And to be extra evil, play a clip, confirm that it is Gura speaking, then the question asks if it's Gura's regular voice or if she's trying to imitate Mumei.

They're voice actresses, so that's not that surprising.
I feel like Mumei has a more distinctive cadance, like she almost sings when she talks, while Gura is more monotone. When gura raises her pitch a little they sound almost identical. If they could get the accents down it would be really hard to tell.
I mean when Moom is actively trying to sound like Gura, it's almost impossible to tell the difference*. Not so much the other way around, as Goob can't quite get Moom's vocal mannerisms down.
*Unless your name is Fauna. She knows both of them too well.

Ya this won't work on someone who hangs out with both of them so often. Calli hangs out with Gura significantly more often than Mumei, so it is still somewhat effective. Especially because Mumei seems to be the right answer more often than Gura.
Their voices do sound similar, but the way they say things makes it easy to distinguish.

Yeah, Gura and Mumei are like twins where there's small details that differentiate them, but if they're TRYING to imitate each other it becomes nigh impossible. Once they start adopting the other's quirks it's all over.
I'm new to Hololive and I still got 9. Mumei's voice is just ever so slightly breathier than Gura's.

The questions are randomized, so it's not that people gave up, it's that they didn't get the same questions. I got the American Angus Beef one, which always tripped me up.
Mumei has a really husky singing voice. You can kind of hear it with her talking voice, it’s faint but it’s there. Gura on the other hand is a brat through and through.

That nothing sound got me. That was the only one. Listening back and knowing it's Gura - I hear it, but dang was that so little to go on.
I feel the test would be fairer with slightly longer clips. Most of them are pretty easy to differentiate since Gura often sounds lower than Mumei however the one syllable ones are still pretty tricky.

I got the same score. Personally it's easier to distinguish when I try to think about stream moments of theirs, despite me also having trouble recognizing voices without context clues, to the extent that I've been unable to recognize reincarnated oshis even after weeks of listening to them.
Yeah, "do it again" "do it again" was the easiest for me, because that came from a stream clip where they were _talking_ about how similar they sound, so I remember that particular moment very well.
In most of these I personnaly found that Mumei's voice is a bit more calm than gura's

It is extremely unlikely that anyone would get 0 when each question only has two answers. If you just blindly guess you'll almost certainly get a few right. This is true for any multiple choice test.

Gura voice is sharper, it cuts like a fresh knife. While Mumei voice has less reverberation, it flows like a river on sand.

The first one was on me but on the second I can't hear Gura no matter how hard I try, that is and will always be Mumei's voice.
If I learned anything playing this game, it's a lot easier to mistake Mumei for Gura then it is Gura for Mumei. Then again, that could easily be with the set of lines I got but yea.

I don't ever have time to watch streams so I only watch clips whenever they get recommended to me and I got a 9/10. Only lost the one that like 78% lost.

I paused the vid to try out the quiz, and I'm proud to say that I got a perfect score.
Maybe things changed in the development of the game since I played it, but it started off being very clear about what your choices were, but it’s certain points you only heard one or the other but you were still giving both choices, so I feel like some of my incorrect answers weird because I didn’t know what they were telling me to choose between!

You can sometimes easily tell who's who if you based off how rough their voices are. Gura has a rougher voice for me at least

Gura is slightly more nasally and normally has a faster cadence in her normal (well streaming) speech she also has less firm diction comparatively on average (goomba would be more at home saying tiddies than titties for example) towels pocket for her normal speaking range seems slightly higher but Gura seems to use a larger area in her normal talking voice causing them to overlap a non trivial amount of times per day (not counting outburst or actual singing)

I think the easiest way to tell the difference is that gura is more aggressive, mumei is a little bit more soft spoken.
Also Gura pronounces her u a little more.

some of these noises are so short and nothing I wouldnt be able to tell Gura from Calli. If this was sentences this game wouldnt be any challange whatsoever cause they dont really sound that similar.

I've never understood this at all. I think Gura and Mumei have very different voices and I'm always baffled that people think they sound similar... I've never confused one for the other.
I'll be honest, whoever made this game may gotten some of the voices mixed up because there should have been no reason for Calli to get any of them wrong.
Gura and Mumei have also played this game. And had the exact same problem as Calli. So.... When the talents in question are saying "yeah these clips we sound extremely similar". I'd rather believe the talents in question
Except that in order to get the sound bites, they had to get it from the clips themselves. So it would be difficult to get it wrong. Memory is a lot more unreliable than having the actual evidence in front of you as you're making the game, even the memories of the talents themselves.

@@andychamplin You don't understand. People can make mistakes, yes, but the likelihood of making a mistake when you're literally looking at the evidence in front of you is very, very small. It's like asking people to quote certain paragraphs of a book, and one of those people would be the book's author while the other is a guy with the book itself open in front of him. Even though one of them is the author, the guy with the book literally has the answers in his hands. The author's memory can fail him, but the only way the guy with the book can be wrong is if he literally forgets how to read. The creator of this game is the guy with the book in this example.
