I have watched your videos and they are great and taught me a lot. Thank you.
I have one question regarding recipes:-
I can select and download a recipe to the PLC and it all runs fine. I synchronise the data with the PLC. So I know when the download completes but when I power the machine down I loose the recipe selected in the HMI and I think also in the PLC. What is the easiest / safest way to make sure that when I power up the machine the original recipe is restored to both the PLC and HMI without the need for reselection?
I look forward to hearing from you.

Question: is there a way t handle different engineering units? Suppose the PLC uses temperature in C as a setpoint for the PID and I'd like to make single HMI application capable of switching between degree C and F (both on screen recipe and the entered value would have to changed from/to PLC units to whatever units are selected for the screen).

This is a superb video a great help. This all works on the my simulator, but when i load it to my HMI, the "data records" do not show up although all other info is there. I can manually type in new recipes but they do not do to the data base so obviously its not able to run?? I'm using Tia 15, a S7 1200 dc-dc-dc and a Ktp700 HMI.
Any ideas where I've gone wrong?
Keep the videos coming they have a fantastic content

Hi, First of all, thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Do you know if is it possible to read/write data stored in recipe automatically, e.g. by activating some kind of bit, or it must be always made by human by pressing store/restore data?

I have a question about the recipe view that even Siemens couldn't answer me. On a KTP1200 basic, I have the recipe view active. When I use the function keys to go to another screen and then go back to the recipe view, all the values are set on zero. I have to reload the recipe to see the values. Is there a solution to this? Best regards,

Just add a string variable to your recipe which holds your recipe name. next thing to do is attach this variable to your main screen text box.

Good tutorial for me as a beginner.
Now I try to improve myself.
I have a recipe data set where each data is a percentage of the total.
    product 1: 20%
    Product 2: 40%
    Product 3: 20%
Before saving the recipe I would like a check like this: sum of ingredients (%) must be 100%.
Is it possible to carry out such a validation? if so, how?

All shown in the video... but instead of using an I/O Field I used the Recipe View which was made for it. If you want to use an I/O Field for it you have to use several Events/Functions (e.g. "SetDataRecordToPLC" in the change event of the I/O field).
I highly reccomend using the Recipe View, as it already has those functions integrated

Hmmm as the Recipe View is available on all HMI's that you can use in TIA portal (as far as I know) I would count it as "standard object"...
Recreating recipe handling from standard objects is quite an effort (especially the Text List handling and creating new recipes...). I just checked if I can make a video or at least an explanation on it, but it would take a really long time, so I can't do it... sorry!

Hi, first of all, thank you. Creating videos isn't something what you do daily. I also don't know where you are from so i will write in english. You are repeating yourself very often, you don't explain the topic clearly and i really like to see a clear window, i want to see the right corner of TIA Portal. Just have a look at other videos if you like to improve yourself.
