Nice soldering. It looks like it was a bit too long on the board and also movement of that soldering arm for too long but rest was OK.

Can you share how the holes are detected?

I feel like in theory if you mount the board in the right spot, then upload an stl with the locations of all the solder points (maybe made 1mm thick just for the solidworks 3d model) you can do it without sensors as long as you know the measurements of the board. if you designed the PCB then you know all the dimensions and have them in your gerber file

I expect it is same as with any selective soldering. ..manual labour..one person has to program it from start to finish...i expect there is some camera that will detect some mark on board and that is how it will detect correct position of board...i don't think it will solder component by components with fully detection as such..

@@SylwerDragon Assuming they designed the PCB they could just export the through-hole layer to the CNC controller. No need to manually program every hole.

@@ClicketyClack yes you are correct. That is also possible. It is easily done and no much work required . but you can't check it the best way without camera to see results but possible ..it all depend on manufactured and price spend on machine

In short.. Extremly long time. By hand would be less time consuming.

If you automate the PCB feeding and depositing process you can have this robot working hours that would make an extortionist employer blush.

A human also needs to be paid.
