Hey bro, the species of Tapinoma in the video are actually T. indicum, and if I recall correctly are native to the Philippines. They can be distinguished from T. melanocephalum through their darker coloration.
@@Dcolony not so sure about the T.destructor but T.melanocephalum could spray formic acid, the formic acid is hot enough that it irritates the strongest of my C.auriventris majors so maybe the outcome wouldn’t be so one sided
Base on my observations on the wild, t. Destructor raids ghost ants nest, ghost ants just always run and move buddy, this is like a battle of tropical fire ants and black crazy ants, it would take 10 BCA workers to take on 1 fire ant worker.
Hi I found a new barrier to keep a ghost ant first you need water and dishwashing liquid try to put some dishwashing liquid on the water it will act as a barrier because when a ghost ant try to cross the water they will not float they will sink because of the dishwashing liquid
D colony, I have 4 queens of messor and I puted them all in the same tube, but today, 2 queens were hurted and 1 having her last moments so I took them out of the tube and put the 3 wounds in a separated box from the "leader", do you think I can save at least 2 of them with some larvae? They only have the nanitics ant they still in larvae stage, if you want to see the videos are o my chanel in Portuguese!
keep them if you have a nest that is escape proof. Otherwise, end them to protect your other more important colonies. I don't think I would trust that out world with that species, though. The bands will get weak over time, and they will escape through the cracks.

Definitely keep them but use fluon instead of olive oil. I have found that tricky-to-contain ants easily override the olive oil over time. 😊
