react to this (including my own initial thoughts) were that the purple stuff would somehow save Vander. This is fascinating, given that we see that the kid who initially took the purple stuff is looking quite bad after his first experience... it takes a lot out of you, so you basically end up weaker than when you started after it is done with you. Vander started on the brink of death, so when he comes down off of the purple stuff... weaker than the brink of death isn't a very good place to be. Since you've played Jinx, I don't think this is any sort of spoiler. The last frame we get of Powder's eye through Silco's bent arm... that is called the Fallen Angel. It is a painting from 1847. George Lucas used the same imagery in his depiction of young Annakin Skywalker's fall from grace.

First of all, great video. Second, I would like to say something about Marcus's deal with SilcoObviouslyly Silco told Markus who the kids are/where to find them but here is where it becomes a little dim. All Marcus wanted was to arrest the kids and be done with it and Silco would benefit from it by making Vander look even weaker and probably giving him some sort of motivation to seek revenge againsthe the top side. A little before the enforcers arrived to make the arrest Silco changed his mind and decided to kill the sheriff, thus putting Markus at the top, in order to havan an easier time in bottom side and with smuggling. Vander and the kids were going to be used either as weapons(with the aim to make the prospect of war too costly for Piltover) or he was going to kill them to eliminate all resistance in the bottom side(or both?). I am obviously shooting a bit in the dark here but I find it strange that most people forget to discuss what the deal between Marcus and Silco was(the initial deal at least).
I have thought about that often. My thought is similar to yours but the deal is simply Silco tells Marcus where to find the kids and that during the arrest Silco and his goons would kill both enforcers and the children, thus forcing war by both enraged sides. Vander sort of screws that plan up by turning himself in. Silco changes plans. Now Silco decides to kill the sheriff, and take Vander in order to convince him to fight. The dead sheriff would convince the top side to go to war. Dead Benzo and Vander missing (along with his kids) would make it so that following Silco into a war that was already coming would be the undercities only choice. I don't get why Silco tosses the bag of coins to Marcus though. Maybe Silco just figures that is the easiest way to get Marcus to stop complaining about stuff.
@@babette5918 Not so sure his plan was initially to kill members of both sides and start a war. Remember Silco didn't want an actual war. He knew he wouldn't win a war. He wanted to scare the topside.. use fear as his weapon. As for the money, it was sort of a way to make Marcus complicit. It wasn't necessary, but basically was like: "Here is something for the trouble" ... and by the way, if you take it, you are now part of this (even more so). It was the moment Marcus should have said "Hell with it"... called in the enforcers and took Silco down... but he didn't. Making correct decisions wasn't exactly Marcus' strong suit.
Understandable Vi's reaction in the moment, she just lost her father and essentially two brothers. All because Powder didn't listen to Vi and it even showed they had a way out without her meddling.
Potentially they could have escaped but it’s easy to fall into trap of ‘what ifs’. We don’t know if they would have escaped. For all we know mutant deckard could have possibly broken through the door right after they tried to leave, chase them down and kill them all as he’s faster and stronger. We simply don’t know what would have happened if powder didn’t try to interfere. And if we’re looking for someone to blame here I blame silco. None of this would have happened without Silcos actions.
@@chipstarshine8150 They still showed Claggor make an escape route for them. They were all locked behind the sealed door and Vander was unbound. It seems they did this to further twist the knife of Powder inserting herself in the situation and making everything infinitely worse.
@@chipstarshine8150 CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE REACTOR, DO NOT LOOK AT THIS PART BEFORE ENDING THE SERIES!!!!!!! Without Vander's actions, a more powerful version of Silco would never have been born. If Piltover's councilors had taken a step to improve the underground city from the very beginning, instead of exploiting it, people like Vander, Silco, Power's parents and the entire underground city wouldn't have stepped in. This is how the story goes before. More information: Blaming Silco for everything is the audience's disrespect for the writers' story. It means you are ignoring the context. Or a fact that you don't understand yet. The chief problem with this world of Runeterra is the sudden appearance of magic. Then the appearance of undead magical creatures like Heimerdinger. Then the destruction by magic was seen by an immortal being and the creation of Piltover where magic was forbidden. It goes like this, as people like Jayce are shown the good side of magic. It's a matter of perspective.
@@n0bleonline222 I’m not going as far as the bigger picture of the whole of society rather the specific situation in ep 3. In that specific situation, silco is the one who kidnaps Vander, silco is the one who intentionally had his thugs try to kill Vander and all of them. I’m this situation, none of those people would have died if silco didn’t try his power play and setup that situation that unfolded like it did. I’m not going into the bigger scheme of things with my comment.
@@n0bleonline222 The _real_ villain in the story is: *SPOILERS BELOW* *SPOILER* Heimerdinger. He was the head of the Council when Zaun and Piltover came together to fight the magic threat. He was the one in charge when the council restricted Zaun's ability to trade around the world. He was in charge when the pollution of the Zaunites' waters and air went without redress. There's a historical parallel, research "nuisance suits" which were lawsuits over industrial polluters. Instead the polluters were protected by lawmakers in "democracies" from what common law would have done to stop them. Heimerdinger doesn't let people make their own way out of his fear. He insists that _his_ will be done. Like all other tyrants before, he uses people's fears to take control, to dictate. If it weren't for Heimerdinger, the people of Zaun would've been able to make their own progress, to persue their own dreams and not had the need to rebel in the first place.
It wasn't a misunderstanding Vi did leave her...three times in this episode...If you step back and look and listen, things in this series are not what they seem...
SPOILERS!! ++I agree Arcane Fans constantly ignore this fact. Every time Violet leaves Powder, Powder gets a handful closer to breaking. The reason is understandable, but that doesn't make up for what Powder is feeling. Powder feels those moments so deeply and continues to come closer to mental breakdown once more. The first 3 episodes generally do not come to mind and go unnoticed. (Scenes where Violet leaves Powder.)
She didn’t, or at least wasn’t, going to leave indefinitely. Being taken from Powder was wasn’t her own doing, as she was kidnapped before she could reach her again. Never once in the show does she actually abandon her sister. From Jinx’s perspective it just seems that way.
When I first saw the end scene with powder and silco, I was jumping around with excitement absolutely spilling with happiness and joy. Man I love antagonists so much.
I'm pretty certain that Vi and Powder are biological sisters. Even though it's never stated as fact. Vander and Silco, I'm much less certain on them. Not sure if brother meant blood or more like brothers in arms? Men often call each other brother (or bro) when not actually related. So less sure on that one
As crude as videogame health issues seem, they always have a life bar, so healing them is about rising levels of a health bar. This is why 2013 Tomb Raider reboot had Lara dying as she fell from a helicopter but CPR (which does not heal people who fell from heights) can heal her. In a way it is amusing to see how videogame medicine works.
Oh, do NOT say Marcus was being nice. Keep in mind he was on patrol, noticed an explosion, and went to the scene. That's fine. He also had chloroform in his pocket and it he used that immediately. That's just creepy that he's strolling the streets with it and it looks like it's not his first time using it. If he actually cared, he would have drawn his weapon and actually done police work by getting between opposing sides. Marcus is the worst.
Silco and Vander are not biological brothers, 100℅, it is said in the show directly, moreover, there is even a theory that Vi and Powder aren't biological relatives, it's based on some misleading choice of words in the show and how easily characters calls each other brothers or sisters here. But still, it's more possible that they are real sisters.
No disrespect to the series, i love it so much but Powder was so wrong in this, vi clearly ask her to stay-at-home so she could be safe and she wouldn't take no for answer, that she totally disregarded her wishes Now their blood is on her hand
Powder was/is a child. Children are cognitively not at a place to make the mature choices you are demanding her to make (Taking in all perspectives). It was a mistake, and the shitty environment she found herself in - with no supervision - allowed those tendencies to come out. I love how the series wrote her character to show people do not simply wake up "bad". It's a journey - a very long evolution usually. And it is often a journey where others around that person (or the system itself in this case) failed them... Which is where the story leads to in episode 9.
Powder was a child and if they wanted for her to stay put they should have thought about it and leave someone behind to look after her. Not leave her alone. She did what every kid would do if they knew their sibling was going on a suicide mission. Try to help. If they took her with them this wouldn't happen.
@@PlayerFORgamev I do agree for the most part but take a kid to a suicide mission is clearly not a responsible thing to do either. Maybe leave her with someone else or explaining properly why she should listen and stay, but I get it was no time for that. Even if it could have potentially led to a better result, bringing your little sister to a deadly fight against gangsters is surely not the first thing that comes to a responsible person's mind.
The thing is that all of this could have been avoided had they just not gone to topside. So Vi is the one who started all this. In the end, there is no good or evil in this show. It’s all morally grey.

@@Mi_Z yah, I was pretty sleepy when I wrote that. You are right.

CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE REACTOR, DO NOT LOOK AT THIS PART BEFORE ENDING THE SERIES!!!!!!!
More information:
Blaming Silco for everything is the audience's disrespect for the writers' story.
@@n0bleonline222 The _real_ villain in the story is:
*SPOILERS BELOW*
*SPOILER*
Heimerdinger.

"Don't cry... you're perfect"
The End of Act 1 of Season 1, the End of the Prologue, everything will change.
Cue Timeskip.
It wasn't a misunderstanding Vi did leave her...three times in this episode...If you step back and look and listen, things in this series are not what they seem...
SPOILERS!!
++I agree
Arcane Fans constantly ignore this fact.
So cute
When I first saw the end scene with powder and silco, I was jumping around with excitement absolutely spilling with happiness and joy. Man I love antagonists so much.
It's not messy. It's clear cut.
they are not biological brothers they are brothers in the sense of friendship and relationship.
you should watch cyberpunk edgerunners its really good
I'm pretty certain that Vi and Powder are biological sisters. Even though it's never stated as fact. Vander and Silco, I'm much less certain on them. Not sure if brother meant blood or more like brothers in arms? Men often call each other brother (or bro) when not actually related. So less sure on that one
Arcane que interesante y apenas van 3 reseñas.

SPOILER ALERT FOR SEASON 2 OR ABOVE 😆😆😆
Yooo sarah
Watch Cyberpunk Edgerunners I definitely wanna see you reavting to it
Fudgee bar😩😭
As crude as videogame health issues seem, they always have a life bar, so healing them is about rising levels of a health bar. This is why 2013 Tomb Raider reboot had Lara dying as she fell from a helicopter but CPR (which does not heal people who fell from heights) can heal her. In a way it is amusing to see how videogame medicine works.
Cole wasn't impressed one bit.
Stop muting the Music please, riot/netflix doesnt claim it

Hi
Oh, do NOT say Marcus was being nice. Keep in mind he was on patrol, noticed an explosion, and went to the scene. That's fine. He also had chloroform in his pocket and it he used that immediately. That's just creepy that he's strolling the streets with it and it looks like it's not his first time using it. If he actually cared, he would have drawn his weapon and actually done police work by getting between opposing sides. Marcus is the worst.
I love this show.
I loathe marcus.

Да, Силко - лучший злодей.
Добро пожаловать в семью, Джинкс.
Yes, Silco - best villian. Welcome to the family, Jinx.
Vi did leave her…
League of legends wolf
Silco and Vander are not biological brothers, 100℅, it is said in the show directly, moreover, there is even a theory that Vi and Powder aren't biological relatives, it's based on some misleading choice of words in the show and how easily characters calls each other brothers or sisters here. But still, it's more possible that they are real sisters.
No disrespect to the series, i love it so much but Powder was so wrong in this, vi clearly ask her to stay-at-home so she could be safe and she wouldn't take no for answer, that she totally disregarded her wishes
Now their blood is on her hand
personally I disagree but have a like, always nice to see original opinions
It’s all morally grey.
i commented before the thousands comment 😀
